Atma was originally a Knicks Fan

FACT: A year ago a few of us went on the web and found his old personal webpage with him in a .... KNICKS JERSEY. He listed his fav teams as the Knicks then Golden State. Hmmmmmmm... I guess when Baron came on the team and he realized he could make money, (which he did, with his SB nation check he bought season tix), he became a full Warrior fan and erased that website when we found it. BUT WE STILL HAVE THE PICTURES!!!!!! If you want them emailed to you, post your email address... I'm not gonna post it on here just cuz I still have respect for the guy to not post his pics, but since he outed me, and since he runs the site, you all at least deserved to know more about the man who runs this site and gets paid from all your visits and cilcks.

Atma, aka control freak, is really named Shailendra R** (he tries to go by Shai and made a generic dark complexion graphic character to come off as being a brotha, well, he's not and he should be ashamed of being ashamed because the Bay Area Indian community is the best one in the nation and half my friends are from it and the ones that come on gsom don't like this guy one bit!).

I was on the site last year, and he blocked me after I tried to protest some racist people on this site posting fanatical comments and attacking people who had differing views. On GSOM the word racist is illegal, but discriminating is not. Atma was afraid of them and took their side. I emailed the owner of SB nation and within a few days they made major changes such as removing the diary/fanpost moderator named "Oz". I also pointed out how he consistently made up rumors with no sources just to generate traffic on the site, and then I pointed out how he demonized Jack when he first came and later acted like he didn't do it and this irked him so much that he finally blocked me. Well, he's about to do it again. And I don't care I'm done with this site it sucks and it's not representative of the East Bay at all. He looked up my email and posted on another thread to tell other people who I was... so I'm returning the favor baby!

VIVA LA REVOLUCION! OBAMA '08! <----(another word he was against last year when it wasn't "hip"...loser).

Posted at 8:11pm! Countdown to removal!

I wrote a post about Jack breaking his summer long silence which happened to be linked on a fanshot as well... but my post was deleted. I think it was out of line, I mean that's a huge deal I wrote an analysis and key points on what he thought about our offseason and his vision of our future with him as a leader. Don't you guys think this deleting is getting out of hand?

The fanshots are for media and stuff ya it was SORT OF a duplicate, but I mean this was a huge deal I think they're getting a little trigger happy and becoming power hungry control freaks that think this is all about them and not about the fans. No one was viewing the fanshot, the fanpost with an analysis would have stirred up more comments and discussion and ultimately gained a little more traffic for their own site so wouldn't it be a little arrogant to refuse it?

Just my opinion. Let's see if they keep this up or delete it to control any backlash, typical of the gsom boys no other site would restrict discussion on... well... a discussion forum.

I think the layout of the new sb nation has really gotten on their nerves and they're not happy with the fact that this is essentially NOT their site. CONTROL CONTROL GIVE ME CONTROL OR GIVE ME DEATH!

Stephen Jackson Launches "Jack 1 Foundation"

Our team Captain has been true to his stature as the Community Outreach champion of the dubs by launching the Jack 1 Foundation:

http://www.kfdm.com/sports/foundation_27293___article.html/jackson_stephen.html

Golden State Warriors guard/forward Stephen Jackson is launching his charitable foundation, the Jack 1 Foundation, with a series of community outreach events in his hometown of Port Arthur, TX, from August 20-22, it was announced today. The mission of the Jack 1 Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is to provide community initiatives focusing on youth development and empowerment regardless of economic status.

"I am extremely pleased to launch the Jack 1 Foundation, and I'm very happy that the kick-off events are happening in my beloved hometown of Port Arthur," said Jackson. "Giving back to the community is something that I have believed in strongly throughout my entire NBA career. I feel blessed to be in a position where I can start my own charitable foundation that allows me to work more closely with deserving community groups both here in Port Arthur and my adopted home in the Bay Area."

To me this solidifies a few things:

He likes the nickname Jack, not that nasty "S-Jax" they gave him on the nasty Spurs that some of the bandwaggoners on here still refer to him as.

He's our guy and he's not going anywhere. Contrary to some web conspirators, Jack was not sitting crawled up in a corner of his garage trying to figure out a way out of GS all summer long. He's giving back while others are relaxing on vacation.

We easily forget how much he matured last season and how he's so underpaid compared to the other starters... that doesn't matter right now, he's all about redemption at this point in his life and trade thoughts or contract crunching are the last things on his mind.

He probably just as excited as we fans are (if not more) about this upcoming season.

