Sadly, of all the Packers who might have been dumb enough to have forgotten their ID before entering a highly secured Federal building, it would have to be an Old Blue.

Hadn't seen it mentioned on the site yet, but this bit of news jumped right out at me this morning.

Geez, this kid is even worse on following through than Sarah Palin!

Why throwing at Yank-me players might not be a bad thing...seriously though, when Major League Baseball tries to get behind its RBI program (Reviving Baseball in the Inner Cities), it doesn't help when it's supposed marquee team decides to screw the kids.

California Golden Blogs TV for Saturday's game...

Aggies vs Golden Bears coverage

Having traded DirecTV for Verizon Fios, I'm now discovering that Fios doesn't carry Comcast Sportsnet Bay Area.  :o(  OTOH, it goes get Versus, FWIW but that doesn't really help me at this point.

Anyway, any possibility to see the game on-line via outlets like Justin TV or can the game be ordered on-line somehow?  Or, is there some way to order the game through Verizon?

I suppose it's karmic payback for preferring an all-inclusive internet/phone/TV package versus my ability to see Cal sports.  :oP

California Golden Blogs "I'm not pointing fingers at anyone in particular, but I know it had to come from Cal somewhere. It really hurt my feelings."

The fall, and rise, of Eagles' DeSean Jackson

Wherein, DeSean complains that someone at Cal called him selfish...from Sunday's Los Angeles Times Sports Section:

Jackson, who left school a year early, disputes that he was anything but a team player, and the ensuing tension apparently is one of the reasons that during TV introductions he says he's from Long Beach Poly High, rather than Cal.

"I have a lot of love for the Golden Bears," Jackson said recently. "I was upset and disappointed with the rumors that came out when it came time for me to enter the draft. There were a lot of negative things said about me that hurt me, that I wasn't a team player and I didn't work hard.

"I'm not pointing fingers at anyone in particular, but I know it had to come from Cal somewhere. It really hurt my feelings. It's no disrespect to Cal. I just feel coming from Long Beach Poly was a huge step for me to make it to the NFL."

The Eagles certainly didn't ignore what they were hearing, but they also did their own homework on him and decided Jackson would be a good fit with them. Coach Andy Reid said Cal Coach Jeff Tedford "shot me straight about the kid."

Ok, if Tedford set Reid straight about Jackson, why is it that DeSean still grinding his axe?

Tedford IS the program IMHO, and anyone else who might be bitching about Jackson wouldn't necessarily be directly connected with the program, no?  Ironically, by the manner in which he carped about his Cal experience, he basically confirmed that perhaps his cabal was behind the poisonous atmosphere that took hold of the team over the final games of 2007.  In many respects, after seeing this in the LA Times today, I'm just happy he wasn't around last year.
