Second City Hockey Kovy

I would first like to say I am a big fan if the hawks do decide to go through with a deal for Kovy. With our cap problems for next year I think this is a smart move. I just wanted to make some observations about Kovy that worry me just a little. First off the guy has never been a plus player. I know he has played for atlanta but he did play with hossa for awhile and we have scene that hossa is one hell of a 2 way player. Anyone who has watched a thrashers game knows kovy wanders the ice in his own zone either looking for a cheap turnover or cheating for a break away. How is Q going to be able to reel this guy in? Also how bad does this guy want a cup. If he wants the max deal he can't want a cup that bad. Your putting your team in an 11 million dollar hole before you get to anyone on the roster. Also this guy is it in Atlanta. The thrashers have some young talent in Little and Bogosian but how is he going to handle falling in line with this team were there are multiple great players. Now I know some of you will say Hossa will help him fall in line but Hossa couldn't wait to get out of Atlanta. He made it loud and clear by midseason he wasn't going to reup with the thrashers. Now I don't know all the factors that went into it but I bet Hossa and Kovie don't talk much any more. Another thing that bugs me is this guy brings barely any playoff experience. 2 points in 4 games played isn't saying much. The one thing I think that we have going for us is the contract year. His numbers reflect that. He has 51 points in 40 games and is only a minus 1.  Kovalchuk on the back of a Hawks sweater still gives me chills though. You can't ignore what a game changer this guy is on the offesive side of the ice.

I know there is still a small chance the deal will happen but its fun to talk about these things.

Thanks for reading guys and also thank u second city guys for giving me something to read during tv timeouts so I don't have to text what my favorite pizza topping is.
