You have to love this draft for sure. We get Oline depth and a possible starter in Round One. Another WR and first round talent late in Round Two!!! Lastly the best pick of all in Round Three in CB Bentley!!! Love this kid. He could and should be a solid starter and very soon. Rounds 4-7 added great depth in secondary, LB core and Dline,and solid special teamers. Alos the second part of the draft is the signing off rookie free agents. You have to love the Kellen Moore signing and the rest look to be solid guys that hope to make a name for themselves. Now you never know how each draft class will turn out but by the looks of things this was very very very solid draft. GREAT JOB UPPER BRASS!!! GO LIONS!!!

I noticed him on the roster but was curious as to when we actually signed him?  Im guessing it was late last year during the season just dont remember when it would have been.  He is a formner high draft pick and m,ay work out well for us.  So I guess im wondering when we signed him and what everyone thinks of having him on board for the Lions Oline.  Oh and I love this draft so far!!!

I dont know if anyone sa\w the Kevin Walter TD that tied the Hou Jax game but why was that a TD?  It was no different then Megas I just dont get it and I dont want to beat a dead horse but man oh man.  I sounds like after the Mega play that the NFL has sort of changed the rule.  I cant find a clip but if anyone saw it please tell me what was different.  He dove caught the ball landed on his back then he didnt get up with the ball.  Dont get it.  Sorry guys just wondered if anyone else saw the play and got pissed about it.

Ok so im sick of not being able to run up the middle and he is the main issue.  Undersized and cant block.  Im also sick of Peterman but not as much as Raiola.  He is the oline leader as the center and he has played awful for years now.  I cant wait untill the draft or next offseason when this guy is finally replaced.  I want to be able to run up the middle and that will never happen with this guy.  Is anyone else on the same page as me?  I mean am I the only guy that knows that this is why we cant run the ball?  Raiola I want to be able to run the ball and as long as you are here we wont be able too.  Sorry just sick of this guy and his horrible play.  GO LIONS!!!

Im sorry if this post has already been answered somewhere but any updates on Stafford?  I didnt even hear anything during the game other then that he had ice on his shoulder?  I have not seen anything on espn.com nfl.com or heard anything on TV about what has happened.  Im assuming that its no big deal and he will play next week since no one anywhere is talking about it.  Anyone hear anything?

Michigan State and Detroit both dominate thier opponents!!!  I have to say that all three phases in both teams victories were awesome.  More specificly the Lions now.  Offense looked sharp all day.  I especially liked the way the Oline played,  specificly the guards Sims and Peterman.  Defense was great especially Peterson with 11 tackles and a sack.  Special teams enough said.  Yes both teams played lesser opponents but they were both great wins!!!  GO LIONS!!! GO GREEN!!!

I was hoping he would be ok but it looks like he is done for this year at least.  He didnt play awesome but he did play ok against Chicago.  I was looking forward to seeing him play a little bit more and to keep improving but it wont be this season.  At least we brought in Vashar to replace him.  GO LIONS!!!!

With the 7th pick the Detroit Pistons select Greg Monroe from Gerogetown university.  The 6' 11" 240 pound center will be a much better pro then a college player.  In college Monroe was asked to do everything for a Georgetown team that played both the princeton offensive and defensive systems.  In the NBA with the pistons he wont have to be the same type of defender as he was in college, which in turn will make him better.  Why you ask?  Well heres the answer.  Monroe first of all will be a better player with age on both offense and defense.  His defensive game will improve dramaticly with Big Ben Wallaces help let alone the help of a NBA coaching staff.  He will also get stronger and fitter with the help of Arnie Kander and his staff.  On offense he already has the 15-18 foot jumoer down and yes he will develop a low post game as he gets stronger.  The outside jumper also makes him a plus player at the NBA level for his position.  I really invision Monroe as a Kevin Garnett type of player one day for whatever team he plays for.  Hopefully that is the Pistons.  Does anyone else out there agree with my assesment?

I know this is a pistons blog but I think we should all wish Ernie Harwells family the best and remember the greatest announcer in sports history...I remember listening to games on the radio with my grandpa as a small child and how big a fan he was of Ernie...It grew on me and I even got to meet Mr. Harwell once and he didnt blow me off as he chatted with me for a good 10 minutes....A great announcer but an even better person...You will be missed by the baseball world and the whole state of Michigan...Rip Ernie.

