I'm a loyal fan of the New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Braves, Oregon Ducks, LSU Tigers, and Tulane Green Wave.
I also root for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Georgia Bulldogs, and Purdue Boilermakers though I don't have the same unswerving loyalty.
Orange is a color of evil, for it means the Swamp, Hook 'em Horns, the War Plainstigles, Rocky Top, and Beavers.
I'm from New Orleans, studying mathematics at U of O.
I do Tiger Stadium, I do Autzen Stadium.
In other words, I get LOUD!

Home Winning Streak!
Figured I may as well share the fruit of my bored clicking:
As an Oregon fan, I knew that we had the longest home winning streak after the Sooners and the Broncos lost earlier in the year. As an LSU fan, after getting home from the Ducks' loss, I decided to go poking on ESPN.com into the past schedules of teams undefeated at home this year. Turns out all but four of them lost in 2010. Those four are:
- LSU: 16 game streak dating to October 10, 2009 loss to Florida
- Wisconsin: 15 game streak dating to October 17, 2009 loss to Iowa
- Auburn: 15 game streak dating to November 27, 2009 loss to Alabama
- Michigan State: 14 game streak dating to November 21, 2009 loss to Penn State
(subject to the correctness of ESPN.com, and my counting correctly while listening to podcasts)
Track and Field NCAAs Photos/USAs Schedule
The first order of business, a few weeks ago PodKATT said that he expected pictures from the NCAA Track and Field Meet. I did take them (although there's plenty of UO in there with the LSU) and they're up, but still mostly unlabeled on my Flickr page.
Secondly, there are current, future, and former Tigers competing in Des Moines this weekend. RunnerSpace.com has both a live feed and archives of previous events and some events will be televised. But if you're like me, you don't care to watch the whole meet, but would like a schedule of when the LSU-affiliated runners are competing or what events in the archive have Tigers. To that end, here it is:

Baseball Open Thread, Portland Pilots and OSU Beavers
This is pretty much what the Beavers' season has felt like recently. (Photo by Brent Wojahn via oregonianphoto.com)
Baseball takes on OSU in a 3-game conference series this weekend. The Beavers are reeling, having won just 1 of their last 12 games and coming off a sweep by Cal in which they were outscored 34-10. After spending the last 7 games on the road, the Beavers return to Corvallis for the next 9.
The Ducks' momentum is in the other direction, as they've risen to No. 15 in the Baseball America poll. Oregon is looking to win its 5th straight conference series, behind a weekend rotation with a combined ERA of 2.71. The Ducks' last game was a 3-1 loss to Portland in which Eddie Rodriguez accounted for 3 of the Ducks' 5 hits, including a solo shot in the bottom of the 9th.
No 15 Oregon Ducks (30-15, 10-8) at Oregon State Beavers (21-17, 4-11)
Goss Stadium at Coleman Field (3,248)
Series: OSU leads 155-148 all-time, Oregon leads 1-0 on the season
All four games will be broadcast on 95.3 FM in Eugene and 95.5 FM in Portland.

More good news...
Anyone else headed for the SF games?
So, just about the only chance I'll get to see the Braves live this year is the road trip to San Francisco, and I was wondering if anyone else was planning to do so as well and would be interested in a meetup.
The series is 1:35 on Friday 9 Mar, 7:05 on Saturday 10 Mar, and 1:05 on Sunday 11 Mar (all Pacific); as I'm a student at UO right now, I'd probably be making Saturday and Sunday, but might or might not be able to do Friday. There also could be a second student coming, who's from the area and a Giants fan, but he's not yet sure if he can do that weekend or not.
Mandel: Player arrests cast negative light on Oregon, but Kelly not to blame
Stewart Mandel argues that Kelly is far from having "lost control of the team."
First saw this on Facebook, but later have found out it's a full-page ad they're taking out in the USA Today.
Yesterday's Five Most Valuable Players
I know there's a link to Shutdown Corner on CSC, but I thought this was noteworthy as the only national coverage I've seen to point out "Of course, the Saints got a lot of help from Minnesota fumbles, but you know what? Fumbles don't cause themselves."
He then goes on to say that it's nice to not be talking about blown calls or bad coaching decisions. Uhh...what?
Battle in the Bayou: Testing ear plugs
Apparently, Visanthe Shiancoe is testing ear plugs that the Vikings plan to wear in the Dome on Sunday.
My cousins made this poster print for their parents for Christmas...each of those little squares is a family photo. I thought it was pretty awesome and figured I'd share it.
Volleyball in the Tournament
So, first, since search tells me that this was never posted on the front page...volleyball went up to Pullman on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, and took down WSU 3-1. They then headed over to face the No. 4, Pac-10 leading Huskies. After falling behind 2-0, the Ducks rallied back behind Sonja Newcombe to beat the Huskies 3-2, breaking a 17-match losing streak to UW and preventing the Huskies from clinching a share of the Pac-10 championship.
Sonja Newcombe, in the midst of kicking Fusky ass. Mmm, 36 kills.

Couldn't get a really good shot, but the Duck was sporting a beaverskin cap pregame.
My friend made this and told me I was free to share it, so, here ya go...
SI.com's 2009 Fan Survey Results from the Pac-10
We're the primary rival of 93.9% of Beaver fans and 51.8% of Husky fans, while we swing 56.9% anti-Beaver, 31.4% anti-Husky, and 10.1% anti-Trojan. (And 0.2% of Duck fans say our primary rival is Wazzou? Really?)
@jeffduncantp The MRI revealed Tracy Porter's injury to be an MCL sprain. He's expected to miss 4-6 weeks.

Civil War's opening salvo? Beavers pay to light Morrison Bridge orange during rivalry week
Fans of Oregon opponents Washington and Oregon State pay to light Morrison bridge in team colors during respective game weeks. Duck fans utterly fail to care.
Four Duck Sports in Three Days (And Five in Five)
Just in case you feel like you weren't thinking about Duck sports enough this weekend with the football game, it seems that we have all the other fall and winter team sports at home this weekend as well, and there was also a post this Tuesday announcing a lacrosse alumni weekend "Friday at 2 in Autzen," which one would normally assume means "this Friday." But College GameDay outside and a game vs. USC the next day are not normal. So, you may, in fact, be able to catch up to five sports in three days, or six in five:
That might be a concern considering, you know, Oregon. USC has allowed an average over thirty points a game in their last two games against Notre Dame and Oregon State, and will face Oregon this coming weekend, an offense averaging 34 points a game. These are numbers that may be of some concern to USC fans, and of some consolation to those wishing to avoid the usual "USC reforms, hangs around, and is sitting there at the end of the season just waiting for everyone else to fold before stealing the pot" move they excel at following their one blown Pac-10 game a year.
College GameDay will be in Eugene
Not really a surprise, but it's still nice to hear official word.
Ducks now No. 5 in the Sagarin rankings
.04 ahead of Boise State, and behind SC, Bama, Florida, and LSU. It's still bayesian, though, so some of that comes from last year.
Why haven't we been using him in the running game more?
Who besides the Ducks Do You Root For?
So, after seeing a similar post on And The Valley Shook, I figured this would be an interesting thing to post on a week we're not playing on Saturday. And after Thursday night, distractions are good.
So, as the title says...what college football teams do you root for besides Oregon?
