Jason Brown signs with Rams

Jason Brown, a young, pro bowl caliber lineman who has been starting for 2-3 years, signed a 5 year deal for $37.5M, with $20M guaranteed.  Meanwhile, we just paid more than half that much...

Steelers fan here.  Where do you guys see Jason Brown on your list of FA priorities, with Suggs, Scott, and Lewis needing new deals?  I haven't heard much of any talk about him, although that could...

Steelers Offense vs Cards Defense

In some ways, this game reminds me of the San Diego game.  The best defense going up against one of the top offenses.  Our offense vs. a middle of the pack defense that has played well over the...

Ask a Steelers Fan

Alright, the bad blood is flowing already, but we can still be civil, right?  This post is a place for rational (although undoubtedly biased) cross-team talk.  Both teams seem to be relatively...

Steelers-Ravens Rivalry

Thoughts on the game

I had a couple thoughts that I didn't see mentioned anywhere else. - I have been one of the biggest and most longstanding critics of Bruce Arians in these parts, but he called an above average...

Concern about the OL

Our offensive line has stabalized a little in the last few weeks, not surprisingly due to better play-calling, quicker passes, and lesser opponents.  I could talk about how the Giants will change...

Accuscore gives Steelers 69% chance of winning

I don't know how much stock to put into this, but ESPN's computer thing gives us a good chance of winning.

In the wake of losing Romo for a few weeks and possibly seeing the last of Pacman, Jerry Jones traded 1st, 3rd, and 6th round picks for Roy Williams (the WR).  This is an shaky move on several...

Pittsburgh Steelers Positional Review: The Defensive Backs

Blitz started reviewing every Steelers player by position, so I'll help him out a bit and do the DB's.  I don't have YPA numbers for these guys, so if someone wanted to add those for the starters,...

Eason Out?

Buried in this article about Ben (who you know is going to play), Tomlin sounds doubtful that Eason will play on Sunday.  He's the only important guy other than Ben that missed practice on...

Good enough vs. Great

One thing that has bothered me a lot as a Steelers fan over the years is the team's contentment with superficial success.  The team is unwilling to take risks and identify and preemptively fix...

Brown chooses not to undergo Kemo

1

Post Game Heros has a great analysis of Sunday's game, as usual. Scroll down to the section on Kemo. There is a priceless video of Brodney Pool literally running away from Kemo on a 4th and 1 play instead of at least trying to string out the play. Absolutely ridiculous and hilarious.

I stumbled across this highlight video of Dennis Dixon on YouTube, and I was pretty impressed. It's a nice long video, so it's not just his top 5 plays or anything. If you watch Dixon, he's not primarily making plays with his feet and arm; he's executing the offense, and for the most part he's working within the game plan to find open receivers and make sound decisions. Most of the plays are remarkably un-impressive (other than in their result), much like watching Tom Brady drive up and down the field, taking what the defense gives and throwing only to open receivers. His other years in school were characterized by him making the plays himself, which led to a lot of inconsistency, but this video shows that he has matured a lot as a QB. At the very least, watching it made me think he could be a viable backup.
