I made this for a friend back on June 8th after some particularly terrible relief pitching cost the Angels a few wins. I made a version with "Halos Heaven" in mind but forgot to post it. So here it is. The bullpen has performed a little better as of late, maybe I should make one for the Starting Rotation.

Saw the Angles doing some special post season training before tonight's game.

They had a glove punting competition. Two guys would stand on the rolled up tarp in left field and form field goal uprights. Then a guy would snap the glove back to the place holder and another guy would be the kicker and try to kick the glove through the "uprights"

Not sure who was participating. I'm guessing John Lackey was involved.

I work at Angels Stadium a handful of games a month. My work station is in the TV booth directly behind home plate between the Angesls TV team and the radio team. Because of this my family and their friends often ask me what the heck is going on with the rolling dice approach to the TV color man and commentator combos this season. I know there are contracts that were made up at the start of the season for so and so to do so many games etc but I'm not sure what to tell them.

All of them tell me they prefer Huddler and Physioc for every game. They keep asking me to find Arte and tell him to cut the crap and keep the same guys for every game. I don't even work for the Angels nor the TV stations nor the radio station but they still don't seem to grasp that I have no say in this.

I'm wondering if there are any petitions out there that already exist to ask the Angels to quit the revolving door and make it strictly Huddler and Physioc. Anyone know of such a thing?

There have been 7 Angels grand slam walk off home runs in the Angels history.

I guess I'm too young to remember them... how about you old timers?

Can we account for all of them? Do you have any favorites? I'm probably shooting myself here and forgetting some classic Angels history that we should all know.

I'll start with #7

Torii Hunter hits his second home run of the game. He put them ahead 2 to 1 in the 8th with a solo homer only to watch Frankie melt down in the 9th and let the Indians take a 4 to 2 lead going into the bottom of the inning. A grand slam walk off summoned by the rally monkey he had feared for all those years as a Twinkie put the Angels over the top and dancing on home plate. A 6 to 2 victory over the Indians.

I found out who hit #6.. Hint: It was a member of the squad that brought us a World Championship.

Playoff Games on XM Radio? Rabbit Ears? Lake Mead?

My friends and I go on a 5 day houseboat trip on Lake Mead every October... and it always coincides with the Division Series.

Last year wasn't so bad since the Angels weren't in it(bad that we weren't in it but not bad because I didn't have to worry about hearing/watching the games). A couple of my friends are Dodger die hards and all we had was a little hand held radio. We couldn't get reception on the lake, then hiked up to the top of a hill where we got scratchy reception.

I'd like to do better than that.

I'm willing to pony up 250 bucks + short term subscription to get a portable XM radio so that I can clearly hear the broadcast of the game.

I'm also willing to buy some sort of antenna that could hook up to a TV.

What I'm not willing to do is sit there down 250 bucks and go WTF!, why can't I hear the broadcast on XM??? or WTF?!? why can't I get the game on my TV Antenna???

Does anyone have advice as to what I should do?

A one game playoff vs. Fat Felix and the Fish Wranglers.

If Mike lines up the final home stand series against the Fish Wranglers with Escobar, Lackey, Weaver and Saunders then that would have the rotation ending out the Oakland in Oakland series with the 5 spot(Colon/Mosely/Butthurt/Adenhart). MEANING: Escobar has the most rest followed by Lackey and so on. SO... with all that to think about...

I'm Moving To Hollywood. What do I do?

My roommate and I have lived in orange county our whole lives but due to a lack of job opportunities for graduates of film school in the oc we are re-locating to Hollywood.

What I would like to know is the experienced and wise tips and tricks of following the Angels while living in LA. I've been spoiled for the past 5 years living in Orange and Tustin (about 10 mins from the the big A). Now I'm going to be about 45 mins from the big A (according to google maps) but we all know that traffic between the two counties can be pretty nasty so that typically would be... ? on a week night?

Google map has 101 to the 5 as the most direct route but i'm wondering if there are preffered alternate routes that people take.

Also there is the television issue... what will I be missing? Has the team really been converted to the LAA and thus they are as available to watch on TV in LA as they are in OC or will I have to purchase something extra to see the games?

A's Will Lose

All year long I have been keeping track of the season by marking W's and L's on my 2006 Angels Calendar. I've also marked a green $ symbol on dates when Napoli came up big, an orange $ symbol for when Molina came up big, and sometimes I would write the name of the winning pitcher if they were a rookie phenom (Weaver and Saunders). The green stripes mark the games I will be attending. I won't be at the game on the 30th due to a friend's wedding but I will be there on the 29th instead.

Earlier I predicted that we would overcome the odds and take down Oakland. I predicted we would be 5 games back going into this weekend's Oakland series... I think it can still happen.

With a little extra help from the Voodoo Calendar I created today things will fall right into place. The calendar already claimed its first victim today thanks to a 7 to 2 scalping put together by the tribe. 1 down, 13 to go. Ah yes... I also plan on writing a "yes We can" on the winning dates from now until the end of the season. Go Voodoo Calendar GO!
