To the NHL
In recent days we see so many complaints about NHL officiating. The game of Hockey is the great physical game which will not be the same without hits. It is a fact that NHL does a lot to make the game of Hockey safer and recent changes show it. However it is obvious that further complication of rules makes officiating more difficult than ever. Lately we have so many mistakes by referees which often decide games in wrong way.
Fortunately there are ways to address these issues and the main one is video review.
To make a game of hockey cleaner, safer and realy honest, we, the fans, asking:
1. Allow coach to challenge ONE of ANY calls to be video reviewed. If officials mistake is determined the call has to be overturned otherwise challenging team loses timeout.
2. Every call related to the goal or major penalty except fight can be challenged to be video reviewed without timeout loss.
We believe this will make the Great Game of Ice Hockey better, safer and more honest as well as officials will be more responsible for theit decisions.

Waiting for your comments,
thanks in advance
For those who remembers - Andrew Ladd named ATL Captain
For those who remembers 2006 - Atlanta Thrashers named two-time Stanley Cup winner Andrew Ladd their captain.

Andrew Ladd was a Cane in that great 2006 when he won his first Stanley Cup, then got the second in Chicago last season.
Andrew Ladd now has 18 points (7 goals) and leads the team in points, has -1 rating.
Congratulations to the former Cane!
CANES vs SKA online
Just noticed on NHL.com
http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=539309
For those who missed - SKA signed Maxim Afinogenov, Denis Grebeshkov and Evgeni Nabokov - so we may see known faces on the ice.
Fresh from Canes - http://hurricanes.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=539375&navid=DL|CAR|home
from KHL.ru - http://www.khl.ru/news/2010/10/2/28388.html (in Russian, but good pictures. To translate briefly - Canes arrived to St. Petersburgh Saturday, but did not go to the ice right from the plane and took a walk instead. First practice 11 AM local time Sunday, then another tour.)
From SKA website - Canes Practice: http://www.hc-ska.ru/gallery/showall/217.html (24 pix, site in Russian, but easy to navigate - the same type a galery as on Hurricanes.com, pictures are different - taken by Russian media)
From Russian Media (source- http://gazeta.ru/news/sport/2010/10/03/n_1555077.shtml), translated back from Russian, so my apologies if quotes are not exact words, but you may feel how Russian media cover the event.
1. Staal said he expects clear game, but if required - "We are ready to rumble".
CORRECTION : After listening http://downloads.hurricanes.nhl.com/audio/interviews/staal100310.mp3 it looks like it was actually a reporter who said it, not Staal.
2. Brind'Amour (also there) - again, translated back from Russian - Do not expect easy game from Carolina - this game is just an exhibition game, but the last one before the regular season, we will play with full force .
SENSATION? SLO 2:1 RUS (SO)
this time it went even deeper - all these Russians - G8, Kovy, Malkin were not able to do anything with Chara and Co. The only goal in regulation came from KHL-er Morozov while others were trying to show who is better shutter and noone wanted to go close to the net. As the result, the best line for Russians is their KHL line while NHL-ers do not deliver.
Slovaks were great and deserved 2 points putting Russia way back in standings. If it will be going this way Russians have no chance
SUI - 2 CAN ??? 2 after regulation,,,, OT and 3 on 4th SO... WOW?!
I would call it almost a sensation - SUI team managed to make 2:2 in the 2nd and practically dominated the 3rd period! Crosby and Co were looking like giants who forgot how to play. Hiller did incredible job stopping 44 of 46 (if I am not mistaken, but nhl.com says 45 of 47) . Despite plenty of PIM taken by SUI they somehow did allow just a single PPG. They even made 23 SOG - sort of average result for normal NHL game! Frankly they were looking like boys playing against men, but all the sudden these men decided that they are too old to play... so boys went ahead.
It was a few scary moments too - Rick Nash almost caught Hiller by blade driving the net the similar way like he did to Cam Ward this season. Fortunately no problem for Hiller this time, but it was scary.
After 2:2 in regulation, OT did not give the winner too.
Finaly Crosby (on 4thSO) put puck behind Hiller... but it was looking as luck... If something went wrong with team Canada?
What is also interesting - NHL.com shows on the top it was 2nd OT - in fact it was just 1 OT andthen SO same as for NHL regular season game, with exception that after 3 different players the same player can make another try - so Crosby was able to score it only from 2nd attempt...
