Halos Heaven Good?, Bad?, Who Knows?

    1) Last year most of us thought we we're going to the World Series, and even with Tex,  we didn't. (If we had made it, I'm sure we would have resigned him,  but 7 singles isn't worth 175 million)

    2)  I've been noticing a sentiment among some that we won't make it this year because x, y, and z

    3) Just a friendly reminder, when we think its good, it can be bad (I actually wanted to take on Boston in the first round, cause I just knew that we would beat them!),  and when we think its bad, it can be good (only time will tell)

Halos Heaven Contract Extension For Vlad?

Looking at the Free agent bidding war process, and how uncertain it can be, I would like to see Vladimir Guerrero under contract beyond next season before he becomes a free agent.  I feel like this might be getting lost in the shuffle.

1.  He is the Most entertaining player on the team!  I love watching him hit,  he has serious Style.

2.  He is my girlfriend's favorite player  (and mine)

3.  Teix is great and all, but he is boring, and proving that he is all about the $$ , those are not qualities that make someone a favorite player.

4.  One "down" year and  he's "in decline"?  C'mon, look at Manny's 2007.  With his health on the upswing, and him entering a contract year, he is poised to prove to the world that he is still an MVP .  He's still has seasons of excellence in him.

These are some of my thoughts,  what d'you  think?

Halos Heaven Wouldn't it make more sense to sign Lackey to an extension, rather than sign CC?

I for one would rather see Lackey signed to an extension, than pay all that money to CC.   I know we pretty much all agree that signing Tex is the most important move.  Who would rather have CC than Lackey?  Is it possible that the club would sign CC and Lackey?   We all know Lackey will require some big bucks as well.   I just don't see the FO paying out as much money as it would take to have both aces on our staff past 2009. So if it came to one or the other,  who do you want past 2009?
