I think this makes signing Smaby and Murphy a huge priority.   Even with those 2 signed that gives us 4 defensemen for next year's roster.  Assuming we draft Hedman, that is 5.

That makes 6 up for grabs between Lashoff (assuming we sign him), Mihalik, Lundin, Wishart, Quick, Welch and Petiot (assuming we sign those last 5).

God help us.  =)

I'm sorry to say, but Lukowich, Kuba, Picard and OB look pretty good right about now.

And just FYI, we have 14 forwards under contract, however that list does include Vrbata, Bochenski, and Konopka.
