My Favorite Players are: Justin Morneau, Danny Valencia, and Jim Thome. My All-Time Favorite Players are: Kirby Puckett, Harmon Killebrew, Tony Oliva, and Lou Gehrig.
Morneau represents to me, everything I strive for in life. A hard working individual who takes each day as it comes. Most often he succeeds, but he realizes failure is part of life and part of the learning process, which not too many people understand. Morneau is a great teammate on and off the field and the Twins had better not lose him. Morneau is a hero in every sense of that word.
As for myself: I am in college in Atchison, Kansas at Benedictine College. My profile name: BCTwins - Benedictine College Twins. I hope to major in American History with minors in Vocal Performance and Politics. Atchison is about an hour north of Kansas City, Kansas - and it is here that I shall be spending a certain day in September of 2010 when the Twins play the Royals.

Fixing the Twins Pitching
It has been such an ugly season for the starting staff. Right now, only Scott Diamond and P.J. Walters have had any consistency! P.J. Walters has only made one start too, so the critic line is still far out on him - but hey, just about anybody would be better than most of our starters at this point. I wonder if Ramon Ortiz or Livan Hernandez are still out there?
The Twins need some new faces on their starting staff, but AAA has been drained (at least of all their relatively good starters), and there appears to be no hope on the horizon for this current situation. So, how can we fix the staff without making some extreme moves that may affect the future seasons of the Twins (i.e. trading Span/Willingham).

2011 Twins Team Revised
So, since there hasn't been anything else to think about in the Twins world recently, I have been mulling over what could have been. What trades could not have been made that would have put the Twins in a much better position to win.
First, we must accept the trades of Santana and Garza, and the subsequent trade of Gomez for Hardy. In order for the scenarios to work, those must be accepted. Indeed, all of the trades up until the deadline of last year must be accepted.
MLB.tv
I come seeking assistance. I bought the yearly MLB.tv subscription in March of this year, but as I am a college student, I do not get to watch too many games, and those that I do have time to watch are always blacked out. I wish to cancel my subscription, but the refund policy confuses me a little bit. My question is, can I get any sort of refund on it at all or am I on the books for it all?
Thanks for your help!
Pat Neshek Traded To Padres
According to his facebook profile, Pat Neshek says that he has been traded to the Padres. Best of luck Pat!
2011 Twins Plan
I do believe that this is my first FanPost under my new name, BCTwins. As I am sure many of you know, I am the former blogger named: 33MorneauMVP. For those rookies to this site, I have been a proud member and contributor to this site since basically its earliest stages of existence.
Trade Candidates 101
How can Bill Smith and the Front Office improve the Twins? What do the Twins really need the most? Jesse and company are doing their own Trading Deadline look-back/run/previews - so I apologize if I bore you; however, I thought I would post my modest and simple version of what I see as the most pressing need/s on the Twins.
The Twins are currently in 3rd place with a record of 51-45, 2.0 games behind the AL Central leading Chicago White Sox. While fans have witnessed some pretty amazing comebacks by the Twins, I believe that this is the year to win it all. This team has good talent, good enthusiasm, good bats, some good pitchers...a few minor improvements should send this team to the AL Central favorites and possible ALCS favorites.

Trades and DFA
The Twins, as of right now, are a really good baseball team. They swept a contending team, Texas, at home in the last series. They have won 2 of 6 games, thanks to Kubel, against the Evil Eastern Empire. However, the Twins, if lucky enough to win the Central Division, still do not have what it takes to beat the Yankees/Tampa Bay in the first round. So, a trade idea and some DFA options after the jump....

Fun with Twins Nicknames
Often times, on the game threads, we often invoke to power of the Twins hitters with their nicknames. Thus, I have compiled the popular Twins nicknames....after the jump.
Royals vs. Twins Game Thread
Twins score on a Orlando Hudson Homer in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Twins @ Angels Game Thread
Twins have just taken the lead in the top of the fifth inning...

