SI: Alex Smith's Last 12 Months
"At one point in late January, Smith left his cellphone at the team's facility. Harbaugh wanted to tell him but didn't know how to reach the quarterback. So he called Smith's parents to see if they had a cell number for Smith's wife. The conversation did not go as Harbaugh envisioned. "I told his dad, 'I really want Alex here. This could be his fresh start,' " Harbaugh says. "That was met with crickets. You could hear the chirping on the other end of the phone."
Harbaugh laughed before adding: "I felt for them, I really did. I totally understood that this would maybe be the last place they would want their son. It's spectacular how things have transpired."
---Very good read.

49ers fan favorite QB Nate Davis will be signing with Seahawks, pending a physical.
EDIT: WARNING OBNOXIOUS FAN! WARNING!
I want Lin to succeed at the NBA level, I really do. However, I want him to succeed because the Warriors need the guard depth. I hope the Warriors will be (pardon the pun) smart with Lin and ease him into the NBA, because clearly he still needs to get adjusted to NBA game speed. Is it nice that's he's a local asian kid in the NBA? Yes it most certainly is, but I hope for him to be a quality player in the NBA. I am perfectly willing to accept that it may take some time for him to develop that.
I guess only Jeremy Lin can make garbage time in the first preseason game feel like playoffs.
I am not quite as excited about Lin as others are, but I sure hope he can fill our need at backup PG.

Brandan Wright likely to miss final summer-league games
The curse continues...
Udoh update: The Warriors won't announce the extent of No. 6 overall pick Ekpe Udoh's left wrist injury until they get a second opinion Monday. Early indications, however, are that Udoh will need surgery and will miss 4-6 months.
Off-topic, but this gave me a bit of a chuckle and it kind of reminded me of Curry's triple double except Curry obviously didn't go through this much effort and ridiculousness for the board, and the last shot magically landed in Curry's hands. Unfortunately for Blatche, our man Cartier was the one in the right spot at the right time hahaha.
Hope Blatche realizes that our Dubs have been giving away career nights all season long, let's hope he takes full advantage. :D
Nellie on Curry and 5th Starting Position- "as far as I'm concerned, he won the job tonight. "
Looks like we'll be seeing some Monta - Curry soon.
Anthony Randolph Post Game Interview
