Evaluating Winn's trade value

The Cameron/Cabrera trade got me thinking a little about Randy Winn, a favorite of this here sites rosterbation fantasies, and his trade value. First, here is some info on Mike Cameron, Randy Winn and Melky Cabrera:

Cameron:

-Plays CF

-OPS: .837 in '06, .759 in '07, .809 in '08

-Entering Age 36 Season

-Under contract for 1 yr/$10 mil

Winn:

-Can play CF

-OPS: .721 in '06, .798 in '07, .790 in '08

-Entering Age 35 Season

-Under contract for 1 yr/$8.25 mil

Cabrera:

-Plays CF

-OPS: .752 in '06, .718 in '07, .614 in '08

-Entering age 24 season

I think we can agree Cameron is a better player but based on remaining cost, they are pretty much equal parts. So, it looks like the market value of Mr. Winn has been set-without picking up salary, it's a CF with limited/no upside*. (and I know how much we love those: I'm looking at you Mr. Roberts)

So, is it worth it to give Winn away to get Nate at-bats as an everday player? Possibly. I mean, no way. Actually, I'm not sure. So I open it up to the good people of the McCoven to convince me one way or the other. But the idea of Winn being a lynchpin in the Giants quest to find a viable corner infielder with some power seems to be a pipe dream.

*I'm aware that a lot of trade scenarios have included Sanchez or other young prospects combined with Winn. However, if this is the return a Randy Winn gets on his own in the trade market, I doubt he adds too much to those type of deals.

Wasn't home to watch the game so didn't follow along the gameday thread but Bochy and Jenkins need to go jump off a fucking bridge. Jenkins for writing a stupid fucking article and Bochy for reading it and thinking it fucking justifies leaving Lincecum in for 132 pitches. If that article doesn't run the last two days Tim doesn't start the 8th inning. There is NO reason for him to start the 8th inning. We fucking suck, we are going to fucking suck the rest of the year, we are probably going to suck next year. Is there an acceptable reason to have him pitch past the 7th? No. I haven't complained once about that big melon having motherfucker once this year but today shows he's an idiot. Get him and his ass out of town and send Bruce Jenkins to write for the Boise Times or whatever the fuck they call their shithole paper.

OT: Dark Knight

Chances are this thread will contain spoilers. Don't read if you haven't seen or will get angry.

Got to go see the flick last night, IMAX style. First, you must see this movie in IMAX. It is visually amazing. Second, it is long (about 2:30 hours), so be ready for that.

Overall, I enjoyed it. However, it was not quite as good as I was hoping it would be. It's weird to say this with the movie being so long, but it seemed like the last 20-30 minutes were rushed. I think they added one too many plot twists and the last one just didn't do it for me. Also, the movie is somewhat frustrating. You get to the point that (and I know it's a comic book movie) that it's not too believable. The way they keep falling for the Joker's tricks gets old after awhile. Common sense would eventually have to come into play, even in comic book land. As for the performances:

Ledger was amazing. I'm not the type to exaggerate people's accomplishments because they passed away, so when I say he made the movie he truly did. ******SPOILER ALERT******* I feel sorry for whoever has to follow in his footsteps. It's going to be extremely tough.

Bale was solid, he plays the aloof billionaire very well. Couldn't help but be reminded of American Pyscho with some of the scenes.

****Spoiler Alert*****Glad Maggie G. is dead. Didn't care for her acting and the idea that both Wayne and Dent would be in love with her is the biggest amount of make believe in the flick.

Supporting cast was also very good, no complaints about any of them.

Overall, I'd give it a B to B-, which is kind of disappointing since I was very excited to see the movie and was hoping is would be A+++.

Side note: Leaving the theater, I see out of the corner of my eye a guy in full on Joker make-up and dress. Scared the shit out of me.

Pablito to play in Future's Game

Catching prospect Pablo Sandoval has been added to the world team roster for the July 13 All-Star Futures Game in New York.

Combined with Angel, the Giants are going to have some serious beef on that World team. Combined with the two US reps, that makes 4 Giants in the game. Finally a reason to watch the stupid thing!

Interesting Cain/Lincecum Blurb

From Tim Kurkjian in ESPN the Mag:

Tim Lincecum is so good that a Giants teammate says his success on the mound has actually hindered Matt Cain's progress-because Cain is trying too hard to keep up with Lincecum.

Anyone believe this? I don't. Personally, I think too much is being read into Cain's slow start, which seems to be an annual occurance. Anyone think there might be some truth behind this?
