Recent NFL playoff trends

The playoffs are here and no NY teams are invited. If recent history keeps repeating itself, there will be no NY playoff teams next year also. Next season the Jets and Giants Metlife stadium will play host to the superbowl. Well this has been bad luck for host cities teams. Not only have the host city or state teams have not made the playoffs when the superbowl was played, their teams have had disastrous below expectations seasons. The most recent are the Cowboys in 2010-11, the Colts in 2011-12, and the Saints in 2012-13. The last teams that at least made the playoffs when their state hosted the superbowl was the Dolphins in 2008-09 when the game was played in Tampa and the Cowboys in the 2003-04 season when the superbowl was played in Texas Reliant Stadium. The last team to make the playoffs when their city hosted the superbowl was the Bucs in the 2000-01 season. No team has ever played the superbowl in their own city let alone stadium. With the state of the Jets, I'm pretty certain they're gonna do their part in keeping this streak alive.

Since the Raiders lost the superbowl to Tampa in the 2002-03 season, only three teams have come out of the AFC to play in the superbowl. Those teams are the Pats (surprise) four times, the Steelers three times, and the Colts twice. That's nine years in a row one of these three teams have come out of the AFC. If this trend holds, bet on the Pats to come out of the AFC (Yuck). In the NFC, only the Giants have made it more then once (twice) in that same span of time.

The last two superbowl champions (Giants, Packers) were wildcard teams that had to win their last regular season game to make the playoffs. If this trend holds true, the Minnesota Vikings will win the Superbowl this season.

WAKE UP REX, OUR YOUNG GUYS CAN PLAY

Its great to see the Jets put the beat down on another NFL team. You want to say its just the Colts, you can. I look at it as doing to the Colts what you are suppose to do to them. My issue is with Rex. In responding to someones' post, I suggested that Rex play the young guys on this team and to stop being so loyal to his old slower players. I was suggesting he play Maybin, Couples, Davis, and McKnight more. Actually, this whole site was asking for McKnight to play more for over a year. Maybin had only a half of sack, but he was disrupted damn near coming from every angle, and his pressure might had cause Cro's first interception. Couples had 1.1/2 sacks and he too was all over the place. Antonio Allen had a great sack, and his PI was in my opinion a blown call. If it was PI or not, that was great coverage by one of our safeties, something I can't remember ever saying in the past three seasons. McKnight looked elusive as we all know he can be. Davis had only one tackle, but the fact he was out there tells me Rex maybe feeling the pressure of his stubborn ways. All these guys shook out because all of them had more playing time. Now these guys weren't perfect, there were some young mistakes out there, but you can't say these young guns were not balling yesterday, also honorable mention to Mo Wilkerson. WAKE UP REX!!

WE CAN WIN THIS GAME!!!

Haven't posted here for a while. A lot of its due to me not being a fan of writing. Maybe I'm just a homer, but I feel good about the Jets chances Sunday. Gonna need for some things to go right, but they are not out of the realms of possibility. Here are the reason why I think the Jets can win, and reason they can or will lose after the jump.

Run Defense

Gore is a beast, however, his running style is not the jets Kryptonite. The Jets have problems with fast elusive backs ie Spiller, Bush, etc. Against Fred Jackson. Carolina backs (third preseason game), and Pittsburgh backs, the defense was stout against the run. Not saying the Jets are going to stop Gore, but I can foresee them controlling him better then they did with Bush.

4-3 Fronts

Enough with 3-4 fronts; the Jets LBs are too slow to play a 3-4 defensive front. 4-3 fronts take the emphasis off the LBs to stop the run while also taking one of the turtles off the fields. This front should also present more of a decent pass rush (I hope). I feel good of a starting front four of Couple, Wilkerson, Pouha, and Ellis, with Pouha and Ellis controlling the middle. Give the young guns a shot, I'm so done with watching Pace and Thomas generate no pressure.

Sanchez

I guess I'm one of those Sanchez apologist people on this site be complaining about. This kid always show me enough to keep in the back of my mind that he's gonna turn the corner. Not that I would bet my house on him doing it, but I think he has played better then his numbers have shown. I know people would like the Jets to establish the run more, but its hard with your starting tailback averaging 2.3 yards a carry. Really!! While I do think he played like crap against the fish, I also notice his pocket presence was almost flawless, except when he fumbled the shotgun snap. It would be nice if his receivers would get him some YAC and his coaches would let Tebow finish his drives or series when he's stop for a lost. Hard to get in a rhythm when you leave the field on 2nd and 5 and then return when its 3rd and 12. Oops there I go making excuses again.

Dustin Keller is back.

Not much to add here, but I feel Keller would make the game more easier for Sanchez. Also wouldn't be surprise he had a couple of drops too.

Put the game in Alex Smith hands

I haven't watch Smith play this season, but I saw a few games last season. He struggles against aggressive defenses. I think he lost the NFC chip because he couldn't make plays for or to his WRs. I also saw the Thursday night game against the Ravens,and while I believe he did make a late TD taken away by penalty, he did struggle that game too. So this goes back to my first reason for a Jet victory, STOP GORE!!!, force Smith to make plays.

Home field

Ok I'm not so confident in this one. It's only because we as a fan base are known for being pretty quiet during games. I say this as a person who don't go to games and never been to a Jet game. Had chances, but I just rather watch the games on TV. So I'm only going on reputation. However, if the stadium crowd can get loud, this would be a great uplift to the defense. I remember in Rex's first season he campaigned for the crowd to get loud against the Pats. This was fat Rex whom at the time was beloved by most of the Jets fan base. I don't think skinny Rex gets the same love.

Here are reasons I think the Jets might lose Sunday.

Running Game

I mention earlier that Shonn Greene running average is putrid to say the least. You see I'm not a stat guy and my eye test says he's not an every down back. unfortunately, this coaching staff let scrubs play whole season before they feel a change needs to be made. I'm not calling Greene a scrub, but he shouldn't be starting because his lateral movement is horrendous. They could force feed the run and play a field position game. However, I feel this strategy would eventually tire out the defense.

Vernon Davis

Actually looking forward to his match-up with Dirty 30, with some apprehension. As I said earlier, Smith has to prove he can make plays to his WRs. Davis is a beast and I would double him with LB and safety help all game. I have confidence that Cro and Wilson will do ok with their WRs.

Coaching

Rex has yet to prove he can make solid in game decisions. Also, he has to let the offense open up and stop playing not to lose. I believe he will have his players ready to play, but I have no confidence in his ability to make crucial decisions.

History

Maybe I should had put this under coaching, but Rex's teams have had a history of playing not to lose against physical teams. Also by my count the Jets are 0-3 when they play defensive struggles in the fat Rex era. These are games when the defense played lights out, but had no help form the offense. What's sad is all these games were at home. The three that come to mind is the game against the Falcons in 2009, the final score was 10-7 with the Falcons winning in the last minute. 10-9 to the Ravens, and 9-0 to the Packers. Much as I love defensive games, I won't feel good unless the offense is putting some points on the score board. Lets go Skinny Rex, show you can change more then your body weight.

