Cincy Jungle Would Ravens sit everyone if....???

I know everyone is saying the Ravens have a lot to play for this weekend but...If i am looking at the right , wouldnt an early game win by the Patriots and a loss by the Steelers guarantee that the Ravens win the division and would be the # 2 seed no mattter what?. I know that Houston is the three for sure so if New England wraps the one up and the Browns ( i know big if ) win i cant imagine the Ravens playing one starter

Cincy Jungle WHO HATES BENGALS MORE, STEELERS OR JOE REEDY?

I just cant take Reedy anymore. He is so negative and uninformed it sad he represents this city as one of our reporters.  He only spews negative spins and regurgitates stats about how bad the Bengals and Mike Brown have been. We all get it,  was blah, blah, blah.. I think a writer should call out the bad with the good, but he offers no insight and if you read his tweets, blogs and articles you would swear he roots against the Bengals. Today he said to say goodnight when we went down 17. His call was almost was as bad as the no TD call. When they do good he acts like he saw it coming like he is Nostradamus. Many people call him out but I just wish our own writer can see that each year is different in the NFL and this team is different too. Please inform the public Joe and keep your hatred of the Bengals to yourself

Cincy Jungle WHY WE COULD BE BETTER THEN 2009 PLAYOFF TEAM

I know I am glass half full and some would say with moonshine butI I really think we could be better then that 2009 mirage.

1. Defense

Zimmer and Lewis have basically said this could be one of the best they have had. I will take our D line now over 2009. The lb crew is not even an argument that we are better now especially with Rey in his natural position and the vet pick ups. That leaves the secondary which is the same minus JJ which I still have to remind people isn't the second coming and couldn't tackle very well.

2.Defense

Every thing i have heard the o line is our most improved position. And lets be honest 2009 literally didn't have TE and Ocho and friken Coles were  the WR's. I will take this receiving core every time. Same running game and that leaves Carson and Brat. I don't want to hear about how you cant win with a rookie QB . Many teams have done it and let me tell you that not having BRAT and the worst offense in the league the last 6 weeks of 2009 year i would give almost anything Dalton does an edge.

All the people that think you cant win with youth that is excited to play and think JJ was the second coming please join Peter King and all of the power rankings people at the go blow me table

Cincy Jungle Great Offseason for the Bengals

All I read is that we are ranked 32nd by every fool in the media. Its not suprising becuase we lost "names" with star power and are replacing them with youth. These names had little football value anymore and actually weree a major problem . So what has happened since last year.'

Draft

One of the best in years.. How many times do you get a a superstar wr, possible franchise QB and freak LB in the first three rounds

FA

Bengals are improved by amile at LB. Lawson and Howard are solid LBs and Rivers has been a bust

We resigned everyone but JJ. Yes he was good but please he was an avg tackler at best so lets not make him the next D Revis. We resigned EVERYONE else we needed .....and no BRATKOWSKI.. i think you can actually make an argument that if Dalton has a Matt Ryan rookie year we could be better then we were in 2009.

Peter King can blow me

Cincy Jungle Marvin lewis coach of the year is the joke of the year!!

Are you kidding me.?? This guy should be fired. This guy will be pushing a decade soon and hasn't won anything!!!  Turn arounds in year 8 don't mean shit if you cant win a playoff game. There isn't a coach in the league that has had has many chances as this clown. Zimmer is the only reason he wasn't 4-12 this year. He had a good thing going and never made one adjustment and let them stumble home to an awful finish. His refusal to not get rid of Brat or try to help his team adjust when injuries happen and schemes fail is a joke. If i have to listen to this guys yawning speaches and excuses anymore i am going to throw up. The same people that are praising him are the same ones that came on here during the offensive downfall mid season of this team and said everything was alright. ITS TIME FOR A CHANGE!!!

Cincy Jungle When a loss is a win

Its never good to lose but on a tragic week  the Bengals might have found out something about themselves. It was ironic that on the week of  the tragic loss of Chris Henry  they got major production out of his position. With the Benching of M Purify ( no gloating intended) they realize they cant ignore that position and Quan Cosby has a great game. This totally changed  their offense. I will bank that Leon Hall wont have  this bad of a game again and lets pray the penalties end. The Chargers are a good team and all things considered this was a good performance to build on!

Cincy Jungle Anybody on this Free Agent Wr list that could help the passing game?

