A Few of My Favorite Things, 2009 Bama Football Style

In honor of the Season, ...

Sung to the tune of "A Few of My Favorite Things"

Championship victory, Tim Tebow crying.

Florida’s hopes of a spotless year dying.

Every game Rammer Jammer we sing,

These are a few of my favorite things.

Lane Kiffin whines, “The rules no comprendo.”

Auburn goes down, as the Tide hits crescendo.

The Bryant Museum will now have some more bling

that Tide fans can add to our favorite things.

When the Tide plays … in 2010, I can pimp my ride ...

with banners and flags from our ’09 campaign,

and then I will yell, “ROLL TIDE!”

Ole Miss, you suck, you were not a contender.

Arkansas’s better, but still a pretender.

The Tide is the one that will wear this year’s ring.

Oh what a wonderful, wonderful thing!

Poor LSU fans, the truth you’re now facing,

your moron “Mad Hatter” no longer embracing.

Saban is ours, and he’s SEC King.

And beating you is one of his favorite things!

When the Tide plays … in 2010, I can pimp my ride ...

with banners and flags from our ’09 campaign,

and then I will yell, “ROLL TIDE!”

Texas is next, and they need a defeating.

Past losses hurt, so we owe them a beating.

Oh please, Bama, crush them and deaden the sting,

And that will be one of my favorite things!

When the Tide plays … in 2010, I can pimp my ride ...

with banners and flags from our ’09 campaign,

and then I will yell, “ROLL TIDE!”

Thank God for Internets and DVRs

Guys,

I have been thinking about the game tomorrow A LOT, of course, and the only thing I am damn sure of is that -- regardless of how the game is going -- I will not be able to stand listening to Verne Lundquist talk about "Orlando McCain" and Greg "MacELroy." Nor do I have the stomach to digest all the  Tebow man-love (wow, that sounded gayer than I intended) that will be spewing forth from the mouth of Gary Danielson.

So, I will be watching this game the same way I watched the Iron Bowl, listening to Eli and Phil on the Tide Sports Radio Network over the Internet while using the pause feature on my DVR to sync up the action on TV with the game audio.  This is actually a great way to enjoy the game, because you can pause both simultaneously while you go to the bathroom, get another beer, ... and hopefully not call a repairman to fix the window you just shattered with the remote control ... or find a shovel to bury the cat you just kicked into the wall.

Anyway, I really have no freakin' idea how this game is going to go. But, I kind of think that it has a "team of destiny" feel like many of our championship games from the past. I think Florida will be distracted by all of the "end of the Tebow era" crap, while our guys will be focused on dominating the guy in front of them and "making his ass quit." My prediction is Bama 24-17, but it wouldn't surprise me if we win big.  Roll TIDE!

Lies Miles lying about not knowing who called for the spike -- along with video of HIM on the sidelines CALLING FOR THE SPIKE. What a jackass, throwing his QB under the bus for his dumbassness.

As a Sirius subscriber, I am lucky enough to listen to Rivals Radio every morning. Because it is on satellite radio, the program provides an interesting national perspective with calls from fans from around the country. Anyway, Bama has been getting plenty of airtime the last couple of years, but this is the first time I can recall a Bama player actually being interviewed for the show. Nothing really groundbreaking here; same stuff you've already heard if you watched Mark's interviews from TideTV or TideSports.com. But, still kinda cool.

Click the link below and scroll down the page to the November 12 program. You can directly link to the "podcast" of Mark's interview.

The mindset of Bama's O-Line

“One of the main things we focus on is we’re just trying to get the running back through one gap,” Johnson said. “They can have all the people they want to up there, but they can’t fit nine people into one gap. If we can get the running back that one seam then we can be successful.”

Associated Press

I like this thinking from the leader of our OL.  If Ingram, Upchurch, et al, can break through that one gap -- with the LSU defense stacked up against the line -- they will be breaking off some long runs. If we're successful at doing that, we may not NEED McElroy to throw deep.

The one thing that concerns me is that this is obviously something that's been coached into Mike's head. ... which makes me think that all of Saban's talk about needing to throw it deep and open up the offense may just be a smokescreen. Of course, if it works, who cares?

Damnit! Wrong video!

You gotta love Julio Jones. We all know he is a good blocker, but did you know he enjoys it? "Blocking is as fun to me as catching the ball."

I hate to say it ...

But I told you so.  I said that we would win comfortably, and we did.  I said that Snead would throw two or three interceptions, and he threw four. Now, we didn't play a very good game, I must say. Well, our defense played an ungodly good game, but our offense was horrendous -- especially in the red zone. Either the play-calling was horrendous, or the execution was horrendous.  Four times with the ball inside the 10 yard line and four field goals. ... pathetic.  No excuse for that. I don't understand it. Why didn't we try pounding it between the tackles when we were on their 5? Instead, we were running the "Throw it to Julio in Double Coverage" offense all night in the red zone.  Unbelievable.

Anyway, even with a very lackluster performance by our offense, we still won comfortably in a game that was expected by almost everyone (except me) to be a close game.

Roll Tide, and bring on the gamecocks!

Dr. BamaFrazier.

High school boots Vols recruiters

Is anybody surprised by this? (http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/102580-high-school-boots-vols-recruiters?eref=fromSI)

You had to know that eventually Lame Kitten was going to run his mouth enough to piss off high school coaches and administrators. But, holy shyte! How brilliant is it to piss off an entire region of people (note that his comments that day were directed at the entire region of South Florida, not just this one high school) of folks? That's OK, though. It's not like South Florida produces a lot of highly talented football recruits, right? ... RIGHT?

Keep up the verbal diarrhea, Kitten.  You are the best recruiter that Bama and every other school in the SEC has. ... Actually, that's not true. At least our recruiters are out actually working to make our school look like some place that parents would WANT to send their kids to learn maturity and discipline and respect.  I wouldn't send my kid to UCheaT even if I was a Tennessee hillbilly. Of course, if he was a convicted sex offender, that might the only place he could go ... jus saying.
