MLB ticket prices infographic - Astros lowest
A friend just sent me this link, which ranks MLB teams by ticket prices. Surprised to see the Astros have by far the lowest prices.

I don't think we'll see too many categorical blanket denials of PED use in the future.
Roger Clemens: Your 2008 Bum Steeroid of the Year
In addition to occupying a back row seat in the Crawfish Boxes, I'm also the principal writer for Texas Monthly's Bum Steer Awards. Usually my editors choose the Bum Steer of the Year after I'm done with my part of the work. However, this year I felt the choice was so compelling that I had to speak up. Their choice was going to be President Bush. I'm proud to say that they ultimately went my way.

Miggy's in deep now
Yuck. When Congress asks the Justice Dept. to investigate you for perjury, well, let's just say there are better ways to start your day. Story here

Now it can be told
Texas Monthly magazine runs an annual Bum Steer Awards issue - dubious achievement awards for Texas newsmakers. I'm a contributor to that article every year. Mostly I write the jokes, but I also suggest items for inclusion. This year I submitted an item completely sourced from Crawfish Boxes. Search fails to find the original post or comment, but right after Clemens shut it down in the playoffs due to injury, someone posted something brilliant about him playing in a charity golf tournament in Houston the following weekend. It's on page 111 of TM, which if it isn't already out, should be soon. So, thanks for whoever wrote the post, and here's to the best online community an Astrolholic could have.

Provocative Aside/Bitch-Slap of Drayton from Gammons
I'm not an ESPN "Insider," so I don't know if he follows up the thought, but here's the lede of a recent Peter Gammons column from here:
You can stop at the Grand Canyon, or maybe Zion on the off-day drive. And while you're out there on the run from Phoenix to Denver, you can think about where the Texas Rangers might be today had Tom Hicks listened to former Rangers GM Doug Melvin instead of talking heads. Or how the Orioles might actually be relevant if Peter Angelos listened to anyone. Or what the Houston Astros might be with rational ownership.
