MMAmania.com Brandon Vera exposed at UFC 105

How many fights before people accept this "talented and gifted fighter" really wasn't?

As I watched his most recent bout against Randy Couture I couldn't help but ask myself "Really? You didn't drill that in camp?".

After being chased to the Light Heavyweight Division by Tim Silvia in what could only be called a loser leaves town match, he turned in a nearly identical performance against The Natural. Where Tim used weight Randy used skill, but the result was the same. Decision loss for Vera.

The excuse this time? The return of an old favorite, he was robbed.

No. He was out classed. He had no answer for Randy. When he did manage to deal damage, the upper hand was never his for long as Couture neutralized him against the cage and on the ground. That fight wasn't taken from him by the judges, it was taken from him by his opponent just like it was against the Maine-iac. When your opponent takes a fight away from you it's a loss, not robbery.

I couldn't help but think as I was reading the apologists, or are they Truther's, complain about the decision that maybe Brandon should actually "man up" and change camps. Or get a better game planner, or a game planner at all. People blaming the judges, Randy and, most absurdly, the UFC should really consider that if Vera had an answer for being pressed against the cage he would have won. He certainly showed no sign he trained to get out of the position.

Maybe it's time for a move. Maybe it's time to listen to his coaches. It's certainly time for something because his ship is so far off course it may be called the S.S. Minnow.

My 2 cents. You don't have to pay now, you can owe it to me.
