Been a Bronco fan since I was little, still remember getting a H-Bowl shirt from the BSU vs. UTEP H-bowl. I'd say the two biggest Bronco watching moments since then, at least moments that stick out to me as "whoa we're gonna be good moments" happed seeing BSU beat TCU in the Fort Worth Bowl on TV and then attending Fiesta Bowl 1 years later sitting in the corner where all the game ending magic happened. Still working on getting alumni status but I'm a Bronco for life!

Bronco Gear in Downtown Guadalajara (Mexico)

Add GDL to the string of BSU gear in unlikely places! Click the link to check it out, you don't need a facebook account to see it. My little bro (in the picture) is serving an LDS mission down there and was stoked to see this in the window of a downtown shop. Looks like Corey Bell has a fan down there. ¡Vamos Broncos!

This is AWESOME.

Let's Talk BYU

Ok, who watched the Utah BYU game last night? I did and it was fun to watch until it ended in similar fashion to the game that never happened and I had to remember that game and empathize. My...

Another $1MIL Heading to New FB Complex

Don't know much about Bryant Lemon (good time to tap into the mind of tmunson or seniorchief) but him and his family are sending one million dollars to the new fb complex, specifically to posh up the recruiting lounge. If Jamaal Williams thought we liked to show off our swag he should come back for another recruiting trip in a year or two.

Have a sec? Go hijack BYU's BE Poll

BYU fans like to call this Jimmering a poll. In light of a Philly.com report that either BYU or AFA will join the BE in 2015, BYU's Vanquish the Foe SBNation site has asked the question: Which is best for BYU? 1) Independence 2) Big East 3) Depends on BE's new TV Deal I think we ought to help persuade their fan base that #2 is their best option. To be real, I'd rather see AFA in the BE because of Navy and the fact we already have BYU on the sched for the next 12 years.

New Hire by Coach Pete - Marshall Malchow

Boise State football head coach Chris Petersen announced the hiring of Marshall Malchow as assistant director of player personnel, Friday. Malchow will assist the Broncos’ director of player personnel in all day-to-day recruiting functions, including on-campus recruiting and organizing official and unofficial visits for recruits and their families. "We are thrilled about the addition of Marshall to our staff," Petersen said. "He’s a really sharp young man that brings a lot of energy to the position." Malchow worked at Alabama throughout his undergraduate career as a recruiting specialist in the team’s player personnel department. While with the Crimson Tide Malchow assisted in the recruiting process, providing tours for official and unofficial visits. I'm thinking the big time nature of those visits at Bama will lend well to making sure ours are on par, especially as we get the much needed update to our facilities.

This is pretty awesome, we have freshman that could be playing in the Olympics this summer! When was the last time that happened at BSU? He's made the top 25 so lets hope for the best and he makes it on the squad!

Looks like Big West to have a non-FB sports slot available, maybe

Current Big West member Pacific is slated to announce that they'll be moving to WCC in 2013. This is slightly good news for BSU if the WAC crumbles as we expect. With all the Big West changes (adding SDSU, Hawaii, and losing Pacific) I think this means they'll be at 10. WCC adding Pacific now brings them to 10. BW could easily stick with 10 but if a couple WAC schools needed (SJSU, Seattle, BSU for example) do you think they'd take them? I never heard to much about Big West options when we were shopping our non-Olympic sports around but as much as I would rather be in the BW it's hard to think it that possible... We don't have a baseball team and they already expanded their geographical footprint and travel costs by adding Hawaii. Thoughts?

Mountain West 2012 schedule released

Boise State's full schedule now goes like this: @ Michigan State, BYE, vs. Miami (Ohio), vs. BYU, @ New Mexico, @ Southern Miss, vs. Fresno State, vs. UNLV, @ Wyoming, vs. San Diego State, @ Hawaii, vs. Colorado State, @ Nevada, BYE. I like the UNM match-up in between BYU and SoMiss. Ending the season at Nevada? Not so much

Air Force BBall Coach Reportedly Fired

Good news for Boise State looking to get their first road and Mountain West win! I'd content that they had a good shot at winning this weekend without this but I'd have to imagine the odds will improve with this news.

Aussie vs. Aussie this weekend as BSU takes on New Mexico. UNM is knocking on the door of the Top 25 (receiving votes in the Coaches Poll). We'll see if the Broncos can play up to them like they did against SDSU and UNLV. They've got their own aussies and the video talks about the Australian Institute of Sport where Iggy and Drmic both attended. Interesting program. The other UNM Australian, Hugh Greenwood, played U19 ball with Drmic and Iggy last year. Hopefully our Broncos can finally get a win or at least hold on! GO BRONCOS Ps. Friendless will be happy, there will be free pizza for students so we should have a good crowd :)

BSU hoops, why WRs dropped KM's passes, must be a Scott Slant

The key for Boise State now: maintain the "let’s see what we can do against these guys" mantra versus the "we’re toast" attitude. "The reason why those Big Ten receivers weren't ready for his throws is because Kellen is playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers!"

BYU and Utah are missing out on the party in the Mountain West

A write up from the SLC Trib about how awesome the MWC is and how pathetic Utah's attempts in the Pac-12 are and BYU is fairing only slightly better, dropping both contests to Saint Mary's so far in the WCC.

Another tough loss last night. Colorado State used 6 three pointers in the first ten minutes or so to put Boise down and never gave us a chance to get back in it. Kenny Buckner did not make the trip, he is currently under academic review. If we lose him for the season we may need to get used to more losses like last night's. Anthony Drmic had another cold night from the field but pulled down 12 boards and fought till the end. Hopefully he's able to snap out of that. 20+ points vs. TCU would be nice. This is a young team that is bound to develop and hopefully has some good wins still in them.

Montana OC Jonathan Smith headed to Boise State

They just lost their DC too. Guys we know how you feel! Despite the media reporting Jonathan will be OC we know that's not true. He'll more likely be the new QB coach, he was QB coach at Idaho before going to UM... UPDATE: The linked story has the facts straight and have confirmed with a source from inside the University of Montana Athletic Department

MWC Basketball Best in the West

This is a great preview to our conference, Eamonn Brennan dials up a great overview of the top contenders and also a few shoutouts to Boise State: Even Boise State -- for which hoops is usually an afterthought -- is 10-5 and appears able to upset the balance of power on any given night. Put it all together, and pound for pound, the Mountain West appears to be one of the six best hoops conferences in the country this season. He also names Drmic the best Freshman in the conference, falling in line with ESPN naming him 14th best in the country yesterday. Ultimately his best part relates to something many of us felt a while back when BSU was picked dead last in the MWC, a 6th place finish. BSU seems to be getting picked to finish 6th by quite a few people recently and it's perfectly reasonable. A couple wins against TCU, 2 more against Wyoming, and winning 2 of our 4 matchups against AFA/CSU would pretty much get us there. The game this weekend is crucial to getting there. Exciting times for BSU Basketball!
