Lady Luck is a cruel mistress

One of the most difficult concepts to explain to hockey fans is the nature of luck, and how sometimes the result of a hockey game is outside a team's control.

Tokarski to start tonight

According to Renaud Lavoie of TVA, the Canadiens are officially going with Tokarski tonight in the absence of Carey Price. It's a bold, gutsy call by Therrien, and he should get credit no matter how it turns out.

Done for the series

Michel Therrien confirmed that Price isn't going to play again this series.

Podcast: Ice Level on Lucic, Torts, & the Rangers

In the wake of an immense defeat, can the Canadiens regroup? Should anyone be talking about Lucic anymore?

Who is your halfway MVP?

We're at the halfway point of the 2014 NHL playoffs, so who is the Habs' most valuable player to this point?

The 2013-14 Boston Bruins Eulogy via Puck Daddy

The Pensblog wrote this year's eulogy for the Boston Bruins, and oh my. It goes right for the groin, just like Milan Lucic.

It's not about the Bruins, it's about the Habs

There has been an a concerted effort from nearly every corner of the media to make the Habs' second round series win all about Boston losing, but in reality it's all about Montreal winning.

Lucic tries not to cry in post game scrum

Milan Lucic wasn't happy about losing to the Habs, and he was even less happy that Dale Weise made his death threat during the handshakes public. This interview is insanely awkward and painful to watch, and by that I mean hilarious to watch.

Don't poke the bear?

Subban can't wait for Game 7

"I can’t wait for the crowd, the noise, the energy in the building. I can’t wait to take that all away from them."

P.K. Subban after the Canadiens tied the series 3-3

Nathan Beaulieu confirmed to play tonight

It took facing elimination, but Michel Therrien has finally seen the light. Nathan Beaulieu will play tonight over Douglas Murray.

Podcast: Ice Level on Habs/Bruins & body checking

After a week off, Ice Level is back with the usual panel to talk hockey.

Habs beat themselves again

Everyone is tripping over themselves giving Boston credit for being up 3-2 against Montreal, but in the last two games, it was the Canadiens beating themselves, rather than Boston outplaying them.

Enough is enough with Douglas Murray

The evidence against Douglas Murray as an NHL player is too strong to ignore, and if you're still defending him, slap yourself.

Pateryn extended

The Montreal Canadiens have signed AHL defenseman Greg Pateryn to a two year contract extension.

Worst Bruins: Marchand vs Julien

Have you ever wondered who the worst Bruin of all time was? We have too, and it's about time we find out, with your help. Today we finally arrive at the semifinals.

Habs stem the Bruins' tide

For the third straight game in this series, the Canadiens had a 3-1 lead in the third period, but for the first time they didn't blow it.

P.K. Subban is happy

Not good enough

The Boston Bruins are unquestionably the better team in this series, but they aren't this good, the Canadiens have been bad.
