Ok but you've got a vested interest... :)

It just sounds unlikely that him passing out was completely unrelated to the weight cutting process...

Edit timeout...

As plenty of ppl have stated, some guys will just dehydrate to make the fight-day weigh in and try to rehydrate before the fight.

He's flashy and doesn't have the best fight IQ.

I can't even call up a visual in my mind of what he looks like. The guy is so "under the radar" - he should go full Conor.

I don't have any problem with Faber in title fights, and if he earns one vs TJ, great for him and the fans - it'll sell.

Yep - I like it
Commented on UFC 177: Dillashaw vs. Soto results - Fights to make for main card fighters on Sep 1 2014, 2:35a
For better or worse, I don't think you can give a guy an immediate title shot if he was injured and away for 2 years+.
Commented on UFC 177: Dillashaw vs. Soto results - Fights to make for main card fighters on Sep 1 2014, 2:35a
We just don't know if the injuries and time out have slowed him down or dulled his edge though.

TJ just made money, did the UFC a huge favor, and earned another title fight win.

I think he shellacked Barao so hard, and Barao had such a strong record leading into that fight...

maybe 1-2 can't get it right, but everyone is suffering every fight because the rules currently encourage it.

What is so hard about the tester bringing a scale when he bails you up for some blood and piss?
Commented on Multiple weigh-ins: A proposal in the interest of the health and safety of mixed martial artists on Sep 1 2014, 12:49a
If you have random weight checks during camp along with the random drug checks, with penalties including loss of purse or removal from fight (if too far from right weight)...
Commented on Multiple weigh-ins: A proposal in the interest of the health and safety of mixed martial artists on Sep 1 2014, 12:45a
If the whole idea of weight classes is that guys of the same weight get in the cage together, weight cutting is cheating the spirit of the whole weight class rule

I don't think people will be LESS fans of Dillashaw after this:

I suppose champ' with the apostrophe is technically acceptable (for omitted letters in champion) but it sure looks weird, and champ is normally seen without it.

It's been said that TJ helped Faber train for Cruz, but emulating Cruz's style. And some of it may have stuck.

Correct- each event should have had plan B's in case bad things happen to both cards

I think if the fighter doesn't accept a lower ranked replacement, it's pretty poor form and appears cowardly

OK that's fair enough. The average may be around 2.3 fights per year. Perhaps 2.5 for lower level guys and less for higher level.

In another comment I calculated entry level UFC fighter pay at around $55k per year, for only working half the year.

You can thus work out the "fair" rates for each of the higher level fighters in the top 4 fights, if you assume 50/50 split with the promotion

If a fighter is homeless, it's no fault of the UFC... it's on him for not choosing a steady job like flipping burgers to pay the rent.

The "FAIR" portion you describe is a completely arbitrary % which no-one can define in a satisfactory manner.