HA HAAAAA GOTTA LUV COACH! He wasn't holding on to this grudge for no reason, he was right! Stupid a$$ Cuban has to pay him mwahahahaha

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3514135

It's like a pimple on his behind for [Cuban], but [$6-plus million is] a big number for me ... It's good to know I'm going to get it.

--Don Nelson

Ashworth's ruling came just over a month after Nelson and Cuban -- who were barely on speaking terms in Nelson's final months with the franchise -- were reunited for three days' worth of testimony at an arbitration hearing in Dallas in June. Nelson said he and Cuban had limited interaction at the hearing beyond a few awkward meetings "in the men's room."

ROFLMAO

Hey, we lost my hero, but thank GOD we still got coach for one more year!

What you think guys? Read through the article, let's just bash Cuban on this thread for the hell of it.

There's a serious chance this guy might make it into the starting rotation alongside Monta Ellis ... the 23-year old backcourt! That'd be something. At first I was skeptical, but after reading on Williams and watching his interview:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eU7TfPcQy80

I am warmin up to the guy! I guess I like the fact that he looked up to BD growing up in LA, has gotten permission from him to wear the #5 and is still going to talk to him to get tips on playing the point for the Dubs. Also helps that he's friends with Jack and Al too. I think the college theft incident and limited playing time in NJ kinda held this guy back, I've watched his youtube's and he's a PURE POINTGUARD no doubt. This could be his last chance to make a first impression!

Oakland, CA, where you can revive your career baby!

Check out this article that triggered my thoughts on Williams:

In a sad, yet humorous development, Ron Artest has been emailing ESPN all weekend stating that he (still) truly regrets not opting out of his contract and that he is now acting as his own agent in an attempt to be traded from the Kings.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3485534

Should I laugh or feel sorry for the guy? Ehh whatever, let's swap Al for him and win the West baby!!!

OPINION: BD Did The Right Thing / FACTual OPINION: Monta WANTS OUT

The Video

It took me a few days to come to terms with all of this, but this video right here allowed me to understand why Baron did the right thing and I'm still proud to call him my favorite player in the NBA:

BD Returns Home

My favorite part! - "You cheatin' on me?!?!"

This reminded me of why I love this guy so much. Let's be real, GSOM wasn't GSOM until BD stepped into Oakland, and it won't be the same now that he's gone. No hatin' intended, but it's just not a coincidence.

My Revelation

There's always talk about who is a real fan and who isn't. When I lived in So Cal, I sported an Antawn jersey while the Lakers were in the midst of their three-peat on my college campus. I got heckled, people laughed, people argued, but I just had to stay true to my team. I consider that the sign of a real fan. When the sixers took a 1-0 lead in the series against LA, me and my friend broke into the largest lecture hall at my campus in the middle of the night (seats almost 500), climbed up a ladder and chalked in "1-0 Go Philly!" at the top of the huge chalkboard. The next day, when we went to class there, it was the talk of the day and people kept talking about it and Laker fans were pissed. LOL. I consider that a sign of a real fan. Everyone has their own interpretation, and no one is right or wrong.

SO WHAT'S MY POINT?! Where am I going with this? My point is, if you're a true W's fan, then you gotta be a BD fan for the rest of your life. What this man did for us is beyond the value of a contract. This man brought bball back to the Bay Area. This guy was real, honest, an all around great guy and just the funnest PG in the league to watch. I'm not gonna get into the whole "he really wanted to stay in the BAY argument", because I'm sure you've all seen the contract Karma video by the studs at FTB which proves he did want to stay.

Half of me is absolutely heartbroken that he left and cannot stand seeing him in another jersey now. But half of me is still in love with the guy who brought the magic back to the YAY. This guy was a Clippers fan when he was a kid.. sure he idolized Magic b/c he's also a PG, but he loved his team despite the bad record, despite the fact that they were and always will be in the shadows of the Lakers, and therefore we should all cheer for BD and treat the Clipps as our 2nd team. (That's just my personal opinion.)

The Clipps were my 2nd team while I was in LA, because they were always ignored and treated like crap and I sorta felt sorry for them because it reminded me of the W's back home. The Clippers are another Warriors...they're Baron's Warriors from when he was a kid. THINK ABOUT IT. If you were a famous star player on the Clipps, and at age 29, had a chance to come play for the W's at the Oracle wouldn't you wanna finish that way?!

Conspiracy Theory?

Honestly, looking back at it, I gotta say I think maybe Nellie and Mullie knew it was the right thing to do, to not even offer BD anything when they knew the Clipps would want this guy as their new franchise player where he'd be happy and where we could save money for the future.

