GAME THREAD - ALCS Game #6 - Boston @ Tampa Bay

WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!

Where is the coverage of game 6 of the ALCS. Instead TBS is showing some dumb show! Where is the game?!?!?! I'm pissed!

Hopefully this will show major league baseball what a joke TBS is for showing playoff games. Please go back to safe, reliable FOX, but get new broadcasters please!

Although this is pissing me off, I take heart in thinking about how pissed all those jackass Red Sox fans are.

While some of you might be gripping about the trade made today for Teixeira, let  me remind you of some of the events of this past offseason. When most of us on this site, myself included, where calling for a Cabrera trade, our new general manager sat back and let it pass. Most on this site, again myself included, thought that a trade which included Santana, and regrettably Kendrick plus others would be somewhat acceptable. Tony just sat back and let it pass. That would be one of the greatest decisions that he could have made with Santana in the Cy Young race and Kendrick who currently has the highest batting average in the AL.

Then came the Torii Hunter signing, which has turned out to be a great pick up especially in the clubhouse and the deal for Garland. Garland has not disappointed but not satisfied either. We gave up a quality SS but out minor league came through and we currently have two shortstops that have great potential as well as good production for this year. Two great moves.

Now this. This is one of the best rental trades that has come about in a long time. Now I have to say that I was put off by this trade at first because i've become a little attached to Kotch but this is defiantly an upgrade. With the other component of this trade a little known prospect, we came out of this trade the winners.

The main concern is can we resign him. If we can for a semi reasonable price, this trade would be one of the greatest made in the history of the Angels. If we don't resign him, we have morales waiting in the wings who has great potential and who many of us have already wanted in the bigs.

This last point is one that really turned me onto this trade. In terms of production in the current baseball season, TEX IS OUTPREFORMING BIG CAB. In both offence and of course defense tex has just been better. While tex has a lower batting average by .010, he has a greater OBP by .037. Then think of what we would have given up for both trades, Santana, Kendrick+ high level prospects vs. Kotch and a little known prospect.

All this leads me to conclude that Tony is a boss!

Being an Angels fan living in the bay area, I went to the Angels vs. A's game tonight. Thankfully we won due to great pitching. In about the fifth inning the A's put a George of the Jungle movies up (I think it was George) and as George was howling, put up the words, if you make noise he will come. I was stunned, then came an elephant doll on a stick "dancing around". All i could say was "you have got to be kidding me".

I'm just wondering if anyone else went to the game and saw it and what you thought of this

I don't think this has been a major discussion yet but I'm getting tired of A-Rod and the World Series just ended. I was just curious about who you guys think was juiced from Angels teams in the steroid era. I personally think that Glaus and Fullmer were definitely on something. Who do you think was on the juice on our beloved Angels?

Does anyone know if the Rockies-Padres game will be nationally televised? If so where?
With my remaining 300 characters I would like to officially tell the dude with the whistle at A's stadium to shut the hell up.

This may be an odd request but does anyone know the song that the Angels play in most of their videos and firework shows. I need it to harass (friendly) a huge a's fan.

As I am nowhere close to three hundred words, allow a little venting. A's fans might be the dumbest people I've ever met. I live in the bay area right in the back yard of the dreaded A's. I hate going to A's-Angles in Oakland because of that damn drummer in right feild, and what is up with the stupid flags. On top of that A's fans are the most homely people ever. The only reason for going is to see the A's get beat down by the Halos.