I really feel good about this one. I agree the Niners defense is the best in the league, but I'm not ready to crown them yet. I'm also feel the Jets aren't gonna lay down and be a victim Sunday. Also think they will come out fired up because of the Revis injury. Would it be enough? we'll see. No wildcat unless they are willing to throw out of it at least once. Would had liked to added a poll, but it don't seem as simple as it use to be. Any Help?

What's up Knicks fans!! Been awhile since I actually wrote a post, and this one is not going to be long. So excuse me if some of you think this is really a fan shot. Anyway, really tired of talking about the Lin situation and figure I try ti lighten up the mood here. With or without Lin, our bench is going to be interesting with all the senior citizens (In NBA years), on the roster. So I figure I help find a name for the bench this upcoming season. This post is not about which pick panned out or not. On the contrary, this post is about the Jets ignoring weakness, while trying to strengthening strengths.

Lets look at 2009

I have no problem with the Sanchez pick, they may have picked him too high, but I believe they really gave up nothing to get him. The Shonn Greene Pick. At the the time The Jets had Thomas Jones and Leon Washington as their running backs. This is an example of strengthen your strengths. It turned out to be a great pick, due to Washington getting hurt during the season, and Greene basically carrying the team during their playoff run. Slauson was also a pick trying strengthening a strength. Since this was Rex first draft, with only three picks, can't say too much about it, but I hope you guys see where I'm going with this.

2010

In 2009 the Jets gave up eight passing TD's all season. They were the number one defense in the league and I believe number one against the pass. That off season, they traded for Antonio Cromartie and drafted Kyle Wilson. Again, this is not how these guys panned out. Its just another example of the Jets strengthening a strength. They also drafted Joe McKnight and brought in LDT at running back. This is after leading the league in rushing in 2009. Add John Conner and Vlad Ducasse, the Jets were gearing up to keep their number one rankings in defense and rushing from the previous year.

What's disturbing is they completely ignored through the draft and free agency the team need for a pass rusher since the majority of their sacks came from their secondary. They also traded away Kerry Rhodes whom wasn't a star, but I believe we all agree was a decent safety who was pretty good in coverage.

2011

IN 2010, the Jets fell from first to third in overall defense. They were still pretty good defending wide receivers and i believe they were in the top five stopping the run. However, teams started to attack the Jets safeties of Jim Leonhard, Eric Smith and Brodney Pool, whom was the starting FS at the beginning of the season.

The Jets wanted to get younger on the defensive line, so I have no problem with their first two picks. Also, the D-line had a poor showing in the AFC CHIP. Again, not judging how the rest of the picks will panned out, the Jets picked another running back and another offensive guard. They did nothing to address the safety issue, in fact made the safeties weaker by trading Dwight Lowery for a cup of coffee. Also, fooled by the fact they finished the season in the top five in sacks, they AGAIN did nothing to address the lack of pass rushers on the team.

So lets recap. The Jets in Rex three drafts have selected two quarterbacks, two wide receivers, three offensive guards, and four running backs. They also traded their best cover safety and best play making safety/corner. While doing these deeds, they have basically ignore glaring weakness like drafting a safety or outside linebacker, nor possibly bringing in or attempting to bring in an elite safety or linebacker.

With this said, can you possibly trust this front office to shore up this team's needs?

Please give me your opinion on this matter.

I also like to add, They did bring in Braylon Edwards and Santonio Holmes, which were great trades, but probably made a mistake keeping Holmes over Edwards. Also, going after Nnamdi was another example of strengthening a strength over fixing a weakness.

What I would like to see and don't want to see Sunday

I wrote a similar post before the Jags game, hoping this one gets the same results, meaning a freaking win.

What I don't want to see

I don't want to see a quick slant, bubble screen, or any three step drop pass. I can't remember the last game when one really worked. If you gonna throw one, throw it over the middle, if the defense gives it to you.

I don't want Mark throwing the ball at their best corner, you know, the fat one that usually lines up in the middle.

I don't want to see the other Ellis lined up across from Wayne Hunter. He just might get a sack or two going against Hunter. That would hurt!!

I don't wanna see Eric Smith PERIOD.

After this game, I might feel the same way about Jim Leonhard

Would like to see Sanchez act like a third year seasoned QB

Would like to see more of our elusive players like Kerley and McKnight get some burn on offense

Can the Jets please include their explosive players in their offensive game plan.

One thing I took out of yesterday debacle the explosive returns by McKnight and Kerley. Kerley had two great punt return while McKnight had a much needed kick return when Cro went out of the game.

McKnight

Green and LTD had pretty decent games running and catching the ball, especially LTD with his 74 yard catch.However, this offense needs McKnight to not only be given some runs (preferably outside), he also needs to have some plays in the passing game. I see McKnight in the backfield on first down, motioning out of the backfield being matched up with a LB too slow to hold him. This is guaranteed to happen mainly due to teams being in their base defense trying to stop the run on first down.

Kerley

The Jets have no receiver that can stretch the field. They had one last season, but I've learned to move on. Kerley could possibly be that deep threat this team needs. I believe his 40 time was around 4.6, so he's not a burner, but do you only have to be fast to take the top off a defense? Well, yeah, you do, but not if you can learn to be deceptive in running your 9 routes. To tell the truth, the best way to use him is to try end around and bubble screens. The object of these plays is to make the first tackler miss, then let your blockers help you get in space. Kerley is elusive enough to have these plays called for him.

If these two become successful in making the Jets more explosive, it will open up the offense for the Jets other players due to teams now game planing for these two. So come on Jets, add these two to the game plan while no team is thinking about them.

Things I don't want and would like to see Sunday

What I want to see

There's a post about the Jets first quarter issues, so I'm not going to get into that, however, I would love to see this team take the opening drive down the field for a TD, not a FG, a TD. Scoring a TD on your first drive is telling the other team we came to play, which is what Dallas did to the Jets last week.

Some pitch runs with Joe McKnight and to a lesser extent LDT. I don't recall the Jets trying at least once to run off tackle or outside last game. This seems predictable, really would like to see our most elusive backs get a chance to make the first person miss and then take it to the house, or at least get a twenty yard gain.

More balance, however, I have no problem attacking a team weakness. So if the Jags are weak at corner, go for it, but don't forget about the run.

More Mo Wilkerson. I thought he was non-existent last game, however, I believe the Jets are asking him to hold up his blocker to create lanes for the LBs. So I would like the Jets to get the Jags in more passing situations meaning the Jets get to let Mo loose.

