NY Islander fan since 1976 when I saw Denis score against LA in the Forum while I was in the US Navy. Who would have thought we would have been able to draft El Nino AND Kirill the Krazy!!! Let's restart the Drive for Five!!! Currently living in NW BC AKA Luongoland. Damn you, Mad Mike!!!

The Road to Minneapolis: My Take on the 2011 Draft
I've been dismissive of trading for an established player like Stastny, but Garth keeps talking about it, so who knows? My preference is for Larsson and I just have a feeling Garth will get him, but Dougie H is the more likely outcome. We'll see.

THN Article on Our Goalie Man Montoya
There's also a video interview with Grabs at the end.
Madoff to Nystrom?: Say It Ain't So, Bobby!
The lawsuit on behalf of Madoff's victims now includes Bobby N.
Mika Zibanejad, C – Djurgarden (Swe.)
The Swedish kid with Finnish and Iranian roots is one of the hottest prospects around right now. He was first star of the game in a recent win over Frolunda and launched John Klingberg into the bench for good measure. The fact two dozen NHL scouts were in attendance means the youngster has great timing, too. Draft eligible in 2011.
We need a Swedish-Finnish-Iranian center to make this truly a polyglot team!!!
A Potential Choice for the Second Pick
This guy is scoring at more than a point a game, is big, and is obviously someone who will have his linemate's back.
Been talking up Mika Zibanejad as a player to move back up into the first round to get after hopefully drafting Larsson. It will take maybe two years, but he has all the makings of a bonafide top two center. I knew about his elite level skill, but this video shows that he has some sandpaper to his game as well.
Over the last two seasons, the Isles' duo of Moulson and John Tavares has scored more goals (100) than Chicago's Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane (93). …

Larsson Back From Injury
Be interesting to see if his game picks up now that he is over the injury.
Islanders Get Some Love
Most bang for their buck players.
Montoya Could Become A Special Player On The Island Too
He deserves the same shot Matt, RSH, PAP, and Grabs have had.

NBC Sports on Lemieux's Comments
Shero "talked" to Cooke. Guess that showed him!
Mild Fischler Rebuke of Mario
But you should have seen him during the second intermission of the Carolina-Devils game. He was absolutely livid tearing into Lemieux and the Pens. When Daneyko tried to give Talbot some credit for answering the bell with Haley, Fischler lit into him as well and started talking about the Martin imbroglio when he went turtle. Great TV!
Oil Tank in High Gear
Their announcers and analysts were going on and on about the total lack of effort and commitment from all but a very few players. Check out their SOG for the game. If hockey karma is working, we will jump over them in the lottery.
MacArthur figured nights like that emerge if the players don’t think the referees are meting out proper justice or even if the players think the league doesn’t do enough in terms of supplemental justice. "They probably felt nothing was done after the (Max) Talbot hit on (Blake) Comeau," said MacArthur. "In hockey, you always talk about discipline coming from the league. If there’s no discipline on that, teams take it into their own hands. It’s good those guys stuck up for each other."

Awesome quote from Clarke MacArthur. Maybe Garth should trade for him. Sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders. Check out Damien Cox on Twitter. Even more of an idiot than usual.
