"Following Greg’s most recent physical examination and evaluation, we’ve determined that he has suffered a setback," said Trail Blazers President Larry Miller. "We’re hopeful, but less confident that he will return to the court this season. We’ve stood by Greg from the day he was drafted and we continue to do so now with this agreement."

Marc Stein Espn tweeted:
Story nailed by @KBergCBS. Knicks have jumped ahead of GSW for Tyson Chandler. Source close to talks: "New York is Tyson's first choice."

Now there is a chance no CP3 and no Chandler?

Tyson Chandler Quotes:

"I really think I'm going to be on a new team come training camp," Chandler told ESPN.com in a telephone interview Wednesday night. "I'm really taking a hard look at all of my options, trying to see what best suits me."

"I would like this to be settled by early next week," Chandler said. "I want to be in camp with my new teammates as soon as possible."

This was Dec 1. so early next week would be as in tomorrow and he was at the Niner game today. Does that mean he will be working out with his new warriors teamates at the facility tomorrow?

Another Jeremy Tyler video.
But if he can get anwhere close to this athleticism he could get a double double just running up and down the court.

Golden State Of Mind Lack of 3 point shooting

With the recent trades that have sent Azibuikie and Morrow to other teams, agruably the two best three point shooter that were on the team besides curry.  If the team is going to continue to run and gun like usual one of the most important things is to be able to hit the three point shot.  RASUAL BUTLER could help not sure if they could get him cheap.

Poll
Would Rasual Bulter a good fit to complete the roster?
Yes! Great Fit

No. They would have just matched the Nets offer for Morrow.

Athletics Nation On Base to Run Scored Percentage

I was thinking along with recent post on the homepage of this site about how important Rajai Davis is to the team involving his On base percentage and other categories.  That is when I got the idea of seeing with the entire A's team what is the percentage of certain players chances to score when they get on base.  So i took the players total runs scored statistic and divided it by the number of hits, walks, and hit by pitches added together to come up with an opproximent total times they have been on base. (could not get exact number of times reached base because cannot find out when they reached on errors or fielders choices.)

Total Runs  ÷  Total number of times on base = On Base to Runs Scored Percentage

I am not quite sure if this stat that I came up with really has that much significance , although there is some importance to it. I know it could be totally misleading with a guy like patterson who is only hitting .220 with limited at bats but has a 50% chance of scoring if he gets on, the low rate he gets on base is not worth the 50% chance of scoring when he gets on.

Although, with guys that are around a .300 on base percentage I think this stat could become somewhat relevent to how important a person is to scoring runs. (Could also depend on who is hitting behind certain players and other things like that.)

But from the calculations I did, Rajai Davis has about a 45% chance of scoring when he gets on which is the highest percent on the team who plays regularly.  This fact shows that there is some significance to the stat because with his steals he increase his chance to score.

I also included Ricky Henderson's 1985 season where he scored 146 runs and his on base to run scored percentage was 53%.

Just wondering if you guys thought there was any relevance to this stat? (sorry format got a lil messed up in the transfer from excell.)

Another interesting writing from realgm talks about Hollinger recent bashing on Monta, and how certain stats for Monta do not tell the whole story.

over 2 years ago Act_marco_belinelli_tiny Belinelli's the savior 0 comments

Talks about Riley seems to want to make a major deal at the deadline or offseason. Says they need to add another star to play along Monta and Maggette. So that means to get any type of star back the package probably includes either Biedrens, Randolph, or Curry most likley biedrens at this point. That is unless a will take the D league package for a star. haha. Sounds like Maggette is in the future plans now though.

Man it is unbeliveable how ignored Monta Ellis gets by the media and everyone. This video was made by yahoo sports to give some props to player that are having breakout years it included durant, rodney stucky, joakim noah, corey brewer, brook lopez, and jason thompson. WHERE IS MONTA. Besides Durant on that list the rest are scrubs compared to Monta. If Monta is not having a breakout year this year then who is. Besides the players on their original rookie contracts, Monta is probably one of the best players in the league for 11mill a year. This video is a joke.

Golden State Of Mind Was Jackson holding Monta back from his full potential?

Dont get me wrong Stephen Jackson was a key piece of the Warriors franchise for the past few years, but how he dominated the ball while he was with the warriors could have been holding Monta back from more performance like last night vs the Blazers.  Now with Jackson gone it seems so far that Monta does to a certain extent feel that the wins and loses for this team derectly come back to him because he is the best player on the team and it is now his team.  For example, when Jackson was on the team people on the team saw him as the leader and when you leader stays on the offensive end complaining about a call and the other team has a 4 on 5 cause Jackson doesnt come back to the defensive end, the rest of the players do not put as much emphasis on defense. IT STARTS WITH THE BEST PLAYER.

Jonathan Bender the 5th Pick in 1999 draft comming out of retirement and thinks he can still play. Knee problems forced his retirement so he would be cheap and at 6'11" and athletic could fit Nellie ball.

Golden State Of Mind Next Years Team.

When it comes to next years team this offseason will probably be just as important as last years offseason.  I think there is a chance that most of the bench could be an entirely different next year.

People staying: Monta, Randolph, Biedrens, Maggette, Turiaf, Morrow, Azibuike, Jackson

Players that need to get moved: Wright (will never get a good chance will Randolph there) and Belinelli (too much of a team player for the Warriors, passes the ball to everyone but never gets passed to), Crawford (if he dont opt out him and monta cant coexist he needs the ball too much, nice guy though)

Players dont need to resign: CJ Watson, Kurz, Davidson

Free Agents to get: Brandon Bass and Jay Kidd

Players to Draft: Best player available perferably a Big Man or Point Guard.

