They got Herndon from the Angels, who picked him in the sixth round in 2006. They also lost RHP Carlos Monasterios to the Mets.

One less bullpen arm for the Phils. Unconfirmed reports are saying it's for three years. If that's true, I'm kinda glad the Phillies didn't go there.

I'm not sure that AOL Fanhouse writers are the most reliable, but let's assume for a second this is true. Is this even remotely a good idea? I understand he's due a raise and all, but I'd have to think that there's no way Amaro would trade a relatively cheap, durable MOR starter.

A good writeup by Joe Posnanski about the whole Ibanez/steroids mess, complete with the best Ibanez defense I've heard yet.

It's even better because the writer seems to keep a level head about both sides and doesn't degenerate into soapbox polemic. Great piece.
