Does Ben Watson's signing with the Browns become a possible trade for the Bears?
After hearing that Ben Watson is through in New England, and that he has signed with the Browns, I got to wondering....Would this be an opportune time to try and shop Greg Olsen to New England for a nice draft pick? New England only has two TEs listed on their roster currently. Neither of them have taken an NFL snap. I would say New England has a need, and some say Greg Olsen is expendable in Mike Martz's offense. It could work. I'm interested in hearing what WCG thinks about this. Is it worth it? Could it happen? Would it help us?
Just wanted to say to everyone at WCG
Although this has been a tough, tough season to watch, and God only knows what the future holds, I just wanted to take a moment to tell everyone here at Windy City Gridiron to have a safe and wonderful holiday season. Who knows what Santa will place under the tree this year, a new GM, a new coach, a new offensive coordinator, the Vikings and Packers getting beaten unmercifully in the Playoffs? Regardless of whether you fall on the naughty side or the nice side, here's to hoping Santa brings Bears Nation what we really want for Christmas....A WINNER! Again, everyone be safe, have fun and GO BEARS!

Jay Cutler
I have read through many of the posts on this fine site. And like many of you, I have voiced my displeasure, or downright hatred of the current state of affairs. The O-line has played horribly. There is no running game. Forte is hopping and dancing, but getting nowhere fast. The defense has not performed well, although it has been affected by injuries. The coaching staff sucks. I could go on and on, but my main concern is Jay Cutler. I do believe he is a talented athlete. I'm not sure he is a "franchise" quarterback, but he is the best prospect we've had in a long time. It appears to me, and by no means am I an expert, Cutler's mechanics are way off. His feet move too much while in the pocket, even with no true rush coming at him. He throws off his back foot. I've heard many of you say and mention some of the same things, but my question is, HOW WILL IT GET FIXED? I don't believe the coaching staff can fix it. I'm not sure Jay will have the mentality to fix it. Then what? His confidence is shot. How does he get it back? Will he get it back, or are we stuck with shell of the quarterback we traded everything and the kitchen sink for? The o-line is not something that can be fixed in an instance. Jay could receive a career ending injury, or have a nervous breakdown before that could ever get fixed. Is he damaged goods? Will he ever be successful here? With no draft picks and no real coaching staff it appears that he is a lame duck quarterback. Itmakes it look like effort was given to better the offense, but he was not given any other tools to compete with. I know thisa is just a ramble, but I'd be interested in what the rest of you would have to say on this matter.
Just some observations...
Does anyone else find it troubling that this team plays with no emotion, just like our "beloved" Lovie? Cutler throws 5 picks and all he can do is make sure his socks are on right and put on a ball cap?!? If the receivers are in the wrong spot, get in their face and let them know it. Maybe that would help. If the coaching staff would get in players faces when they commit a stupid penalty or make a bone-headed play, maybe it would help to stop the behavior. Maybe if ownership would let the coaches know that standing on the sidelines with the same emotionless stare is unacceptable. Running the same bubble screen passes and play action passes with no running game is unacceptable. Does Jay have off the field issues, ie drinking? Does anybody besides us true die hard fans care? Lovie doesn't seem to, Turner is an idiot (by the way, it didn't work in his first stint as OC, he did nothing at Illinois, why did they think it would work this time around) We have the infamous coach of the 0-16 Lions helping us get better?!?, Jerry Angelo keeps making jack-ass decisions, the ownership keeps getting rich while we suffer. I cannot remember a time where the team (at least in theory) has so much talent, but no ability to translate it to the field. It falls on everyone, poor coaching, poor preparation, poor personal conduct on and off the field. Good grief, someone hit me with a large, blunt object to put me out of my misery, all the while my money goes to DirecTV so I can keep being tortured by these Bears games. It is like a horrible car crash, I don't want to look, but for some reason, I cannot stop staring at the carnage.
