Roll 'Bama Roll Athlon and Lindy's

2011 SEC football magazines are out. Athlon has BAMA #1 and Oklahoma #2 (Lindy's has it the other way around). Athlon has 6 SEC teams in the top 25: BAMA #1, LSU #8, Georgia #14, Arky #16, Florida #18 & South Carolina #21. Guess which defending National Champion didn't even make the top 25? Gotta love it! (I think Lindy's has Awbarn at #24). I haven't had time to read the whole article on BAMA yet, but they did say we had the best linebackers and defensive backs in the country. The rest of the top 10: Oregon #3, Florida St. #4, Boise St. #5, Notre Dame #6, Virginia Tech #7, Ohio State #9, Nebraska #10. I know the pre-season mags don't mean much but they sort of mark the beginning of the season in a way and get me excited again. Roll Tide!!!!

Nothing worse than a drunken Nitt staggering up and down the sidelines. I guess the thought of PSU having to face #1 BAMA in Tuscaloosa drove the poor guy to drink!

This is a pretty good article by Steve Yanda of the Washington Post. It describes the two laws passed in the last decaded that were intended to clarify what constituted permissable contact between agents and student athletes and why they have been ineffective. Here is the link:

Roll 'Bama Roll They should know better

NAIROBI, Kenya – Somali pirates attacked the Maersk Alabama on Wednesday for the second time in seven months, though private guards on board the U.S.-flagged ship repelled the attack with gunfire and a high-decibel noise device.

This is the same ship that was attacked last Spring where the captain was taken hostage and the Navy Seal sharpshooters killed all three hijackers. These dumb-ass pirates should know better than to attack a ship named "Alabama"!  I guess they never learn.......Roll Tide!
