If I had a managerial job at a major corporation which paid me three-quarters of a million dollars annually, but routinely and flagrantly disregarded several industry-wide best practices, leading to consistent and obvious harm to my company's immediate-term performance, I would probably be fired. Or at least sternly spoken to. Does Terry Collins receive this kind of treatment?

A (maybe really dumb) proposal made in boredom

After seeing Wright's negative UZR projection earlier, would it make any sense to move him to 1B and sign Chone Figgins to play 3B? Wright's arm has always seemed shaky, so this might make a little bit of sense (what is the metric that would tell me about his arm, by the way?). I know that defensive metrics and projections are imperfect, but it's just a thought that came to me since I'm super bored at a meeting right now, so I figured I'd throw it out there. Thanks for indulging me.

BJ Upton this offseason?

BJ Upton's value seems to have tanked this season, and he's been giving the Rays a headache of late. Do you think the Rays might trade him this offseason? I'm inclined to say that he'd be a great buy low guy. If the Rays were to put him on the trading block, who would the Mets likely have to give up? Would you make that deal? I figured I'd just throw this idea out there. I'm relatively new to AA and have never really dabbled in trade speculation, so feel free to tell me if this is a completely ridiculous question to ask.