Maybe Thabeet or a guard that kidd could mentor to play along with monta.

2009-2010 Possible Line Up

PG Kidd

SG Monta

SF Jackson

PF Randolph

C  Biedrens

Bench: Maggette, Morrow, Bass, Turiaf, Azibuike

The rest of it could fill with either trades or free agency like a back PG

What direction do you guys think that the warriors will go next year?

Golden State Of Mind Why doesnt Nelson like Belinelli.?

Im sure you guys have all noticed, during this time where nelson is suppose to be developing the young guns belinelli has never played over 20 minutes except for last game.  Since Belinellis return from injury nelson has been looking for any little mistake he makes to pull him right away. For example in chicago last night when he did not realize the shot clock was winding down and passed it to crawford for almost a half court shot, and nellie pulled him right away.  Then soon enough a few possessions later the same thing happend with jack and nellie did not say anything.

The last few games he has started really good, against the timberwolves had 11 at half being the leading scorer and nelson plays only 3 min. in the second half. And then Chicago started off sharp and then when he made that one mistake that was the end of the night for him.

If all warriors got pulled for little mistakes then people would be comming in an out every second.  The wierd thing is Belinelli actually is one that plays good defense and he always gets pulled while morrow cant really gaurd nobody and cj has defensive trouble and crawford dont try on defense yet belinelli gets pulled for stupid things.

I was wondering if you guys think that Belinelli will ever be able to flourish under Don Nelson.?

Golden State Of Mind Is Crawford really needed once Monta's back?

After watching the portland game last night the rebounding problem has to be solved. There is no way they can win consistantly with other teams getting that many second chance points. So sine they are stacked with gaurds on the warriors, why not get rid of one of the guards for a quality rebounder to help Biedrens. Out of all the guards Crawford would make the most sense to get rid of since he's a volume shooter that shoots a low percentage on a team that has other players that demand the ball as well. Before Maggette's return i would have though he would have been the guy but latley he has fit in well.

Although Crawfords contract is not very attractive, with Belinelli's game improving and showing the ability to play both PG and SG, he is a good canidate to play alongside monta, being he could run the point but guard the SG because of his size. With monta in the lineup we dont need another gaurd who looks to shoot first instead of pass, while belinelli finds the open man. Not to mention CJ is shooting a high percentage and has a better shot seletion. Basically we need a rebounder for a gaurd and carwfords seems to be the one that is the least efficent.

Then i was looking at trade rumers and saw the article about Kaman, and that he could be out by the trade deadline.

http://www.prosportsdaily.com/comments/chris-kaman-is-probably-out-through-allstar-break-191312.html

A deal involving Crawford for Kaman would greatly help the team. Its a little too late this year but that would put them in a great position to make the playoffs next year. This is what their lineup could look like. Much deeper, better rebounding, still can put up points, better defensivley.

PG Monta

SG Belinelli

SF Jackson

PF Kaman

C  Biedrens

Bench

Maggette, Turiaf, Azibuike, Wright, Randolph, Watson, Morrow

What do you guys think of this move?

Golden State Of Mind Rookies vs Sophmores All Star Weekend.

Could we see a few of our warrior players at all star weekend in the rookie vs sophmore game?

If Belinelli keeps up his play that he has been doing latley up until the all star break he should get consideration to play on the sophmore team. I mean if it were not for the limited minutes he had early in the season where he had games on where he scored 2, 4, or even sometimes 0 his average would be up around 10ppg right now.

Also Brandon Wright but Nelson will never play him consistant minutes where he could shine.

Along with Belinelli, I think morrow will defenatly get consideration to make the rookie team because a lot of people around the league know about his story and two great games he had. Not to mention he is still averaging around 10ppg. If he could get around 12ppg I think he would get in for sure.

Here are some canidates for the upcomming game from this website:  http://my.nba.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5700027997:

-----------Rookies : --------------------------------Sophomores : --------------

PF : Michael Beasley - 6'9" 245lbs------PF : Al Thornton 6'8 220lbs
SF : Rudy Fernandez - 6'6" 185lbs-----SF : Wilson Chandler 6'8" 220

PG : Derrick Rose - 6'3" 190lbs----------PG : Ramon Session 6'3" 190lbs

2C : Brook Lopez 7'0" 260lbs------------2C : Al Horford 6'10 245lbs
2PF : Jason Thompson 6'11" 250lbs----2PF :Jeff Green 6'9 235lbs
2SF : Luc Mbah a Moute 6'8" 230lbs----2SF : Thaddeus Young 6'8" 220lbs

2PG : D.J. Augustin 6'0 180lbs-----------2PG : Aaron Brooks 6'0 160lbs

Golden State Of Mind NBA.COM Power Rankings

I was just looking at this weeks power rankings on Nba.com and was suprised where they had the warriors. They had the Warriors as the 25th best team in the NBA, only in front of Bobcats, grizzlies, wizards, timberwolves, clipps, and thunder. Is it just me or are they underestimating the warriors once again, just like they did against the Mavs in the playoffs. I know the team they have now is not quite the 07 playoff team but they are are better then 24th best in the NBA. Dont you guys agree that they better than what people are giving them credit for. Wait till Monta's back.

This is what they had to say about the Warriors:

Off: 106.9 (15), Def: 107.8 (19)
You may not have known what team Anthony Morrow played for before Saturday's 37-point barrage against the Clippers, but if there's one team an undrafted rookie could score 37 for in his fourth NBA game, it's Don Nelson's Warriors.

http://www.nba.com/powerrankings/

They may be saying that right now about Anthony Morrow but from the looks of what his is doing right now he could do for any team and is one of the most accurate shooters in the league.
