The Penguins were two time Stanley Cup champions. They finished the year 17-0-1. They rolled through the Devils in 5. The Isles mind you had some talent of their own however no Pierre Turgeon thanks to a Dale Hunter mugging, but we had something more. Here is what Glenn Healy had to say about the series:

“The Penguins were better than us for 82 games,” Healy said. “We just had to be better than them for 12 days. And anybody can be better than anybody else for 12 days.”

Something I noticed while watching the Rangers/Bruins Sunday night.

I first posted this on Facebook and suddenly my Ranger fan friends called to remind me who is going to the playoffs and who is getting a good draft pick. To which i insisted not to change the subject.

As I watch the Rangers play the Bruins on Versus, i still hear the echoing chant of Potvin sucks. It's amazing how angered the Ranger fans are that they never had a d-man like Potvin. It actually makes me kinda happy that after all of these years the slightest mention of his name still makes Ranger fans angry. It's been about 25 years since he retired and while a banner hangs in Nassau Coliseum, his name is still chanted in MSG.

Now I know this topic has been discussed before, and some felt it didn't bother them and some felt it did. I was the latter. I felt a Messier chant would be in order. Lately however my thoughts have changed and I actually enjoy the fact that they still cheer our Alumni....even if in a negative way.

More Coliseum trouble, asbestos concerns and a possible lawsuit against Nassau

Saw today on NBC at 6pm that there is an investigation about asbestos in the coliseum and something about the Feds and something about the oldest arena in America. Workers are filing a suit against Nassau County.

Suppose the Feds shut it down before 2015?

I know most people welcome a shot at Brooklyn but if an emergency did happen where would Los Isles play? MSG, Prudential Center?

Can we figure this is a good reason why Murry should be sent to Iraq for suggesting to renovate the Coliseum instead of just building a new one?

So how about we give the NHL a big thank you for showing the Islanders on the "History Will Be Made" with Wayne scoring on Smitty. So i unfortunately don't have access to the videos that the NHL does, but I do however love my Islanders.

So this is for all Islander fans out there. I also don't know if anyone else did one for the Islanders. Enjoy Bobby scoring on Peeters 30 years ago this month!!!