Below is a list of the WR's who were free agents this year and who is still available. Is there anyone on this list that jumps out at you? I see a few guys that could stretch the field and bring some hope . I would even take a long pass interference call at this point. Cincy Jungle No Deep threat = no Chance in the playoffs... please give Simpson or Free Agent a chance!!!

Ive heard the talk on the radio, this board and TV that we are running team and you don't have to pass to win. These comments and beliefs can no longer be considered anything but delusional You HAVE to be able to go down field with a passing game in the NFL. Are we even a running team when we cant  score a  TD in six games with that position? I think its becoming clear  that the current configuration of passing threats wont work. Purify is the worst roster move this team has maybe ever made considering the opportunity we have.Caldwell and Coles are nothing more then possesion guys

If your a Simpson hater I dont understand it but then we need to go get a Free agent that gives us some kind of deep threat. Henry offered that and since the very second he broke his arm we have been one of the worst offenses in the league. We have 3 games to switch this lineup and give Palmer new options. It might not work but it would be a shame and an insult to this D not to at least try

Cincy Jungle Will Simpson be activated???

Will Jerome finally get a chance???. I have been very vocal in my astonishment that Purify a guy who not one other team othen then  the Bengals thought one thing of before or  2 years after the draft  took Henrys place. I have heard the calls of how he has special teams and blocking value which i find laughable considering I think you can connect a straight line from him being activated and his zero presence in the passing  game  with the demise of the Bengals O. I actually hope its Coats that gets a seat and Maurice can can make his precious special teams appearance. That being said i know many people think Simpson is a bust. Since we haven't pulled the Free agent pickup play I sure hope they give this guy a chance. I really hope I eat my words and Maurice does something to help this team in the receiving game. I just don't see it. Cmon Marvin, Mike Brown , Brat or whoever is pulling the strings give this guy a chance

Cincy Jungle Steelers suck but is that scary for the Bengals?

Outside of my dream of Bratkowski and Mike Brown being cast  on "I'm a celebrity get me out of here" and getting left in the jungle, nothing makes me happier then the demise of the Steelers. That being said I realized that maybe our wins over them don't mean as much. As a matter of fact we have only beat one team ( The Packers ) with a winning record. I really hope the Bengals go to the dome and prove that they are not a fluke. Either way I am really glad that we dont have to face the Steelers in the playoffs.  Now lets go Detroit!

Cincy Jungle Please help Carson.. the Purify experiment is a failure.

4 games against 3 of the worst teams in football.. this guy has zero catches that means since Henry went down we have not a a receiver other then then Caldwell, Chad, and Coles CATCH A BALL .. The offense has fluttered and as good as the running game is they have gone at least 4 games with a rushing td as well.. The  Coffman and Simpson haters need to stop, they could not do any worse then Purify... This team D and Carson desreve  more weapons.  If Simpson and Chase fail then they are in the same boat they are now but at least tis worth the shot. It is no coincidence that this offense has stalled since Henry went out and Purify went in..And is the running game that great when they cant score a rushing TD in all of these games??

Cincy Jungle Is there too much attention being paid to Special Teams??

We all know special teams are a vital part of the game. It does seem like the Bengals are making a lot of active roster spot calls each week based on special teams alone.  At what point do the Bengals put their passing game in front of their special teams needs and activate more then just Purify . There seems to be a lot of folks activated each week who only bring special teams value.

Skuta- 3 tackles all year

Purify--Zero catches 3 games

Quasby--Zero catches

Below is a list of the top 8 punt returners in the league.Cosby is the only specialist who offers no other value

Any thoughts of how to structure the active roster to activate more offensive options?

Cincy Jungle GREAT WIN BUT TIME TO GIVE SOME OTHERS A CHANCE..SIT PURIFY

I have to believe that Marvin deep down knows he has  to have more threats in the passing game if they really want to make a run at this. Purify has done zero on special teams or in the passing game. Just because he had a nice block in a Friken drill on TV doesn't mean he can block...please sit him and give Chase or Simpson a chance..If they are busts then let them at least prove it on the field because they could take a shit at midfield and be as effective as Purify has been..Their physical attributes alone gives us a different dimension

Cincy Jungle Where is Chase????

What is the reason for not activating Chase Coffman??. This is more confusing then the Kennedy conspiracy. He would at the very least bring a very tall target for Palmer in the red zone.  I don't want to hear about what he can and cant do on special teams or if he is a good blocker. The kid was a machine in the red zone in college, was our 3rd round pick and would be a matchup nightmare for opposing D coordinators.  Why not use him like Dallas Clark!!
