What a game! By far the best game in the WBC so far! Down 5-3 in the bottom of the ninth facing elimination and team USA comes up big time! Facing Philadelphia Phillies reliever (and ex-angel bullpen lefty) JC Romero, Shane Victorino leads off with a single to right, Brian Roberts singles to left, Victorino is sacrificed over to 3rd by a Derek Jeter fly to right, Rollins walks to load em up, Youkilis takes a bases loaded walk 5-4 and David Wright drops one down the right field line to score Roberts for the tie and Rollins for the win!!!! I haven't been this excited about a baseball game since Nappy hit two bombs in last years ALDS win in boston. Watching the guys dogpile each other was great! USA USA USA!!!!!

I was just reading the message boards on the angels home page and couldn't help but write this. The amount of crap that is written in there is just (as Tim McCarver would say) dispicable. I could not believe the stuff I was reading, just the most off the wall, idiotic suggestions for what the team should do now. Not to mention the hoards of Red Sox fans just smack talking for days. The angels fans commenting in there too though, just the most pathetic and embarrassing fans. I'd post a link but I don't know how to use the html tag thingy and don't want to get the Rev in trouble. Its under "angels still feel the sting" or something like that on the home page. I wouldn't bother reading the mindless garbage anyway.

So knowing that wouldn't be tolerated here, I just wanted to thank the Rev and everyone else that contributes so much to making this the far and away best angels baseball site to visit. All the info and analysis is top notch and I truly feel spoiled and grateful now knowing I'm apart of the best angels fan community out there. Thanks again.

I was watching the yankees/ orioles game sunday morning. The yankees announcers mentioned a rule a change in regards to a play that was made in they're game the day before (saturday). I was intrigued because they showed a replay of the infamous Josh Paul/ AJ Porkzynski 05' ALCS play. I guess the new rule states that if a batter leaves the box and doesn't attempt to reach first base on a swinging strike 3 in the dirt, he is automatically out. On saturday Melvin Mora swung and missed at K3 in the dirt and made 2 or 3 steps towards his dugout, then thought about going to first but he was called out automatically without having the catcher throw to first due to the new rule. I apologize if this topic has been covered, apparently the rule was in force prior to the start of the season. I just thought it was interesting considering that rule would've helped a couple years ago...................

Does a an orginizations farm system play under the rules in which league they're under? For example: does a national league teams farm system have the pitchers hit? and vice versa for an AL team? Sorry if this is a dumb question........Im pretty sure they do, I just wanted some of your answers.

I am in disagreement with a friend over the definition of a "perfect game" pitched. The arguement is whether or not it has to be 27 up 27 down, or if someone can reach on error. I cant find the answer online anywhere and nobody I ask so far seems to know. So Im resorting to you guy (and gals). I honestly dont know if Im right or wrong and my gut tells me Im wrong just by the word "perfect". But part of believes a pitcher should be granted a perfect game if he doesnt walk anyone or allow a hit. So basically my question is "is a perfect game defined by number of batters faced?" Help please..........

...To everyone here at Halos Heaven! This is by far my favorite website to visit. Extra special thanks to Rev for putting in all the work on the site, especially with that Top 100 Halos! That is freakin awesome. Its so much fun for me to read everyone's post's.

Thanks to welch and stirrups and everyone else that put up these elaborate diaries with exstensive facts about the halos and their farm system. I couldn't hold a candle to you guys, as far as the amount of info you guys have on the halos. And to anyone else that helps with the up keep on this site while the rev takes a break.

Also of course....The Halos, Yeah of course I'm disappointed that we're not it the playoffs but, not the least bit discouraged. And this past weekend proved that even more for me. I was at saturday night's game and for me it was the best game of the year. And we were totally out of the playoff race. This team has a golden future and I'm stoked on the halos for they way they went out. They showed me they ARE the better team in the west. In or out of the playoffs.

Special salute to the Fish, and any halo that will no longer be with us. Can't wait for 07'

Oh yeah, and lastnight my girlfriend and I had dinner at that Alcatraz place in the block. And I look over and Curtis Pride and his cute little daughter are having dinner right next to us! I smiled and threw a shaka (hang loose bra!) and he smiled and gave me shaka back! Sweet.......

Being a fan of the Angels, we have been subjected to (IMO) some of the worst baseball television announcers in the game. Probably second in line to those white-sox announcers.

I just wanted to say that this ex-Halo is an absolute pleasure to listen to. If theres anything about playing the Sox that I look forward to, its listening to Jer shed his insight on my team. In my opinion he's second in line as best active announcer under The legendary Vin Scully. He's unbiased and gives really good baseball insight at all the right times. The last game I heard him call was the one in which Jerred Weaver was going for his 8th consecutive W, we lost but it was a great game and Rem-dog killed it that day. You could tell in the tone of his voice he liked calling halo games. Thanks for all the kinds words on our team and your ex-team rem-dog, you da man!

whos your favorite announcer aside from Vin?
