Like we didn't expect Scioscia to get manager of the year. He did a great job this year, Congrats to Sosh and to the Angels. Today Mike Sciosca was awarded the 2009 American League Manager of the year.

LINK - to - STORY

It was Scioscia's second Manager of the Year award. He was named by the BBWAA in 2002, when the Angels claimed their first World Series title under his direction after entering the postseason as a Wild Card.

Former Dodger manager Jim Tracy too the honor in the National league.

I just stumbled upon another Blog site and I found some nice Vintage pictures of Anaheim Stadium in the inaugural season. I know it is a Doyers blog site, but I think the pictures are worth checking out especially if you want to see how the stadium looked when it first opened. It also has a picture of old Wrigley Field in Los Angeles where the Angels played their inaugural season.

I was just wondering if anybody else out there finds it hard to be a fan of any other team besides the Angels. I can't find it in me to be a fan of any other team in sports. I really like watching NFL football but I don't have 1 team I really like, like I do the Angels. I just really like to watch a good game between 2 teams. I don't have a second favorite baseball team like I know some people do. I do like the Twins as a team, I respect their play. But I wouldn't say I am a fan of theirs.

I have been a die hard fan of the Angels since the mid 1970's. I always had good experiences at Angels games. I remember throwing paper airplanes onto the field from way up in General admission. Popping the soda cups on the ground and making them bang and echo in the stadium after the game was finished. I just can't see me being a fan of any other team in sports.

Well we haven't talked about getting Johan Santana for a while. I would love to land him. What about a deal of Saunders/Santana, G. Matthews, and Aybar/Izturis. That gives the Twins a quality SS fills their CF hole and gives them a good young arm for their rotation. That would make us a strong World Series candidate with that rotation.

Lackey and Escobar. I was on their blog site and came across this: "I like our chances against the Angels as I think they are a very beatable team (does Lackey scare any Red Sox fan? How about Escobar? Didnt think so). I still worry about the Yankees as the Sox didnt show an ability to beat them in August or September in big games but I think the AL is wide open this year and hopefully the Sox stay on this roll and bring home another chanpionship."
http://www.overthemonster.com/story/2007/10/1/19163/5576

They don't even give us a chance they are already looking past the Angels at looking at the Yankees. Damn I hate Red Sox fans, they are so lame. I hope Lackey and Escobar pitch their games and we beat the Sox in Beantown.

Have you guys seen this ad here on Halos Heaven? I was looking at it and wondered what it was so I clicked on it. Is this a real sponsor? A gay community web site is our sponsor? I guess it pays the bills. Just hope no other fans from other teams sees it. I thought I saw Hillenbrand in one of the pictures on the website.

A story about my kids at a game

My ex wanted to take our 4 kids to a Dodger game {why she would want to do that was beyond me}. This was about 9 years ago and I have 3 girls and my boy, their ages at the time were 7,6, 3 and my son was 2. Well she knew I hate the Dodgers and when she told me she had taken the kids to a Dodger game I let her have it. Man was I mad. She knows the Angels are like a religion to me. I asked her "how would you like it if I took the kids to a Mormon church" { no offense to Mormons}. She said she wouldn't like that. I told her that's how I feel about taking the kids to Dodger stadium to see a Dodger game, unless it was to see the Angels play them. Well I didn't take the kids to another type of church other than her beliefs. But I did get her back another way. She had this phobia about cutting my oldest 2 daughters hair, they had never had a hair cut and she didn't want to have it cut. Stems back to when she was in school and she had funky hair and was self conscious abut her hair and didn't want the kids to feel that way too. Well I took them to a salon and had them cut off about 6 inches of hair off of both my daughters. Man was she pissed, it felt good to let her know I meant business about taking them to Dodger games. None of my kids have been back to Dodger stadium since. They all hate the Dodgers and are die hard Angels fans for life. Don't know where they got that from??

The Angels finally made it to #1 on their power rankings, lets hope they don't do what the Padres did when they took over the #1 spot last week. Lets go out and sweep the Dodgers!! I an not too excited about interleague play really but I like how the Angels are handling the weak NL.

Angels: Best START in franchise history

Ok ok the Angels have their best record at this point of the season in franchise history. It's June 15th the season started April 2nd and the media is saying they are off to their best start in franchise history? When does it not become a start to the season? Can't they be haviing their best season at this point of the season instead of having their best start ever? If it's September 3rd and the Angels have their winningest season ever are they still off to their best start? When is it not considered a start and when is it considered they are having a great season? I just think the season is well under way and not at the Start any more.

It's about time the Angels trade Figgins away. They already have Willits who is not going anywhere, leading off. They have GMJ in the order too, they have enough speed in the lineup. They can bring Wood up and they can get some needed pop in the lineup. Figgins has just over stayed his welcome and needs to move on. I hope nothing but the best for him but it seems he needs a new change of scenery. The team is playing real well right now minus Figgins so why not bring up Wood and let him play 3rd. With the way they are finally hitting it might be good for Wood to be in the line up right now. Don't get me wrong I love Figgy, He did some great things for the Angels. But sometimes you just need to move on.
