I am a Steelers, Mountainteers, and Pirates fan. Pirates are by far the greatest team that I follow. '97 team got me hooked for life. I wore #5 when I played thanks to Tony Womack

Keith Law Top 100
Keith Law posted his Top 100 Prospect List a day after his organizational rankings (Pirates were 18th). Last year he ranked Alvarez 38th. I'm pretty surprised he didn't move up farther after the season he put up. The Bucs had 3 in the top 100 (Alvarez-35, Tabata-57, Sanchez-82). Lincoln was listed in the ten outside the top 100. I was hoping to see some love for Starling Marte after all the great reports I've read on him being a 5 tool talent.
It's pretty rough to read some of these rankings. I understand that they can easily switch depending on the author's criteria for the rankings. The past two years it is great to see how much talent we've added to the system. It's quite sad to look back in past years how the Bucs have wasted so many early picks in the draft. It would be nice to get a few more star potential prospects and get some young talent in our Dominican facility.
One of my customers at work yesterday...
Just a little story for all of you. I work at Best Buy and I had a customer walk in yesterday. As I am waiting on him we immediately start talking Pirates. We began talking about Lastings first game. He started mentioning how much fun the boys looked like they were having and how great of a game it was. We discussed the Burnett & Morgan/Milledge & Hanrahan trade. He stated that while Nyjer is a good ballplayer he is 29 and Lastings is young and is going to be a great talent for the Bucs.
Oh, I should mention that my customer was Bob Nutting.
I know that Yinzers love to hate on him for being cheap, but he struck me as a man that is truly a fan. He was excitedly talking about the first game against the Nationals and also about this years draft. I mentioned that I liked how NH was going for ZVR, Cain, etc. and he said he liked how the draft shaped up in drafting some higher upside arms in later rounds. He said he feels that NH has began putting the pieces in place to build a continuous winner. Now we do not know if he will fulfill his promise to spend money when the pieces are in place, but it was just kinda cool to have a conversation with the man at the top of my all time favorite team.
I really wanted to question him on the Sano proceedings, but I was supposed to be working and didn't want to be 100% unprofessional towards him, just 50%.
