Terrell Suggs out for the year
Jason LaCanfora reports that Terrell Suggs has a ton ACL after working out in Arizona and might miss the entire season.
Drafting for value
If we were to assume the Pats actually make their picks in the first-round, what kind of players might be there for us to take that represents great value?
Draft buzz about McClellin and Jones
It appears the draft beatnik world is beginning to catch up with something that's been discussed over here a lot lately - the fact that Shea McClellin and Chandler Jones is rising up draft boards when studying tape.
In some ways I'm not too exited since it means both players might fall out of reach for us.
The case for or against Stephen Hill
I have started to see a lot of mock drafts have Stephen Hill to us with either the 27th or 31 st pick. I tend to shy away from falling in love with prospects based solely on athletic ability but I can't deny this kid is intriguing.
Mark Anderson to Bills
According tosportstarnyc
Ex-Patriots DE Mark Anderson has agreed to a 4-year deal with the Bills, according @sportstarsnyc. He'll tag team with Super Mario
First-round targets defensive line
I thought I'd make a series of first-round possibilities for the Patriots in the first round of the draft. I'll start of with defense and the big men up front.
I will assume we'll play a base 3-4 defense for the sake and purposes of this article and thus I will only discuss linemen able to play in a 3-man front. I'll get back to 4-3 DE/3-4 OLB players when discussing linebackers.

Blockbuster trade - RGIII to Washington
St. Louis and Washington have reportedly completed a trade sending the 1.02 pick to the Redskins and in return the 1.06 pick and the 2012 2nd rounder along with Washingtons first-round picks in 2013 and 2014 respectively.
No question the Washington Redskins are eyeing Robert Griffin (or for that matter Andrew Luck should the Colts somehow decide they want Griffin with the 1.01).
Jets gives Sanchez a three-year extension
The offseason starts off in a great way without the Patriots even being involved. News out of New York that the Jets re-signed Mark Sanchez to a rather pricy deal have reached us. While I'm not as down on Sanchez future as a quarterback he still isn't nearly an elite quarterback.

Kamerion Wimbley
According to Jason LaCanfora Raiders would release Kamerion Wimbley if a proposed restructure of his deal can't de done
http://blogs.nfl.com/2012/03/01/raiders-to-cut-lb-wimbley-if-new-deal-isnt-reached/?module=HP11_headline_stack
Combine notes and observations
Nothing too exiting has happened yet with the QBs and RBs going through the measurement process. I don't see the Patriots looking to bring in QBs or RBs but eho knows.
The highlight perhaps was Robert Griffin showing solid size. Maybe the measuring of o-linemen was more important...

Interesting free agents
Let's make this a series of interesting free agents for the Patriots to look at.
Without knowing the definite specifics I would say the team will have cap space to make a few splashes if they need to.
Patriots 2012 schedule opposition set
http://www.bostonherald.com/blogs/sports/rap_sheet/index.php/2012/01/02/the-patriots-2012-schedule-is-set-with-more-tebowmania-on-tap/
I know we're about to go play in the playoffs. However, it's never to soon to look ahead of time is it? Opposition for 2012 has been chosen. At a first glance a relatively easy schedule, granted things can change a lot until next year.
Signings you would like to see the Pats make
I thought we'd make one thread for the signings we'd like the Patriots to make when free agents are concerned.
Often, recent history have shown, it's not the biggest signings that will end up making the most noise. Therefore I'm particularly interested in under the radar signings you'd like to see. I'll start off with a few obvious ones:
Ochocinco to Pats?
We've probably discussed this a zillion times before but still. Peter King usually knows what he's talking about even if this is just pure speculation.
So, what's the odds?
I think it's probably close to 40% chance that he actually ends up in a Pats uni.
If so, do you believe he'll give us a couple of nice season or is he fading fast?
2012 OLB prospects?
Since the owners and players (no matter who's to blame for this whole mess) can't seem to agree on a deal anytime soon and thus there is not much to talk about I took a look at potential 2012 3-4 OLB prospects in the next draft.
It is my belief that BB and crew very much liked next years group a lot more than all the Brooks Reeds, Jabal Sheards, Sam Achos and Allen Baileys in the world. By purely looking at measurables they might be right...
Hill and Cameron O - Mocking the draft
You guys have made a very good job so far after two rounds of the draft (that lasts for 5 rounds right?).
Here's my take on your picks so far (if anyone's interested)...
Diamonds in the rough
By now, we all know the names of players like Mark Ingram, Mikel LeShoure, Cameron Jordan, J.J. Watt, Anthony Castonzo, Gabe Carimi, Ryan Kerrigan, Aldon Smith, Akeem Ayers and even players like Muhammad Wilkerson. All those (and others) have been linked going to the Patriots with any of the first three picks.

Rookies the Patriots should follow closely in Mobile
I know we've already had a couple of "offseason focus" posts but with the number of draft picks we have can there be too much speculation?
I was watching the Senior Bowl practices and the reviews. Some players stood out to me during practice Monday and Tuesday as players we should waych closely.
Leonard Hankerson, WR, Miami (Fla.) - Already a player mentioned as a possibility to the Pats did nothing to hurt his stock. He caught every ball and looked very impressive. He could be a great choice with our 2.28 pick? If he lasts that long that is.
Christian Ballard, DE/DT, Iowa - This is a kid we better watch closely. He displayed great athletic skills and did beat blockers on several occasions. He looked explosive and displayed a very good motor. With that 6´4´´ (and 1/8) and 288 lbs frame he's someone we should look for after the studs at the position are selected (from round 3 and beyond).
Brooks Reed, OLB, Arizona - He sure looks like a great fit at pass-rusher even though he's a little short (6´2´´1/2) by Patriots standards. If we can ignore size demands he could be a steal somewhere from the third and beyond?
Please submit your thoughts on other guys that could represent value for us. Can't wait until Draft day.
Interesting players that could fit us?
Prilmarily, it would be nice for us to add some pass-rushing presence and offensive line quality depth or upgrades.
However, any player you would think would be a good addition should be mentioned here. Jarvis Green is an obvious (an already mentioned option) as well as Jay Richardson (by CCNation) as candidates for depth at DE.