More two, three tight end sets. I believe this was done because Conner was hurt, so we might not see it that much this week. I find it difficult at best to find any two LBs or even safeties to stay with Keller and Cumberland.

What I don't want to see

Any quick out passes. They may be bubble screens, don't matter what they are call, I've never seen one get more then 5 yards. In fact most of them are stopped for losses.

Eric Smith man to man on any tight end, nonetheless Mercedes Lewis. I would give this job to Kyle Wilson he did a great job when he was on Witten. Of course if the Jets are in their base defense, then Smith will attempt to hold the tight end.

A close game. Enough already, the jets need to put these inferior teams away. It would lead to more turnovers due to teams having no choice but to pass.

Can the Jets develop a high power offense like most of their competitors have?

From what I seen in the preseason this don't seem very likely to happen. The key is getting off to fast starts. Something as fans we really endure last season. The other issue is red Zone efficiency. The Jets feel Plaxco Buress is the answer to this issue. I disagree, I think its more play calling. The Jets need to learn to go after mismatches more often then trying to keep defenses off balance. The third factor is Sanchez raising his completion percentage. Starting games with quick slants or outs should help Sanchez in this department, it also takes the game out of his hand giving his receivers the chance to make plays with YAC. He got four good/great proven receivers inccluding Keller, however, they need to do their part and help Sanchez too.

Can Cromartie do his part and shut down his assigned receiver making the Jets corners the top duo in the league?

There is a lot of dislike towards Cromartie among Jet fans. I'm not one of them, I believe he played great at times for the Jets last season and at times he played stupid. I can think of only one game where he got dominated and that was the first Miami game against Brandon Marshall. My answer to that is that was against Brandon Marshall. He shut down Brandon Lloyd who was tearing the league up before he met Cromartie. I can also add Randy Moss, Chad Johnson, and a few others who had average days or worse against Cro. As Jet fans Revis has spoiled us. We feel either or the Jet corners should give up passes. As the other corner opposite Revis, Cro was challenged a lot last season, I feel he did a great job and will be better this season. The one thing I hope is Cro holding when his man gets a step on him, seems like he gets caught every time.

Can Pace be that double digit sack specialist the Jets crave?

Didn't see too much out of Pace this preseason. Pace had 8 sacks in 2009. Not bad considering he only played 12 games missing the first four due to suspension. Last season after missing the first four games again because of an injury to his foot, Pace only had 5.5 sacks. It was told he never recovered fully from the foot injury and was only 20% healthy last season. So its put-up or shut-up for Pace this season. I personally think Pace is an decent pass rusher, but he needs that animal on the other side that could crave most of the O-lines attention. Westerman is not that animal, sure hope he proves me wrong (Westerman).

Can the Jets establish a home field advantage at Jet-Life stadium?

The jets lost three games last season where they gave up 10 points or less.They lost a game against Atlanta the season before 10-7 What makes this more embarrassing is all three games plus the Atlanta game were at home. If they win those games, they would had finish 14-2, probably still had to go to NE, but Pittsburgh would had to come to new meadowlands stadium. I remember a game two years ago at the meadowlands against NE where Brady had trouble hearing, couple with a great defensive effort, the Jets won 16-9. I hear the new stadium is not as loud as the first one. Thats a shame, because if they go 8-0 at home and 4-4 on the road, that's 12-4 and a great season in my opinion. I really like opinions on this one, can the Jets establish a home field advantage?

What I learned this weekend

First post in quite some time, but just got a few thoughts I like to share.

Not so fast on the Freeman > Sanchez talk

All I hear is how Josh Freeman is a better QB then Mark Sanchez. I admit he had better year and I also admit the Bucs had probably the easiest schedule in the league last season. The played the two west division, the AFC and NFC west divisions, probably the two worst divisions in football. Now I'm not hating, I think Freeman is gonna be a good QB. However, he has regressed greatly this season, so really waiting to see who will have the better year between the two this season.

The Pats have trouble with physical teams.

If you looked at their last three playoff losses, the Pats have lost to teams that were more physical at the point of attack, IE. Giants, Ravens, Jets. Their lost to Detroit this weekend, even though only preseason showed they will still struggle against teams that are designed to hit them in the mouth. However, I will agree, I think they own the Steelers. Also, their defense looked like it couldn't stop a nosebleed against the Lions. Had to get that in.

Speaking of the Lions,

I'm dying to see how their season will turn out, because while they have probably the best D-line in football, what happens when they face an elite O-line that slows them down. Last I check their corners suck. Mathew Stafford is > then Mark Sanchez, hence him being the number one pick that season, but can he stay healthy?

The Steelers look like they are the best team in the AFC right now.

Well on offense, Big Ben and his receivers look very fluid as their #1s beat up on the #1s of two pretty good teams, Atlanta and Philly. However, the Steelers are still weak on the back end on defense. Which is why the best way to beat them is to throw the ball.

Thats not really a promising statement. However, the Jets are probably the only team on the planet that can slow down and at times stop these high flying teams of the NFL.. Strong statements, but I can back it up with recent results. Remember when Green Bay shut the Jets out. What no one is talking about is how the Jets held Arron Rodgers without a touchdown that game. That game was 3-0 entering the forth quarter. What about the game against the Saints, the year they won. The defense held them o 10 points, however, Sanchez gave the Saints 14 points and the Jets lost 24-10. Their wins against the Pats and playoff win against the Chargers proves this defense has the potential to be great. ONLY, if Rex continues to keep these high power teams guessing by switching coverage and not always staying in man to man D. I do believe teams will run on them early in the season because I feel the D-line is not as stout as last seasons, but younger and will get better. One thing that looks better is the pressure being applied to QBs this preseason. I know people want SACKS, however, I rather have turnovers and I believe pressure is better then SACKS because pressure forces rushed throws and so far this preseason we have witness how pressure is gonna improve the interception total from last season. However, a sack fumble is just as good. Lets face it the Jets don't have that 10-15 sacks a season guy, but I do believe Calvin Pace is good for 8-10. From what I witness Westerman, Mauga, and maybe Maybin have shown glimpses of explosion and you never know, maybe one of them becomes that double digit sack guy. With this said, I believe this defense will be great this season.

I'm not ready to say the same thing about the offense

The offense has potential, but I've heard they have struggled all preseason. Of course going against the Jet defense, has a lot to do with that. Still can we honestly say Sanchez has chemistry with Mason and Plax. Right now, it doesn't looked like it. Also, haven't seen the same running holes we seen when Big Woody was on the O-line. Right now I feel the Jet offense is a work in progress. I hope they prove me wrong.

