Should LGT have a Wiki?

I've been noticing, as new people come to the site -- and as old people come back from long absences -- there's a bit of animosity held toward the regulars here at LGT for being "elitist." Which, uh, we certainly can be. As with any group of friends -- or at least, people who interact on a semi-regular basis -- we've developed a tendency toward inside jokes and running gags, and we've also reached a certain point where we tire of certain arguments.

None of this is at all problematic, but it does make the learning curve fairly steep for new or long-absent members, and it can create a bit of an echo-chamber effect if we keep chasing out those who are newcomers who may not get that we just really don't need to talk about Brandon Phillips again, or who just doesn't understand why we need to HIRE MARIO'S SON.

Some of you may or may not know that I am an occasional commenter over at Red Reporter -- and you can just shush, Chuck -- and one thing that made my decision to begin commenting over there a lot easier is that they have a Wiki, which explains some of their inside jokes, what the history of some of their posters is (their E5s, if you will), and why they just really don't feel like beating the dead horse of whether or not Adam Dunn is actually good at baseball again.

Now, I understand taking a cue from our friends down south might not, necessarily, be all that appealing, but is it something anyone here might be willing to help me work on? I know there are a number of free Wiki-hosting & generating sites that we could use for this purpose, and having Wiki entries with former arguments pre-referenced might save everyone a lot of time. On the other hand, it does feel slightly self-aggrandizing. Your thoughts?

(And okay, most of the new people who can't backread aren't going to read the Wiki either, but sometimes you just need your memory jogged about where "demolish the bathroom" came from.)

Anyway, was uploading some stuff to my flickr from a game I attended tonight, and found a set from about 10 days ago when Louisville was in Indianapolis. I wish I could tell you I had Jay Bruce pictures, but all I really have is some pictures of jocular old relief pictures. Figured someone here might be interested though.

So I know I'm the only one here who cares about the ~*Battle for Ohio*~ with my wacky dual loyalties and all that, but is anyone else going to be in Cincinnati in two weeks to see the Indians play the Reds?

I'll be with my family so I don't know if I'll be able to get away to meet up, but I'll be at Saturday's game. Let me know if I need to keep an eye out for any of you.

How do you do it? What are my options for being able to follow the games. I could get the MLB.tv video package, but that seems pretty spendy. Is the streaming radio any good? Do we always get Hammy, or is it the same as with the streaming video of the games where you get the home team's announcers no matter what?

My dad seems to think I should get satellite radio and listen to that, but I'm not sure I'd use it for anything outside of baseball, and so the expenditure seems excessive, but I would be able to listen to baseball in the car on the rare times that happened, which is a plus.

This is my first year trying to follow the team from out of Ohio and I'm already worried I won't be able to pull it off.

What do you recommend for someone trying to watch the team from out of area who doesn't have a lot of extra cash lying around?

Hey, is anyone else going to the game this Saturday vs. Detroit?

I bought myself a ticket on a whim a week or so ago, partially because Detroit, and also because throwback jerseys and stupid bobbleheads! How can I say no?

Hopefully that's enough filler. Anyway, looking forward to hearing if anyone else will be there.

Just saw the news at indians.com. Rosario's an 18 year old pitcher from the Dominican Republic who has yet to play in the minor leagues.

According to the previously linked article

The 6-foot-4, 180-pound right-handed Rosario spent the last two seasons pitching for Seattle's Dominican Summer League team, where he went a combined 11-4 with a 3.01 ERA over 23 starts.

... and, of course, they don't know where we're going to put him.

Thoughts? Anyone?

Someone (I want to say Turkmenbashi, but I've got a memory like a goldfish) suggested we do diaries to see who's going to what games when, and since I'm trying to decide if I'm going to the Friday or Saturday (or none at all) game of the Indians/Reds series, I thought I'd see who all else is going and make my decision based on if anyone awesome will be there. :)

Also, as a bit of an aside, and I realize that this is probably not the place to ask, does anyone happen to know of any vegetarian restaurants in downtown Cleveland? Not restaurants with vegetarian options, but actual vegetarian restaurants. I'm... kind of a picky eater, and I want to know if I have to plan to pack myself some sandwiches for my trip (or if I must steel myself for meals made of naught but french fries) or if I can actually plan to eat out.