ESPN Draft Results
Knowing that we have a very knowledgeable group of writers on TwinkieTown, I thought I would post one of my ESPN leagues draft results for my team. I would like some input into my choices, whether they were solid choices, etc....
So, results after the break...
The Engaged Mauer
Within the last few days, Mauer proposed and now is engaged to be married to Stefani Germanotta, 24...
Twins vs. Mets
The Twins will face LHP Johan Santana for the first time since trading him to the Mets for Carlos Gomez, Philip Humber, Kevin Mulvey, and Deolis Guerra.
Now, however, only Deolis Guerra remains of that original trade as Mulvey has been traded to the Dbacks for Rauch, and Gomez to the Brewers for Hardy.
Johan Santana - J.J. Hardy, Jon Rauch, and Deolis Guerra
(NOTE FROM RANDBALL'S STU: thanks to 33MorneauMVP for posting the game thread while I searched fruitlessly for the Twins starting lineup on the Intarwebs. Stupid Tradition Field wireless is apparently to blame. Carry on with your day.)
Lineups after the jump.
Twins Scouting Heath Bell
The Minnesota Twins are scouting Padres closer Heath Bell extensively for a possible trade. The Twins will determine if they need a closer once they know Nathan's status at the end of the week.
March 9 - Cardinals vs. Twins
Twins appear to have the lineup on the field that we will most likely see throughout the season.
Lineups after the jump....
Twins Towers
I am sure that most of the bloggers on TwinkieTown have read J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Anybody remember the second book in LOTR: The Two Towers? Also, I am sure we all remember the famous World Trade Center Steel Behemoths: The Twin Towers. Well, as I surfed around on several Twins sites today, I came across the Twins Towers.
More after the jump....
Reds interested in O-Cab
Please Cincy, take O-Cab!! Twins fans would hate it if the FO re-signed him to play 2B!
Tejada Agrees to One Year Deal
Miguel Tejada agreed to a one year deal with the Baltimore Orioles today. The only reasonably cheap Free Agent 3B left for the Twins to sign would be Joe Crede. Personally, I would prefer the Twins chase Hudson or Lopez and then maybe take a flier on Crede - never hurts!
Fixing the Twins
The Twins are still seeking to improve the club; yet, the payroll is getting in the way. Right now, according to Jesse's payroll analysis, the Twins have about $87.245 million locked up in their roster, minus Clay Condrey and Brian Duensing - so lets assume that the payroll, without any more additions, would be about $88.5 million. Word is that the Twins payroll could be $95 million this 2010 season. If that is the case, it leaves the Twins FO with $6.5 million, roughly.
What can the Twins obtain for $6.5 million?
Buscher Finds a Job
Buschman finds a Minor League contract with...the Indians!
Twins May Target Rich Harden
Not that I believe anything Kelly Creamcakes has to say, but this will make for an interesting speculation thread. Also, notice the pun in the Title..Twins may Target, lol. Ok, maybe not.
Blockbuster Trade in the Works?
Thrylos98 at his twitter account claims to have inside information that a blockbuster deal is in the works between the Marlins and the Twins. He has heard that the Twins will be acquiring 2B Dan Uggla and SP Ricky Nolasco.
The Target and Future Start Today!
"You hear about the future, the future. I don't know who gets to decide when that is or when they think that is...You have a core of a lineup that can compete with anyone in the league. One of the best closers in the game. Young starting pitching that might be missing one veteran guy to show them the way...It makes a difference to have someone like that.'' - Justin Morneau
Rays close to dealing Akinori Iwamura
Could this unnamed team possibly be the Twins? I certainly hope so...
Twins Outright Brian Buscher
The Twins have outrighted Brian Buscher to Triple-A Rochester this afternoon. He can become a minor league free agent 15 days after the conclusion of the World Series. Do not expect Buscher to remain with the Twins.
Target Offseason
With the Twins headed to Target Field in 2010, they should focus on fixing and filling the glaring holes that they have on their team. With the burden of the dome off their backs, Target Field will bring in additional revenue for the Twins to use in the upcoming years, but for this offseason, why not spend a little more then your payroll? The Twins managed to sneak away with the Central Division in Game 163, but they lacked fire power in the NY series (again!), going 3 and out. The Twins must fix their needs this offseason in order to bring October Baseball into Target Field in its opening year.

And THAT Happened!
Chip Carey and Ron Darling should team up with this guy to become the most annoying/hilarious baseball team announcers of all time!