GGN Mock Draft: The San Diego Chargers take Sam Acho OLB Texas

Sorry for the delay. I wanted to make sure I didn't pick someone whom was taken earlier. I asked JB to list the previous picks and of course he was receptive and accommodating. Acho is ranked as the 6th best linebacker and the 67th best player overall. So taking him at this spot is a no brainer (reminder: this is the pick the Chargers received from the Jets for Cro). As I stated when I made the Chargers first round pick, the Chargers needed to shore up their run defense and also an OLB opposite Shaun Phillips. My first round pick of Cameron Jordan should help the run defense, while Acho should help the pass rush. Also want to add, this was my first ever mock. I'm not a fan of college football, so all my picks were based on a lot of research on the Chargers needs. After hours of watching the NFL network and visiting Bolts from the Blue, I found the Chargers main needs were DE/DT, OLB and WR. And this is what my three picks were based on. Any feedback on my picks will be much appreciated.

This pick is a reach. He is projected to go in rounds 2-4, but he has character concerns. So he probably would go in the later rounds. However, since I don't give a shit about character, I believe this kid would help the Chargers make a decision on Vincent Jackson. Jackson still has contract issues, so drafting a potential replacement is probably the right thing to do at this pick. If I had my way, Id probably would had traded up to get Jon Baldwin. since that wasn't happening, it came down between Little and Leonard Hankerson of Miami. I picked Little because of his 40.5 vertical leap, 4.5 inches better then Hankerson's 36.

First off, a question? If th Knicks win their last two and the Hawks lose their last two, their records would be tied. Can the knicks take the fifth seed? OK, you're the coach of the knicks. You lost to the Bulls (knock on wood). Philly is still alive for the sixth seed. If the Knicks beat Boston, they get the sixth seed and will play Boston in the playoffs. If the Knicks lose, and Philly wins, the Knicks will play Miami. As the coach of the Knicks, how do you approach the last game of the season against Boston? Do you play your starters many minutes because you want to play Boston? Or do you play your bench, because you don't care about whom you play, you want your team healthy for the playoffs. After a lot of research, I discovered the Chargers are/were looking for OLB, and/or defensive line help, probably a DE. Well, I consider this task fairly easy with all the OLBs and DEs in this year’s draft. So I had to find which position was in greater need. A young stud OLB opposite Shaun Phillips would make this defense formable in passing situations. Yet I felt the greater need is along the defensive line. Again, not a lot of work needed with all the young DEs in this draft. However, I was quite surprise the two I really wanted and had to choose between were still on the board when it was my turn to make my pick. The two were Cameron Jordon and JJ Watt. The two are the third and fourth rank defensive ends in the draft, visa versa depending on whose draft board you are looking at. Here is their scouting reports copied from CBSsports.com

Cameron Jordan

Analysis

Pass rush: Only moderate initial quickness off the snap. Doesn't possess the top-end speed to be more than a marginal pass rusher in the NFL. Relies on his power and technique to pressure the pocket. Has a strong club move and rip and swim moves. Has the hand strength to knock away the initial punch of the pass blocker and often supplies his own punch to drive his opponent into the pocket. Good use of leverage and very good strength for the bull rush. Locates the ball and shows a late burst to close when opportunities are presented. Has long arms but is still developing recognition and timing to get his hands up. Has only five passes broken up in 50 games.

Run defense: Stout run defender. Understands gap responsibilities in the 3-4 defense. Has the long arms to keep defenders away from his chest and the bulk to anchor. Locates the ball quickly and pursues hard. Good balance and appears more agile in run defense forcing the back wide to the sideline than he is as a pass rusher. Good effort in lateral and downfield pursuit.

Explosion: Flashes an explosive initial burst but is inconsistent in this area. Doesn't have the speed or flexibility as an edge rusher to take full advantage of his spotty suddenness, but can shock his opponent when he times the snap correctly. Shows a late burst to close on the ballcarrier, resulting in big collisions. Forced four career fumbles.

Strength: Arguably his greatest asset. Possesses very good upper- and lower-body strength to remain as a five technique defensive end in the 3-4 or a base (left) defensive end for the 4-3 alignment. Comes off the snap low and hard and has the bulk to create a pile. Can drive his opponent into the pocket with his bull rush and slide off to make the tackle when the ballcarrier is near.

Tackling: Good strength for the drag-down tackle. Will lower his shoulder and bring his hips for the big collision. Strong enough that he can slip off blockers and find the ball. Doesn't have great balance or flexibility to break down in the open field to tackle elusive ballcarriers but his long arms and good hand-eye coordination help him to at least trip up the target.

Intangibles: High-effort player. Plays to the whistle and pursues hard. Good bloodlines. Father, Steve Jordan, was a six-time Pro Bowl tight end during 13 seasons with the Minnesota Vikings. Suspended for 2008 season opener after an arrest for suspicion of a DUI -- the only game he missed at Cal. Played in 50 of 51 games, including 32 starts. Characterized by teammates as a "locker-room clown" and a "just a big kid at heart." Had his maturity questioned by coaches early in his career, though he emerged as more of a leader since.

Analysis

Pass rush: Relentless rushing the passer in obvious passing situations whether lined up inside or outside. Gets extra attention from opponents. Most dangerous when anticipating the snap and swimming over guards/centers inside. Spins off blocks to get outside after initial contact or pushes through doubles inside. Gets his hands into throwing lanes, using his height and length to knock down or affect passes. Nimble feet allow him to twist inside. Bounces back after initial contact, keeps his balance to find the ballcarrier. Knocks tight end off route before making his rush. Often lined up outside the tackle, can bull-rush and get corner at times against college right tackles but needs to continue improving his flexibility to beat NFL blockers.

Run defense: Active against the run. Able to stack and shed to get to outside runs, and is strong and agile enough to move down the line to be involved in inside runs. Displays some nice change-of-direction ability for his size to mirror ballcarriers trying to elude. Gives very good effort containing misdirection and bootlegs on the edge, though quicker NFL ballcarriers will beat him to the edge. When inside, has quickness to penetrate and gets his hands up quickly to maintain distance from the blocker but fails to keep his body square to the line and gets pushed out of the play.

Explosion: Flashes quickness off the snap and willingness to pop and knock back opponents. Able to penetrate gaps with a nice first step and works through double-teams with aggressiveness when lined up inside. Has enough closing speed to explode into ballcarriers and force fumbles. Doesn't have the typical explosive first step of most rush ends because of his girth and lack of ideal height. He is considered an explosive player on every down because he has arguably the strongest punch and most effective hands in the class.

Strength: Flashes strength to shed blocks and bull through double teams, but must gain muscle in both his upper and lower body to hold his ground at the next level. Can be pushed off the line by double teams, typically when turned sideways. Works with his hands against blockers, looks to potentially be good in this area. Can play too high when lined up inside to win the leverage battle.

Tackling: High-effort tackler with long arms and growing strength. Gets low despite his height to mirror and wrap up ballcarriers. Quarterbacks do not want to feel his explosive tackling in the backfield. Doesn't leave his feet, though he stretches to make a lot of ankle tackles other linemen couldn't make.

