I started following the royals during George Brett's 3000 hit season in 1992. I watched them take a run at the playoffs in 1994 only to have the season wiped out, along with my loyalty. I came back to the game in 2002 when another strike was looming, which fortunately never happened. That was just in time for that wonderful winning 2003 season. Little did I know that would be their last .500 season to date.