....These picks make this team better for sure....A lot of people seem to be upset becasue we basically gave up a 7th and moved down 28 spots in the 4th...However im ok with this because I believe if there is someone the coaching staff likes in the 4th as it gets closer to there pick they can move up and package a 7th to get the guy they really want.....They could also pick up a pick by moving down in the 3rd rd as well....A lot could happen in the draft....Im just glad they got the guy they wanted and didnt wait on it and let someone move into the 33 spot overnight to grab him.....Love the move....GO Mayhew!!! I personally like this signing.....Bringing him back for a shot to make the squad.....He can spell guys on passing downs if he has recovered from his injuries......At least they brought him back to see if he can play.....So I for one wish him well and hope he can recover and make the team....Always has been a team player and you can never have to many of them....if he can stil play that is....GO LIONS!!!!

I guess people dont undersatnd why I want the team to play well and win games instead of mailing in the season.....Well one reason is no matter where you pick you in the draft you are guaranteed nothing.....Each and every draft has guys picked in the top 5 that dont work out...heck even some with the top pick (Olawakandi).....So my reasoning is why not win games and let the young guys feel what its like to win and play in games while they are winning and stil pick in the top 8?.....You are stil going to get a shot at a great player and I mean a great player picking in the top 8 and winning late can lead to great things for next season.....Guys like Daye, Summers and Bynum get a shot to play more minutes and feel what its like to win games to end this dismal year......I also understand why some poeple just want them to lose but like I said its no guarantee that anything will work out.....Oden and Griffin to name a couple have been injury prone and there are always Kwames and Olawakandis out there.....You may as welll win and play the young guys ya got to gain expieience for next year......Thats why I say dont mail anything in late in a year.

....and I gota say it im pumped as always....Id be pumped even if we were picking 32nd.....The Draft is where its at.....That being said id be happy with almost andy player weve discuseed on all areas of this blog....Suh, Mccoy, Berry the only guy I dont like is Okung....I just believe he has bust written all over him.....Id also be happy with trading down and picking up more picks this year and next.....That being said im sure Mayhew will make the right decision for the future of this franchise that I love.....The draft is where its at and I for one cant wait until 7:30 eastern time April 22nd!!!!

Ive seen a lot of pople saying that the spring is just for working on things, which I agree with, and getting into shape, which I also agree with, However what do we do with guys like Ajax, Bondo, Robertson and Galaraga who are fighting for 25 man roster spots?  I mean we have to decide on who will be on the team and who wont right?  I mean Willis and Robertson looked good last time out however does it matter in the end becasue the teams they were facing  were also working on there swing and getting ready for the season?  In Ajax case is it fair to say hes having an impressive spring hitting over .400 becasue the pitchers are working on stuff?  There has to be some weight taken into spring training numbers right?  Or does it mean the 25 man roster is already on Mr. Dombroskis desk and the players are doing it all for nothing other then getting into shape.  So my questions to everyone are as follows.  What stock do you put into spring training games for hitters and pitchers since they are both working on things? and also, Does it matter what the above mentioned pitchers do in the spring becasue the oposition is working on things and just taking it easy?  My answer is heck yes Ajax has been impressive. Does it mean hes going to hit over .300 I dont think so but who knows.  As for the pitchers I also think its important that the spring will have some weight in the decision.  Thank You in advance.

This guy is young and signed for depth.....Im also guessing he fits more into Schwartz and Cunninghams system....So in order to get this to 75 words ill end with this.....Im excited to see how these guys all pan out......I like seeing last years guys work out becuase as we all know the last 10 yrs guys really hadent worked out as a whole....So keep bringing in your guys Schwartz and Mayhew....Im loving it!!!

......Last year they had been quite a few signings and trades being discussed by this point....Im kinda disapointed with the lack of signing around the laegue....Restricted or Not guys should be moving or at least more chatter....Weve been the big movers thus far with 2 signings and a trade and also rumored to be talking to Ryan Clark saftey from the Steelers....Stil not much movement....Anyone else suprised by lack of movement around the league?
 