Intangibles: Excellent character and work ethic. Won the Lott IMPACT Award for integrity, maturity, performance, academics, community and tenacity among college defenders. Began the Justin J. Watt Foundation to help schools fund athletic programs, does quite a bit of community work. Academic All-Big Ten in 2009 and 2010. Brother Derek is scheduled to play football at UW in 2011.

I highlighted what I felt was the best attribute of each player. As you can see this was not a easy decision and I came very close to choosing JJ Watt due to his height (Very good at knocking down passes) and pass rush ability. However, I choose Jordan because of his stout run stopping ability. The Chargers were the #1 rank defense for most of last season. This was misleading. The Chargers were very weak against the run. In fact the Chargers best defense was their offense. Their offense, because of its explosiveness and the ability to get big leads made other teams’ one dimensional. However, if their offense struggle early, their run defense was exposed. One game that comes to mind was their late season game against the Raiders. I watched that game and saw the Raiders stuffed the ball down their throats. I went back and checked the stats and the Raiders rushed for 251 yards that game. I believe Jordan with his run stopping ability will be a bigger addition to the Chargers.

The Jets defense needs some playmakers

Remember before the divisional playoff game, one of the Pats fan asked a pretty good question to us Jets fans. He asked with the game on the line, who do you trust more the Jets defense or offense. I don't remember the results of the poll, but I believe an overwhelmingly amount of Jets fans choose the defense. I choose the offense and explained why. The Jet offense won five games (including the wildcard game) in their final possession. The Jet defense won two games when they was the last unit on the field, the Miami game and the first Pittsburgh game. Both games the other team drove down the field and had chances to win or tie the game. Also, the Jets defense let a rookie QB (Colt McCoy) drive down the field 90 yards to send a game into overtime. So why am I bring this up? While I was keeping hope alive, i did not feel confident that the defense would get the ball back for the offense. There were other factors that contributed to the end of the Jets season. Special @#$%^ teams letting a guy with no blockers down the field return a punt to midfield, and I can't blame the defense Big Ben made to great throws to extend that last drive (although Pool almost got his hand on that first pass). Special teams and great QB play aside, this team failed again to get a key stop. In the biggest game of the year mind you.

The Jets need playmakers on this defense. They need at least one in each level of the defense. Revis is great, but he is not a playmaker. I believe Cro is a playmaker, but he needs a pass rush to make him more potent. Pool deserves another year, based on how he played at the end of the season. Bart Scott is done and need not be retained. Harris is a beast (but you have to catch that interception, sorry had to get that in). A young stud next to Harris would help improve the range of the Jets inside LBs. As with Cro, I believe Pace would be better if he had a dominant pass rusher on the other side, so keep him, but the Jets need a young stud on the other side of him. The front three needs to get younger. Ellis, I have mix feelings on him. At this time, I don't know if the Jets keep him or let him go. Jenkins, I want to keep him. He is a playmaker the defensive line was missing all season. Pouha should be retained but he is 31. Devito is a no brainer, keep him. I know I'm missing a lot of other players but this post is about adding playmakers to this defense.

Again, this post is about how to improve this defense. So opinions would be greatly appreciated. Also which level of the defense needs improving.

This is the greatest weekend of my life

Whats up GGN. You may have notice or probably not that I have not been blogging this weekend. First great game from the Jets. They did it. They shut them _astards up. Rex Ryan out coached BB. However, this post is not about the Jets alone. On Friday, my wife whom is pregnant with my first child had labor pains a month earlier then my son was due. She was having complications with the pregnancy all week. Throwing up, being lite headed. We wrote it off as late pregnancy morning sickness. Well I drove her to the hospital where they confirmed she was about to have the baby. To make a long story short, they had discover that she had a somewhat common pregnancy disease that i could not fathom to pronounce it. Because we did not realize she was sick, her liver and her kidneys had stop functioning. Due to this happening her body forced her to have the baby a month early. The baby due to the added stress poop inside his little protective bag. The doctors had to make sure the baby did not cry because breathing his poop was toxic. Again, to shorten this story, my son was immediately was put on a respirator and my wife was also fighting to get her organs to work again. Again, I need to speed this up so I can celebrate this victory. As of this writing, son is off the respirator and wife organs are starting to function better. They both are still in the hospital getting better by the day.Again, I consider this weekend the best of my life. My son was born, my wife whom I love dearly is going to live, and the Jets told the rest of the world _uck y'all and the Patriots. Anyway guys, I love going back and forth with all of you.

Jets final record revisited

Wrote a post a few weeks back after the Packer game trying to predict the Jets final record. I picked the Jets to finished 12-4 and I'm sticking with it, even though the two losses i picked were to the Dolphins and the Steelers. Hate the fact I was right about the fish game, but knew that team would play over its head against the Jets. It's what they do. Now, I also thought the Jets would beat the Pats, so shows what I know. Not trying to be overconfident against the Bears, but I feel the Jets need that game more then the Bears, even though they fighting for that second seed. The Bills will not be a cake walk either; but I feel the Jets will win their last two.

Why the Jets will win the Super bowl

Recent history has shown us that Super bowl winners have had there ass handed to them like the Jets did Monday night. The Giants lost their last November game to the Vikings 41-17, also losing a December game to the Redskins 22-10. The 2008 Pittsburgh Steelers lost their next to last game of the season to the Titans 31-14 also getting manhandle earlier that season by the Eagles who only beat them 15-6 but held them to 224 total yards and sacked Big Ben 9 times that game. The 2006 Colts lost to the Jaguars 44-17 letting the Jags gash them for 375, yes I said 375 yards rushing. All these teams went on to win the Super Bowl. The 2008 Arizona Cardinals whom lost the Super Bowl that season lost games 47-8 to the Pats, 48-12 to the Eagles, and 56-33 to our Jets that season.

Why the Jets will not win the Super Bowl

The one thing that all these teams have in common was good coaches whom made the require adjustments to turned their teams seasons around. Do the Jets have the coaching that can help perform similar turnarounds. That remains to be seen, however, I've notice a disturbing trend. The Jets last three opponents have not loaded the box daring Sanchez to throw the ball. Teams are now daring the Jets to run the ball. You don't believe me, watch the tape of those games. How has the Jets responded, they still are throwing the football more then they are running it. Still, I can't put this all on the coaches. The Jets had a good game plan to come out in the no huddle. It was smart because it kept the Pats base defense on the field, while giving Sanchez a chance to get rolling. Well Sanchez came out very ineffective, throwing very inaccurate passes that prevented his receivers from getting yards after the catch. Also, Eric Smith could had turned this game around. On the PI, he seen the ball coming, but instead of going after the ball, he went after the receiver instead. Brady under threw it, it was a sure interception. Also on Deion Branch touchdown, he was suppose to jump that slant route but somehow got caught up. He was suppose to be there for that slant pass. The point is even with the best game plan, the Jet players need to perform. Thats all I got, I could give 100 reason either way, but I really feel this team still has a chance to be special.

