Tony Gonzalez deserves more than a medal

I mean...the man is a force. Words can't describe how inspiring he is.

Man-crush aside, I hope he knows how much we appreciate his efforts in Kansas City. More off the field than on.

It's been a long time goal of mine to bring something truly great to KC, and seeing Tony work so hard to improve the image of this town is touching.

I will figure out a way to bring pride to Kansas City. I don't know how yet, but I am studying and devoting myself too it.

He's not even from around here. Him and his wife (as described by Tony) are truly special people who deserve nothing short of adulation and praise. We are blessed as a fanbase, city, and team to have him part of our family.

Thank you Tony, if only you read this.

Disappointment with the win?

Tony Gonzalez expresses disappointment with lack of record setting catch.

Dude...this is pretty serious.

I didn't think so until I watched that video.

I mean how much can you blame the coaches? They do bear much of it. A three yard flat route would have served the same purpose as a Larry Johnson smash. So why did they completely overlook that? And we knew Damon is capable of that pass...and he would've been a perfect representation of what Tony Gonzalez has been about.

Setting records with guys like Damon Huard.

So after watching the video and considering the matter, I found myself a little angry. And sad. And frustrated.

But the Chiefs have won a game and, well, that's very important. Kansas City, however, deserved to see that.

Herm's explanation will not be good enough.

And another note: Notice how Tony described the young players? They're giddy. They'll need a lot more focus to win on the road, however.

Is it really possible for the Chiefs to trade for Brady Quinn? The fans should be asking, "Is it possible for an individual to make a decision that will cripple the franchise?" The cost in draft picks -- two first day draft picks, by some estimates -- alone warrants apprehension. It would be irresponsible for the administration to spend that much on one player (an unproven one). This team needs the draft.

One can argue that Carl Peterson has an excess of cap space. The team could financially afford any number of personnel transactions. It's a philosophy for which Carl Peterson has been criticized before. Peterson, as well as Herm Edwards*, are trying something new for Kansas City. For the process to work, however, those high draft picks are important.

Does it matter that Tyler Thigpin might be a terrible quaterback? Not really; the team's investment is elsewhere. What does matter is that we know now that Thigpin is not ready for the NFL. And in Herm colloquial, "That's OKAY!"

Kansas City Chiefs fans asked for change. They're getting it, and now it's up to them (us) to at least support the players. The only comparison, and it's cliche and lame, is with the military and the war. We have to support the "soldiers" that play on Sunday^.

Go Chiefs!

*Herm doesn't register as a word for in-text spell check.
^Totally weak analogy. My apologies to any servicemen or women who may be offended.

What gives? Thirty-one year old.

What the f*ck? Someone tell me why he's so bad, and also why he's still in the lineup.

Let's hear it.

We hear his name mentioned, but there's no highlight of it. I watched the Raiders game, and he was getting beat repeatedly.

I need to fulfill a word limit, and I will do less of this in the future. For now, though, contemplate this guy and his career. How did he even get here?
