Is anybody surprised by this? (http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/102580-high-school-boots-vols-recruiters?eref=fromSI)

You had to know that eventually Lame Kitten was going to run his mouth enough to piss off high school coaches and administrators. But, holy shyte! How brilliant is it to piss off an entire region of people (note that his comments that day were directed at the entire region of South Florida, not just this one high school) of folks? That's OK, though. It's not like South Florida produces a lot of highly talented football recruits, right? ... RIGHT?

Keep up the verbal diarrhea, Kitten. You are the best recruiter that Bama and every other school in the SEC has. ... Actually, that's not true. At least our recruiters are out actually working to make our school look like some place that parents would WANT to send their kids to learn maturity and discipline and respect. I wouldn't send my kid to UCheaT even if I was a Tennessee hillbilly. Of course, if he was a convicted sex offender, that might the only place he could go ... jus saying.

New Bama Fan!

Friends,

Just wanted to let you all share in my joy in adding another Bama fan to the world. My little girl joined us on February 2 weighing in at 8.5 pounds and 20.5 inches. We just brought her home over the weekend, and I've been running myself ragged, as you might imagine. Anyway, you'll all be glad to know that she has been receiving the proper instruction on what school she should plan to attend from the very beginning -- as you can see from my new profile picture. It is a shot of her in the hospital bassinet being wheeled around the maternity ward wearing the Crimson Tide baby hat (sorry, I don't know the technical term). There was an Auburn fan with a new baby on the same floor, and I was sure to take her out while he was in the fall:

ME: "Good morning"

HIM: "Good morning, and congratulations"

ME: "36 to nothing."

HIM: "Sorry, ... what?"

ME: "I said, 'congratulations.'"

HIM: "Oh"

Roll TIDE!

Feelin' Good

Guys,

Despite all the trashing of the Gators in the "Dilemma" fanpost, I am feeling really good after Florida's win in the Fedex BCS National Championship Game brought to you by "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter." (OK, I'm trying to meet the 75-word limit).

I was feeling down about ending the season with 2 losses. But, after the game last night I got to thinking. To whom did we lose? 1) The National Champions, and 2) the only undefeated D1A team in the nation. Also, barring a couple of errors by players and coaches, we could easily have won both games. Gotta tell ya, I feel pretty good about that.

To top it off, guess who scored more points on Florida than the vaunted Oklahoma offense? Bama did!!

Roll Tide!!

Maybe I missed the memo, but are we shutting down the RollBamaRoll Radio Hour or just skipping a week? I know last week life got in the way, and we've had some serious technical difficulties the last couple of times before that. But, it's kind of become a Wednesday night tradition. My wife even asked me this evening, "Are going to do your Bama radio thingy tonight?"

I guess what I'm saying is that I'm a creature of habit.

"Ten minutes to Wapner. We're definitely locked in this box with no TV."

And, I like to dress for the occasion.

"Of course I don't have my underwear. I'm definitely not wearing my underwear."

Embarrassing Admission

OK. I'll get us started. Several Christmases ago, my brother and my sister-in-law gave me thong underwear as a gag gift. We all laughed. It was very funny. None of us could imagine my fat, hairy ass poking out the sides of a thong. Just thinking about it now makes me giggle ... hee, hee, hee ... ha, ha ... ho, ho ... ahem. I held on to them, though, thinking I could regift next year.

Well, I ran out of clean underwear a couple of months later. It was either do laundry or wear the thong. Of course, I could have gone commando, but Stanley having no buffer between him and a metal zipper just sends shivers up my spine. Or, I could have worn dirty underwear. But, I had already worn several of them twice. So, standing there in my birthday suit, staring down at my empty underwear drawer, I had to make a decision. ... I chose to do laundry. What do you think , I'm gay?! (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Not so fast, my friend! Out of laundry detergent. Shit! Long story short, they're really a lot more comfortable than you would think. And, it's a lot easier to scratch your ass. You just have to be careful when you jam your keys in your front pocket.

Roll TIDE!

Good, 8-minute wrap-up of Bama/KY and the SEC in general. Tim Brando finally says what I've been waiting for someone besides me to say, "Kentucky is not as bad as everybody thinks they are." Still, with a Coffee rolling up 218 yards, I can't understand how anyone can conceivably say that Kentucky "stuffed the run." WHAT??!!

Guys,

Just received my copy of Yea Alabama 2008 yesterday in the mail (that was fast). Thank God for haiku contests; that's how I won my wife (just kidding, ... maybe). Anyway, if you haven't purchased your copy, drop what you're doing (unless you're holding your baby, of course), don't walk; run to the nearbest bookstore and GET IT!

This is great stuff, guys. I write for a living, and I can tell you that the writing in here is top-notch. And the graphic design and production quality is excellent. I particularly like how you included articles on past great games for the Tide. What respectful magazine on Alabama football wouldn't?

Also, I would note that pretty much all of Todd's "Five Steps to Rebuilding the Crimson Tide Offense" are coming to fruition this season, so far. Consistency on the offensive line is one that we struggled with in the Tulane game (due to injury), which I think proved Todd's point. Anyway, all of the others seem to be happening, so ... Yea!

Anyway, just wanted to say "Thanks" for the copy and to encourage all Bama fans to get a copy of this magazine. You won't regret it!