Been a lot of talk about LDT slowing down and the Jets need Kerry Rhodes; this is just a comparison between the players the Jets let go and the players that replaced them. Just a note, LDT has slowed down, but it seems like the Jets have changed the way they are running him. I could be wrong, but I feel like the Jets were running him outside earlier in the season. I do know, that in the last few games SG has gotten all the pitch runs, while LDT has run more between the tackles. I believe LDT is the running back the Jets need more in space. Also, he was averaging 5.5 yards a carry earlier in the season. There was no way he was going to keep that pace. No poll, just would like to hear some opinions on this matter.

Thursday’s game not included due to Thomas Jones not playing his 11th game yet. As you can see the two players numbers are similar when it comes to rushing the ball. You really can’t measure this stat due to the players having played against different opponents. However, LDT receiving stats show why it was a great decision to pickup LDT and let go Thomas Jones. Combined LDT already has over 1000 all purpose yards, while TJ receiving yards + rushing does not even add up to LDT rushing yards alone.

Ok, this is no contest. Apparently, Leon is not in Seattle running plans. He does have a great 5.9 rushing average, but only 18 rushes in ten games is about 1.2 rushing attempts per game. I did think Shonn Greene would have a more productive year, but now hearing reports that he came to camp out of shape. Also, see John B. article on Brad Smith replacing Leon Washington.

Again, statistics can be misleading. Rhodes has an unordinary amount a tackles for a safety. To have this many tackles means either as safety you play a lot of run support and is getting to the ball carrier; or it means the defense you on is terrible and most of the safety tackles is deep in the back end. Either way it seems like Kerry is having a decent season in Arizona. Brodney Pool, while disappointing he has not been more of a factor in the Jets secondary, seems to come up with a game saving/changing play every now and then. Back to mister Rhodes, I probably was one of the first people on this site who insisted the Jets miss him. However, miss him or not, my beef with the Jets for trading him was they could have gotten more for him. He was a cancer whom seem like he was jealous of the players Rex brought in from Baltimore. I admit the Jets probably miss him in the secondary, but as a fan, I don’t miss him

First, you called an ok game, but Mark Sanchez played a great game. I'm writing you because this offense needs to improve. Much as I hate to admit this, I can't trust this defense (five interceptions all season). I can't trust the kicker and the jets return team is average at best. That means, I need this offense to take off. You have the players, two good running backs, three really good receivers, one might be great (Holmes), and a really good tight end, also not to mention a really good offensive line. So why does this team struggle to score? Because when the Jets get in the red zone, your play calling gets crazy. You know what, I take what i wrote about the defense back. The defense was lights out in the second half; but the offense let the browns stick around by scoring 3 points after two long drives. So what happened. The jets offense and Nick Folk, gave the Browns offense the life they needed. So Schotty, I need you to get this offense in gear, so i can stop having heart attacks. Please Jets can we win an easy one for once.

Even though football is a team sport, some individual match-ups are why the game is so great. These are five I would never miss watching.

.5 Ed Reed vs Peyton Manning

Wait a minute I seen this show before, however, seeing it again and again is worth the price of admission. Ed Reed pretty much is the only player on the planet that makes Peyton Manning looks ordinary. How is it that a person with about 40 yards of length and 53 yards of width to cover can out think/react probably the best thinker in the game today. Too bad the two teams don't play this year. Would be a great playoff rematch.

.4 Clay Matthews vs Micheal Vick

Again another match-up already played. Judging from the oxygen Clay was sucking up from chasing Vick, Vick may have won the battle (By TKO) but lost the War. In fairness to Clay, the packers didn't game plan for a full dose of Vick. So this is a match-up I would to see from start to finish. Hopefully we get a rematch in the playoffs.

.3 Julius Peppers vs Jake Long and D'Brickashaw Ferguson

This is the best OLB/DE tackle match-up I can think of. Long gone are the days when you had a LT, Reggie White, or Bruce Smith. Guys who played 90% on one side of the field and dominated everybody in their way. Peppers is a beast, but he probably won't stay on the left side of the quarter back. He probably will do some stunts up the middle and also line up on the other side of the d-line. Still, I believe these are the two best tackles in the league, with Long getting a slight nod over D-Brick. The best part about these match-ups is we get to see Peppers play them both later this season.

.2 Darrelle Revis vs Brandon Marshall

Cro had a pretty good game vs Marshall, but Marshall still lit the Jets for ten catches and over 160 yards. The next time around Mr. Marshall gets to visit Revis island. Revis showed last week he's 100% and back to putting opposing teams #1 receivers in his back pocket. The only problem is the Dolphins quarter back situation makes this match-up a mismatch for Revis. Lets hope Marshall and Chad P. develops some chemistry by time they see the Jets again.

.1 Darrelle Revis vs DeSean Jackson

If I'm correct, we get to see this match-up next season unless they meet in Dallas in February. Jackson is probably the most explosive wide receiver in the league. I don't have the numbers, but i believe over the last two seasons he has 5 to 10 catches over 50 yards per reception. Now add in how accurate Vick is throwing the long ball, this would be a tough match-up for the island. Hopefully we get to see this sooner then later.

Honorable mention: David Harris vs Peyton Hillis, Cro vs who ever Revis don't hold when the Jets play Cincinnati, Steelers d-line vs the Jets o-line.

Bad game, great win by the jets. Just want to address some issues that will and should help improve this team.

Kyle Wilson

Have to admit, i'm pretty apprehensive about him playing nickel back. Can he do better then Drew Coleman, probably so; but he scares me just as much. However, he has to start returning punts on a regular basis's. Yeah he fumbled, but he also was very elusive in his two punt returns that sandwich a whole lot of ineffective Jim Leonhard returns. Say what you want about the offense, but it is hard to score in this league and even harder when you have to go 80-90 yards every time you get the ball. The jets have been losing the field position battle the last three games.

Mark Sanchez

Getting tired of defending this guy, he is a good QB. Does he need to be more accurate? of course, will he be the next Dan Marino? who is. What frustrates me is people are not watching how poise he has been in the pocket. On that pass to Santonio Holmes he made that happen by stepping up in the pocket to avoid the rush. He still needs to stop looking down his receivers, but he is noway as bad as hes been last season. He also does panic when it comes to screen passes, a lot of times throwing them too fast and short of his receivers. However, he's a second year quarterback. I'm comparing his career right now to Big Ben in Pittsburgh. Big Ben Went to the AFC championship his first year and won the super bowl his second year. However, it was more the team then Big Ben. He played good enough to not lose his first two seasons (Remember the Jet playoff lost to them). He actually played terrible in Pittsburgh super bowl win. Now Big Ben is a super bowl caliber QB, because he played in a sytem that brought him along slowly, then let him develop.

