A request from the MU Volleyball team twitter feed. The spirits demand it.

From Kimmie's twitter feed. Hopefully he doesn't shut us out permanently by deleting his twitter feed again.

How bad does it feel writing about a team that hasn't won a World Series since 1908? Seriously, what do you even have to talk about besides how bad the Little Bears are? Mike Rottch, Columbia, Mo. Answer: Not as bad as it feels being stuck in Columbia, Mo., where you have nothing to talk about but the pizza at Shakespeare's, which is quite good, by the way.

Paul Sullivan's Cubs Mail Bag Don't get uppity on this guy. He'll burn you!

Indy Star ruffles the feather of Coach K

In-laws came into town yesterday with one of the copies of this. I'm not recycling it at all.

When I was in Ireland last summer, found this pub in Cork. Didn't know Pat had kin there.

Recruiting a 5th Grader

1

From the Chicago Tribune, a story on a 10 year old possible basketball phenom. I know it's how the wind is blowing, but this kinda makes me sick.

Mitchell demands your respect

46

From the DMN...I hope he qualifies.

More on the One and Done

13

Commentary on the One and Done rule and its effect on teams. I have never been a fan of this rule, but am of the crowd that is in favor of the baseball rule (go to the MLB, or sit three years in college). Promoted to front page!

More Spoon Draft Info

+

This site hold Spoon in high regard. Would like to see some easy number comparisons to past LB's, but overall great info.

Sometimes when Will Ebner tackles people, I think they are going to explode on impact. And Gachkar is a cool name for someone who hits people hard.

Combine Winners and Losers

+

From the Sporting News, SPPOOOONNN is listed as one of the "winners" from the Combine. Scroll back one page for the offense, were Dez and Colt are among the "losers."

I swiped this from my buddy's Facebook...I found it funny. Happy Friday.

Gregory at the Combine

From MU's Twitter, a blog post (from Tulsa World) on Kurtis Gregory. You may have to scroll down some to get to it.

Texas PG out for season

4

the WWL is reporting that Texas PG Dogas Balbay has a torn left ACL. As someone who blew out his, this really sucks for Balbay. As for the Longhorns, a big blow to their guard rotation.

SI's weekly bracket

Mizzou is at 6 in the Midwest, starting with St. Mary's. The kicker for this one is that UConn and UNC have been dropped. If this holds up, I'm sure anarchy will reign.

Mike Celizic is pissed.

7

Celizic, the in-house sports commentator for MSNBC, pulls no punches in this article concerning Tim Tebow (and mother)'s Super Bowl ad. It does offer a interesting question. Will Tebow's unrelenting acts of faith, harm his draft stock more than his arm? Or better, will anyone say such a thing?

SPOOOON and Briggs are pals

1

Article from The Sweet Home Chicago Tribune, talking about the Spoon. I find the notion that Spoon should have left early repulsive, maybe that's because I believe in graduating.

OT: Conan's getting the last laugh?

10

This morning's news (non-sports section) tells us that Conan and his staff are getting 45 MILLION DOLLARS (/upthrust pinky) to stop doing the Tonight Show. In response to getting fired, Conan's going to spend more money...the link is to the Huffington Post, showing one such spree.

OT: Conan gives NBC "the finger"

9

Conan's response to NBC's request to move his show back a half-hour to allow the network to continue to control Leno. Kudos to Conan for showing stones and letting the world know why. How is it Mizzou related? Um...Conan and I both have ancestors from Munster, as does, um...dammit, read the article.

Sporting News Breaks Down Spoooooooon

1

Not sure if I completely buy all of the analysis here. Perhaps because I'm a homer, or perhaps these people generally over-analyze everything. Regardless, Spoon is good, will be drafted, and we'll all be happy. [Promoted for Front Page Friday!]

Tide LB wins Butkus Award

1

Alabama's Rolando McClain has won the Butkus Award for top LB. SPOOOOOOOOOOOON was a finalist. It's cool that the McClain was notified that he won by Butkus in person...it's lame that Sean didn't win.

Big 12 BB Recruiting Grades

+

I don't recall if this was linked before, but here's the grades that were assigned to Big 12 teams regarding the men's basketball early signing period.

Let's talk Heisman

With the winding down of the year and the beginning of award season to really start up, I figured it be a good time to start thinking about your Heisman talk.  I know Bill and RPT and such could do...

Hawkins to keep job

From SI's Mandel, Danny-boy is getting one more year.

I hate the world

I'm going to my in-laws in Indiana for Thanksgiving, and just looked at the coverage map for this weekend...worth getting a divorce over?

Nebraska...idiots.

2

This is from the BCS's twitter site and the Times...written my the chancellor of Nebraska-Lincoln.

New BB Tigers

The official release from the MU tigers about the three early signers for Men's BB. [Promoted for Front Page Friday!]
