NBC5 is doing this competition to see who has the best fans in baseball. I saw this on the news and thought there's no way The Cubs would lose this, there are a lot more Cubs fans than there are Sox.. but they are losing.. I'm not posting this to rally votes or anything just bringing it to people attention.

Good for him but you have to wonder now how that will effect how he plays in the season. How do you guys think this will effect his season? Good, Bad, or not at all? It should be interesting to see especially since it is already doubtful he will recreate his 2008 season and with a shorter off season for him now it will be interesting to see how he does.

i gotta fill in the rest of the words so I guess i'll just say Merry Christmas to everyone...

Alfonso Soriano

So I already realize im gonna get alot of people who disagree with me but im gonna say it anyway. What is so bad about Alfonso Soriano, apart from the post season problems have we forgotten how much he helped us in the past two seasons?

He missed 6 weeks this year and still leading the team in home runs and having a .280 batting average (imagine if he played all year.) I just fail to see how some of you think he needs to be moved. Yes I realize that he goes really hot then really cold but no one ever mentions those stretches where he just does what he needs to do. His confidence on the base paths returned the second half of this season, and he was taking more risks in my opinion he is going to continue to become the base runner he used to be. His fielding is terrible at times, and I think its something that he probably realizes and will try to work on it in the off season, I don't really see him as a lazy player.

So maybe my opinion is biased as he is one of my favorite players, he makes sitting in the left field bleachers very enjoyable. But I just had to say something because reading some posts around here the picture I get in my head is a bunch of angry Cubs fans with torches and pick forks running him out of town. I'll keep my mind open to your guys' thoughts on why he should be moved thats why I wanted to make this post.

My Take On Things

Its a pleasure finally being able to post..

Well after stalking these blogs for the second half of the season, and waiting for my account to be approved i'm finally able to post my take on things.

It seems as though most of us Cubs fans have completely given up, I even saw a post about completly changing the name, knocking down Wrigley Field, and starting over. That is just completly ridiculous.

I know i'm not the only one that realizes how close we were to actually maybe pulling off the last two games. (I know the scores were a blow out) But if you think about it, baseball is a game of momentum, Dempster was one strike away from ending the 5th inning. Let's say Dempster gets out of it, the momentum would still be on The Cubs side, and the bats probably would've been alot louder. But as we know Dempster did it to himself, and the rest is history. On Thursday in the second that double play would have ended the inning, and it would've been 0-0, totally different ball game, but once again the Cubs did it to themselves and the rest is history.

What I'm trying to get at is do you really expect this team to go out and walk 7 batters again, or commit 4 errors (or err-ahs as stockton would say) this team is better than that and lets keep faith they could pull a miracle off. I hope i'm not the only one watching tonite, not only hoping for a miracle but just so I could see my boys play at least one more time before 2009.