Coaching Staff

If you really follow the jets, you know Rex is not good when it comes to coaching challenges. Really not him, his coaches up stairs are not getting him the right information to him fast enough. I really believe the lions got away with a fumble, but to be fair, they got to the line real fast and called the next play. Remember last season in the first Miami game, they clearly fumble, but Rex never got a chance to challenge. His staff needs to get better at this.

The coaching staff has to stop with this child like rule of if you fumble you don't play. I believe it hurt Shonn Greene confidence early in the year and it hurting Kyle Wilson confidence now. Fumbles are very costly, but don't act like this team is going the rest of the season without a fumble. Also, the stupid fines giving to Mark Sanchez for body language. They are depriving their QB from becoming a leader. He should be able to let his receivers know if they are running poor routes, not playing or practicing hard enough, and/or not fighting to aviod interceptions (thought Santonio could made an effort to come back and break up that interception, I could be wrong though).

Defense

Second straight game without a turnover (almost had two), third straight game without an interception. Is the jets defense too predictable? I really can't answer this. I think Crackback made the reference that how is it the line gets so much penetration on run plays but not on pass plays. They have dial down the blitz and have played more coverage on long third downs. The front four is getting some pressure but not enough. What's happening is the QB's are getting off pretty good runs. Is it the scheme? they have some good players rushing the QB's. Think how great this defense would be if they start generating sacks and turnovers. Until this start happening, I will refer to the Jets defense as good not great.

Steve Tasker

Really hated the way he was calling the game. He seem anti jet or pro Lion on some of his remarks. One of his first uninformed comments were "Jet fans think they going to have an easy win here, but this Lion team plays hard". Ok, you need to do your research before you comment on a fan base. The majority of post on this site and other jet sites were the Jets need to respect this team. He also said " the Jets are going zone now because they now see how explosive the lions are". Again, anybody who follow the Jets know most of the times the defense is inside the twenty, they play zone. Should this really bother me? I just want to listen to someone who is impartial to wherever the team is from.

Same Ole Jets

Jesus, I seen someone put this up before the game was far from over. While I know this is not the last time I will see this unfaithful slogan, its sad that I seen the same slogan at the Lion site. That organization has had a far worse past then the jets, and I'm not just talking about recent past. Yet, fans of this team has the same ideology of that franchise. I blame the media for indoctrinating this belief in the jets fans. I see a lot of the sport casters on SNY who should be less judgmental with this ideology. Win or lose, a real fan going to stay with their team through thick and thin. I'm not one who try to tell people what to posts, but can we do without this lame slogan.

I started to write a post about how the Steelers and Giants in their Super-Bowl years had bad losses and played their best ball in December and January. Unfortunately, I can be very lazy at times and didn't feel like doing the research. Plus the way some of you been acting, I'll probably would be wasting my time anyway. So this post is about predicting what the Jets end of the season record will be. First off the AFC is stacked and most of the good teams play each other this year, so I believe there will not be any 14-2 or 13-3 teams this season. Secondly, the jets played a very tough first half of the season and came out of it 5-2. Its tough that both loses are at home and the Jets mostly beat themselves more then their opponents beat them. However, 5-2 is pretty good.

The Jets have nine games left, 5 on the road and 4 at home. Their next two ball games are on the road against the Lions and the Browns. Not counting my chickens, but I believed the Jets win these two games. After that two more at home against the Texans and the Bengals. Again two more games on paper the Jets win and should win.

December is where the schedule gets tough and the Jets have two tough aways games (Pats, Steelers) , three weeks apart sandwiching a home game against the Dolphins.Ok, my predictions get a little dicey at this point in this blog. I predict the Jets beat the Pats in their first December game, lose to the Dolphins and then lose to the Steelers on the road. I think the Pats are going to have a hard time scoring on the Jets and their defense, which has gotten much better is gonna have a difficult time stopping the Jets. The Dolphins is a different story. First off, I believe the Dolphins are much better then I really though they were. They probably had the toughest schedule in the league and to be 4-3 is incredible. But thats not the reason I'm picking the team I hate the most to beat my beloved Jets. If my predictions are right to this point, then the Jets will be flying high. They also might be looking past the Dolphins because they will have a big game in Pittsburgh the next week. Also with this game against the Dolphins, you just throw out the records. The're always close and any team can beat the other.

The next two would be 1 on the road against the Bears and 1 at home against the Bills. I predict two wins, no reasons needed. Two easy wins unless the Bills come into the last game 0-15, then that game will tough, but still a Jet win.

So there you have it. I'm predicting the Jets will go 12-4, AFC champs, and a first or second seed in the playoffs. I know some of you don't see this and believe the season is lost by now. Thats why I'm including a poll with all possible records that don't include ties.

Caught a little of the top 100 players last night and saw something I surely don't agree with. Tom Brady according to the people who voted for this group, is considering better then Dan Marino. I find this ludicrous, as a football fan since early 80's, there was nobody who put fear in my heart or did not want to see on that field then Dan Marino. I'm not going to kill you with stats, but I want to look at Dan Marino record year of 48 touchdowns, Payton Manning year of 49 touchdowns, and Brady year when he had 50 touchdowns. Tom Brady had a future hall of famer in Randy Moss; whom caught 22 of those touchdowns. Payton Manning also had a future HOF in Marvin Harrison in addition to Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark. Dan Marino threw 48 touchdowns with his receivers being Mark Duper and Mark Clayton. Of course Brady's three super bowls definitely factors in people considering better then Marino, but seriously Dan Marino was probably the first and only quarterback in the history of the NFL you could not blitz because his release was the quickest I ever saw.

Ok, I left this post very vague. If you want to come with your research and stats, you welcome to do it. Lets let go of our Jet biases and please share your opinion on this one or any of the top 100 hundred so far.

After watching the Jets victory twice over the fish Sunday, I seen quite a few things that stood out; but none of them stood out more then the two plays Vernon Gholston looked liked he be nothing more then a special team player. The first play was when Jake Long threw him around like he was a high school rusher. Ok, Long also did the same thing to JT; and I'm quite sure Long probably does that probably at least twice a game against opposing rushers. The second play was when Cromartie was attempting (attempting is an understatement, but the Jets didn't get him to tackle), a tackle on Ronnie Brown. This play stands out because the next or closest Jet defensive player was Gholston, and in my opinion Gholston should have got there to make that tackle while Cromartie held Brown up. Now it's easy to say while I'm sitting on my couch what play a player should have or not made; however, anybody who played football knows while a player is being held up the next or closet players job is to make the tackle or even strip the ball. Brown got I believe eight yards after being contacted at or behind the line of scrimmage. I believe Gholston was not running hard enough to get to that tackle; and this lack of ferocity is why he will be nothing more then a special team player.