......The kid from Detroit is going to come home is what im thinking....He will sign a contract that isnt huge and will be in Detorit come friday.....One reason I would like him to sign with Detroit is the fact that he hasent had a lot of wear and tear on his body.....Hes had 1200 less carries then Jones and is a year younger....These reasons alone make me want Chester to come home to Detroit and finish his career....Whats everyone else thoughts on Chester over Thomas?

......LeGarrette Blount from Oregon and James Starks from Buffalo.....As many of you know I love Ben Tate but I think he will be gone by the 3rd and I think we have bigger needs to take a RB that high.....I guess I should explain I think we will sign a FA so the need wont be as big....I like Blount for obvious reasons big guy that can run and he actually didnt take much punishment in college becasue he missed quite a few games his senior year.....James Starks from Buffalo is  6-2 211 that missed his senior year due to injury but had 1100 as a sophmore and 1300 as a junior.....he had a sloid 40 time and I just cant remember what it was....I like either of these guys to go with Kevin Smith and a FA and Aaron Brown ....What do you guys think of my 2 underated backs...Blount and Starks?

.....This guy is going to be the next Kearse.....Watching him at the combine so far he is going to be amazing....hes going to be a top 10 pipck and I know we cant get him but wow.....Accelatation, Speed, Strength he has it all....I wish we could get this guy becasue he is a future pro bowler.....Id stil rather have Mccoy Or Suh because those guys are heads above the other guys in this draft but I would put Pierre Paul 4th behing Mccoy, Suh and Berry.

When I first saw this it didnt bother me to much but then I saw the contract and it would have been perfect for Detroit....900,000 and 300,000 in incentives....Man I would have given him 1 year 1.5 right off the bat....Who knows maybe we did offer him and he did not want to sign with us....Im stil not to upset because hes never really proven himself in the NFL but for less then a mil I think Baltimore got a deal.....Whats everyone else out there think?

....I wont post a link because I know not everyone is a member so ill just recap it.....Detroit per a couple sources is activly trying to trade Hamilton and his 3 year 34 mil remaining contract.....It also says that if they cant get anything done before the deadline that they will try again in the off season....I guess this doesnt surprise me at all I just thought Tay would be the one traded first.....this leads me to believe that it may be a Rip and Daye trade for a big man.....What does everyone else think at this point with Pistons activly trying to trade Rip?

....I must not have hit the right button on my last try....how about the game Stuckey had?.....he proved to us all that he is a team leader and a great player last night....Playing through numerous injuries and gutting it out everynight.....Amazing game 26 11 and 5....Wow!!!.....He showed great leadership against Boston and excellent decision making....I think everyone would agree it was a great game and a step in the right direction for his game....So what did everyone else think about last nights game by this future all star?

So these I believe are the 5 biggest questions of 2010:

1) After JV, Porcello and Scherzer What Will We Get Out Of The Starters?

I really think that Bonderman comes back and pitches well this year however it may be wishful thinking on my part,  and you have to believe that a lefty will start and thats between Robertson and Coke.  Hopefully one of the two steps up.  So I guess we can hope for 3 nice days and 2 rainouts or hope that bondo and nate are good to go.

2) How will Ajax And Sizemore Do?

I think that both will do ok and definetly wont be the worst hitters on the team.  I love both these guys but all accounts on Jackson say he isnt ready.  Sizemore is coming off an injury.  Hopefully both will step and not try to do to much and just do what they do best to help the team win.

3) Which Magglio Bat Will We See?

Will we see the Magglio of the second half of 09 or the 1st half of 09?  Im thinking somewhere in between.  He did have some personal problems in the 1st half and I think that affected his play.  He showed that in the 2nd half and especially in September that he was doing all he could to get the tigers into the postseason.  Also will Detroit let his 13 mil option kick in for 2011? Im not sure I think its 135 games but dont quote me on that.

4) Will Miguel Be Miguel?

This obviously is in regards to the end of last season.  It sounds like per recent reports he is doing everything he needs to show to us fans and himself thats hes trying to be a better man.  Im guessing he has a huge year to prove to the fans he is ready to go from day 1.

5) The Inge Surgeries?

One thing no one seems to be talking about is the fact that Inge is coming off a double knee surgery and he isnt getting any younger.  He has never been a great hitter by any stretch of the imagination but will he at least be able to hit like he did early in 2009.  We need him to be the player he was for the 1st 2 months of 09 all year.

What does everyone else think of these 5 items.
