Breaking: Jays cut Big Hurt

Frank Thomas was released by the Blue Jays this morning.

Bring him back!

Really makes you wonder why they cut Reed Johnson, given that Matt Stairs figures to be the new DH. Or maybe this is just a precursor to seeing Barry Bonds north of the border. The Jays will now presumably go:

LF - Stewart

CF - Wells

RF - Rios

DH - Stairs

Unfortunately, there's probably no place for Frank in Oakland any more, since MSweeney and Emil are clogging up the roster.

Morning. Midterm at noon today, but I'll still take the time to write the DLD.

On the topic of higher education, according to AOL Finance, California has 4 of the top 20 'best value' colleges, Berkeley (11), UCLA (13), Cal Poly (15), and UCSD (17).

Guy who founded Wikipedia..... possible scumbag. Best part of that story;

Kevin Goldstein of BPro claims that the A's have the second best minor league system in baseball.

Last Year's Ranking: 23 Why They're Up: Their rebuilding process got off to excellent start, as the Dan Haren and Nick Swisher deals brought in a bevy of excellent prospects to restock the system. Did anybody else catch the part where Clemens claimed he didn't know what a vegan was?

Feel free to weigh in with your favorite malapropisms, ad hominems, and/or redundancies from today's hearing (which, at the very least, was damn entertaining.)

P.S. - Mr. Clemens, you do not interrupt a Congressman when he is giving his closing statements. Who the fuck raised you?
