Bloody Elbow Fedor Vs. Barnett under the PRIDE banner??

How cool would that be, Fedor's contract with Strikeforce is only North American Exclusive. Dana wouldnt really care if M1 Co-Promoted with the PRIDE brand. Sign Barnett, if Barnett beats Fedor then the UFC has the new #1 HW in the world under their contract. If Barnett loses to Fedor then no big deal, UFC didnt have alot invested in him anyway. High Reward - Low Risk

plus you can fill the card with PRIDE superstars like Shogun, Vandy, Gomi, etc. The possibilites are endless, and for more one time the PRIDE rules live again. Shogun by headstomp ftw!

How does a card like this sound:

Fedor vs. Barnett

Cro Cop vs. Aleks 2

Wanderlei vs. Mousasi

Big Nog vs. Overeem

Shogun vs. Babalu

Thoughts?

Bloody Elbow Vote & Discuss: UFC Counterprogramming from a business perspective; What is a success?

From Scott Haber's FanShot:

"As has been their custom in the past, the UFC will be counter-programming Strikeforce: Miami with a 2.5 hour Spike TV broadcast of selected fights from December's UFC 107: Penn vs. Sanchez."

My Question:

What percentage of an audience makes a counterprogramming of past matches successful? Say Strikeforce gets X amount of viewers (lets say 100, im just using a round number) UFC 107 replay gets Y
(again as an example lets use 45) .

In my example, The UFC has counter-programmed 45% of the MMA audience from the live event. Is this a success? or at what percentage does it need to be to be successful against a live program.

Im not a business major but my guess would be 40%, if you get 2 out of every 5 MMA fan watching your reruns you have done a good job at least in the business perspective.

Arrrrgh!  What say ye tho?

MMAmania.com A new formula for P4P Rankings

My formula is:

When you consider P4P you have to consider Dominance of the past 18-24 months & Strength of Recent Opponents

Therfore my Top 10 would be:

1: Anderson Silva - demolishes everyone he touches
2: Lyoto Machida - still undefeated with a list of who's who's of victorys including Rua, Evans, TSilva, Ortiz
3: GSP - utter dominance at WW but hasnt done enough weight moving to qualify him for top 2 P4P
4: BJ Penn - unstoppable at 155, has had varied success moving around weight classes in the past. 2X W vs Gracie L Machida 2X L GSP
5: Fedor - using my formula its reasonable for the MMA HW champ to be right around at #5. Arlovski was quality and Rogers was nice but he has yet to be recently tested by someone in his prime (Arlovski was name power and Rogers is still fairly green) Fights against the likes of Overeem, Mir, Lesnar and possibly Velasquez would be fairly interesting.
6: Cristiane 'Cyborg' Santos: if you can get past the whole pit bull with lipstick thing shes currently the G.O.A.T. in female fighting. take that with a grain of salt tho as womens mma is still young
7: Jon Fitch - nothing awe-inspiring from Mr. Decison lately but he is fighting the best (Pierce was in injury replacement keep in mind) and is 11-1 in the UFC
8: Frank Mir - Loves to prove the critics wrong, in my opinion one of the smartest fighers in the game today and Fedors worst stylistic matchup. Post Roethlisberger Murr took some time to get back but he is back for sure. TKO's over Noguiera and Kongo helped as well.
9: Jake Shields - Fine fine, JS gets a nod as the 185 SF champ, but for a normal WW to come in and take the MW title is more of a knock at the weak class of fighters in that divison. fights with Cung Le, Josh Koscheck and Fitch are probably on his horizon. Quality win over Paul Daley as well
10: TIE; Dan Henderson/Forrest Griffin - Hendo is probably the best chance for a 3 belt title holder we will ever have (unless Barnett shares with BJ) and if you can look past Grif's ugly loss to AS and see how good his fights with Rampage and Evans (until he got caught) plus that beating he game Rua looks better and better now.

Keep in mind im not very knowleable about the lower (WEC) weights so i confined my personal P4P to UFC weights 145-265. feel free to disagree or agree, just please dont be too harsh on me lol i am just hu-man.
