Clemens named in Mitchell report
According to ESPN, Roger Clemens will be named today in the Mitchell report. Having recieved steroids from his personal trainer during his first tenure with the Yankees. This is the first big name to be leaked and could have hall of fame implications as many writers have said anybody mentioned in the report will not recieve their vote.

Who's available?
Okay, we all know the free agent market is pretty barren, but here it is. I'm assuming if a deal is made, it will be to either fill SS or 3B and let Figgins fill the other. Do you see anyone on this list who would actually be helpful?
Batista, Tony 3B
Bellhorn, Mark 3B
Branyan, Russell 3B
Cirillo, Jeff 3B
Feliz, Pedro 3B
Kata, Matt 3B
Koskie, Corey 3B
Lamb, Mike 3B
Mabry, John 3B
Clayton, Royce SS
Eckstein, David SS
Gomez, Chris SS
Nunez, Abraham SS
Perez, Neifi SS
Ransom, Cody SS
Woodward, Chris SS
Sentament makes me want Eck, buti f I had to choose, it would be Pedro Feliz. He hits pretty well with RISP, he's got some pop, he plays a solid third and I'm thinking he would be relatively cheap

An asterisk in Anaheim
While having a conversation with a Giants fan concerning the validity of the home run record, he said that Bonds along with A-Rod were predicted by a local sports talk show to be members of the Angels next year, (don't ask me what show or who it was, this is second hand). It got me thinking, how would Angel fans react to hearing, "Now batting for the Angels, Designated Hitter, Barry Bonds," over the Big-A PA system.

Marlins pres goes berserk
"It'll take the sport down, that contract," Samson vented. "Right back to the ridiculous contracts. It can't be."
This is in reference to Ichiro's contract extension. I personally think Ichiro is one of the top ten players in the game and deserves top ten money. The fact that he'll be 39 at the end of a contract worth about 18 mil per is suspect, but considering a player of his stature, (both here and in Japan), worth every penny. This was basically a heads-up to Miggy that he might want to find a real estate agent, he isn't staying in Florida.

All-Star Snubs
No O.C., no HGH, (although I wasn't holding my breath on that one). As a matter of fact, for the team with the best record in baseball, the highest avg. of any team in baseball, 4th in runs scored etc, we have one position player on the team. O.C. did get some love from Tony Gwynn on the selection show, but it's little consolation for someone who had his roster spot taken by Michael Young, (Rangers only selection).