Brace yourself!

OH AND ONE MORE THING! While a few people here are ready to call Monta the new franchise player, let's be real, this is not his team! In fact, MONTA DOESN'T EVEN WANAN BE HERE!!!! According to the Miami Herald, Monta said he would love to be traded to the Heat if the W's traded him. I'm not saying that Monta is shady or that I don't love the guy, I'm just saying that you gotta understand that this is a business guys.

Couple more vids:

BD LAC Press Conf

Fav part: "HELLO". You'll notice he makes a funny reference to Jim Hill, a famous LA sportscaster who BD knows, which leads into the next vid:

BD Jim Hill Interview

You'll see here that BD comes clean about the Brand situation. I knew he wouldn't be that shady to deal under the table with Brand, and the fact that he supports Brand leaving which basically means he won't make the playoffs in LA is another testament to the class of Baron Davis.

Thank you again B, for all that you did for us.

Sixers interested in Andris - Maggette finalizing with Spurs

[While chugging directly out of my pepto bismol bottle]

Here's another one to watch out for in this summer of HELL. The Sixers, after considering Josh Smith are also looking at Andris. Yes he's restricted but still, just the possibility that someone could snatch him and that our team could be collapsing before our eyes is hard to stomach.

http://www.philly.com/dailynews/sports/20080705_New_free-agent_line_forms_for_Sixers_as_Smith_moves_on.html

The others on the Sixers' radar, include Los Angeles Clippers' unrestricted free agent Corey Maggette and two restricted free agents, Golden State's Andris Biedrins and New Jersey's Nenad Krstic.

And by the way, sources are also saying that Maggette is finishing a deal up with the Spurs:

Maggette, who opted out of a $7 million contract, has been popping up all over the league as a possible acquisition, although his agent, Rob Pelinka, has not commented publicly; the San Antonio Express-News indicated the Spurs were close to a deal.

I wouldn't be so sure though because I found that article (http://www.mysanantonio.com/sports/basketball/nba/spurs/stories/MYSA070408_SpursMaggette.en.1f4e7bd9.html) which was assuming that the Magic were (who were heavily courting Maggette) had considered Maggette second to Chris Duhon... who just signed with the Knicks! (http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/B/BKN_KNICKS_DUHON?SITE=TXSAE&SECTION=SPORTS&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&C=2008-07-04-18-08-01)

[sighs]

Shoot me or get this summer over with.

Sources: Monta Ellis interested in the Knicks

It's happening guys. It's happening. If there's one team out there that will throw ridiculous amounts of money to someone, it's the New York Knicks! They're starting to gain interest in Monta, and Monta supposedly has interest in them and playing for D'Antoni. I could see him going there, it would be better for his future considering the coach and the future of that team is looking brighter now with better management.

http://www.newsday.com/sports/basketball/ny-spknix045751758jul04,0,1521258.story

The source said the potential of an Ellis-Jamal Crawford backcourt "would be dynamic" in the Mike D'Antoni system. Both players averaged 20 points per game this past season. A person close to Ellis said the lightning-quick guard "would be very interested in the Knicks" and especially playing for D'Antoni.

Oh and if you think we're free from the Knicks wrath:

A person with knowledge of the situation said nine teams have made inquiries about Ellis. The Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers have shown the most interest.

Summer of HELL for the W's.

ttp://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/07/04/SPV611JS76.DTL

Golden State has reached out to forward Corey Maggette, another Clippers free agent, according to two league sources. The Warriors are one of the few teams who can offer Maggette more than the mid-level exception, which is expected to be around $5.6 million when the new cap figures are released.

Here we go, looks like the Warriors are talking to Maggette now. He's fine, let's go for him, but nothing ridiculous that could hurt us financially cuz this guy is barely a starter. Not saying he's not good, he's real cool and he didn't like Dunleavy Sr. anyways so I'm sure he'd be great under Nellie playing for their rival... just let's not get too emotional in trying to get him you know?

FYI Summer League Roster/Lineup:

Summer league set: Assistant coach Keith Smart's roster for the Las Vegas summer league beginning July 11 will be highlighted by draft picks Anthony Randolph and Richard Hendrix, as well as incumbents Brandan Wright, Marco Belinelli and C.J. Watson. Free-agent invitees include former Kings guard Louis Amundson and undrafted Duke guard DeMarcus Nelson.

UPDATE:

Before you get excited, Maggette is almost set on going to Boston! LOL. This summer is sucking.