Is it the players, or is it the system?

The Jets go into Miami not only missing three defensive starters, they go into that game missing their three best defensive players Darrelle Revis, Kris Jenkins and Calvin Pace . Lucky for the Jets, they have experience playing without all three players at one time or another and did play the second half of last weeks game without all three players. While this is disappointing because I feel with these players we got the best defense in the league, I still feel the Jets can slow the fish down due to them being somewhat predictable, although they do have an all pro wide receiver. Which leads to the question, do the players make Rex Ryan defense works, or is it the system or scheme?

LaDainian Tomlinson SHOULD START THIS WEEKEND

I know it was one game and I'm not one to overreact about a player having one good game. However, lets look at what we got. Shawn Green is a good runner and if he gets to day light, he can take it to the house if he runs through the last line of defense. LaDainian Tomlinson is a great runner and if he gets to day light, he has the ability to make the last line of the defense miss.

Shawn Green is much younger but has a history of fumbling and getting injury. LaDainian Tomlinson has a history of injuries in his past too, but most has come late in the season, which leads me to my reasons to start him over green.

OK, it would be stupid to run LaDainian Tomlinson more then 15 times a game, this would wear him down in this 16 game schedule. Yet, with LaDainian Tomlinson ability to find the hole faster, plus his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield, gives the Jets offense a much desired punch. And we should all agree, the Jets need to put some points on the score board. Green should carry the ball more in the second half of games when defenses are more tired and are more likely to miss tackles on his punishing running style. So while LaDainian Tomlinson would and should start, most of his runs should come in the first half. With his ability to break the long run, the Jets should be able to put up more points in the first half, with Shawn green helping them play keep away with him doing most but not all his running in the second half.

One other thing. Ray Lewis had two plays where he blew up the Jets run game. One when he stop Shawn Green and one when he blew up the fullback. There's no doubt, Ray Lewis is a future hall of famer; however, when a line backer gets that much penetration on run plays, it's because he most likely know what the play is before its called. Which leads me to think/feel that the Jets running game is too predictable. I believe both runs were their bread and butter play where the running back runs in the four hole or between the tackle and the guard. The same play they beat the chargers with.

The Defense played good, but,

I'm sure a lot of you guys share in the feel of ultimate frustration of last night game. While the offense was inept, the defense allowed an alarming nine first downs on third down, with most of them being third and long. There was nothing worse then having the Ravens at the goal line, then letting them complete third and long when field position was desperately needed. Say what you want, the corners had no chance because the Jets famous blitz was not getting to Flacco. The sad thing about the continuing blitzing is I felt the D-line was getting good penetration. The Ravens first pass of the game became a sack because of the coverage of the Jets. Why not show some trust in our front three or four? It's funny because I seen this game played out before. Last season against Indy, the colts stayed away from Revis and picked apart the other corners.This happened due to Indy picking up the blitz, leaving the corners out on a island. My question is when do we dial back on the blitz. Why not show blitz and drop back to zone, or do some zone blitzing. With New England coming to town, it makes me wonder, has teams caught up with the Jets famous blitz?

Hazing for Jet Haters: The Goal Post or the Tackling Sled.

Maybe because of Rex Ryan or just a dislike for New York, New Jersey area, there is an increasingly amount of hatred towards the NY Jets. If you feel the Jets deserve it or not is not what this blog is about. I’m creating an imaginary blog about what should we do to the Jets biggest haters based on the Jets hazing ritual seen on Hard Knocks, with an added twist. Listed is a few of the Jets biggest haters. At the end of each hater’s description is what I would like to do to them, either tie them to the goal post or if the hatred is that bad, then tying them to the tacking sled, fully padded up to prepare for the practice tackles we would use them for. The main purpose for this blog is to express your feelings for the people out there who can’t stop back lashing the Jets. Remember, I’m in no way promoting or advocating violence towards any individual mention. Just express your feelings; and feel free to add anyone I did not mention.

Ok, this is one guy I can say I hate. He has not even tried to hide his hatred of the Jet organization. I’ve counted at least twenty times he reminded the NFL network viewers that the dolphins have swept the Jets, and he was doing this last season. To tell the truth, I don’t know if I will just tie him up. I would more likely try to pry Bill Parcels nut sack out of his mouth. Much as I would like to give him the tacking sled, I’ll give him the goal post.

Seriously, who is this guy? He actually has a segment on the ESPN first take where he’s the self proclaim champion of the sports opinion. He’s another guy who has not hidden his hate for the Jets. Last season he picked the Jets to lose against the Bengals and Chargers: only to make excuses when the Jets beat both teams. He finally got his wish when the Jets lost to the Colts, claiming Payton Manning tore the Jets secondary up because of the Jets talking. Look like Payton being Payton to me. He now call the Jets the not Yets. After tying him up, he needs to be feed a steady diet of jaw jackers. (Yeah, I made up the word jackers), Goal Post.

Ok, I wonder if my triple A would cover dragging this fat piece of shit to the goal post. Mr. Francesa needs no introduction. This guy is an arrogant piece of shit. He’s another so called sports expert who doesn’t hide his bias for the other NY football team. I guess the best punishment for him is to have a conversation with him with his mouth taped up, or worse removing his tongue. This bum gets the tacking sled.

Darrell Revis

So what is everybody favorite corner doing on this list. Mr. Revis has embarrasses himself and the organization that I love. It does not matter what the Jets gave him; the Jets will forever look like an organization that don’t pay their top players. The fact that he is back softens my feeling towards him.. He gets a pass, he’s the best Jet player, enough said.

Dolphin fans, Tom Brady, Howard Cross, and fill in the blank ___________

I have friends that are Dolphin, Patriots, Giants, and Bills fans. Out of all these rivals, nobody is more irritating then my one friend that is a dolphin fan. After joining this site, I realize it’s not him; it’s the fact that he is a dolphin fan. Out of these teams fan base, we are only subjected to the phin fan bravado. To tell the truth it can be fun going back and forth with one of your rival, and not all phin fans are bad; however, we have come across plenty a-holes who have reminded me of my sorry ass friend. The dolphin fans get the goal post. I would probably repeatedly hit them with a fly swatter to remind them how much of a pest they are.

Tom Brady

Before I start on Mr. Brady, I have to remind the readers, I feel he’s the best quarterback in the game today. With that said, don’t think I did not see through his attention grabbing, Jet hating rant. I detected a hint of jealousy in his announced hatred of the Jets. He could not stand all the attention the Jets were getting and had to defuse the Jets thunder. Of course I have no evidence of this, heck, he’s Tom Brady, don’t have too much to say about him but only he’s a cheating Patriot. Because of the later sentence Mr. Brady gets the tacking sled, with Vernon Gholston doing the honors. Release the Kraken!!!
