Pirates on verge of signing Bobby Crosby?
http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2009/12/pirates-on-verge-of-signing-bobby-crosby.html
I think this would be a smart move, good competition for Cedeno, and Crosby is versatile SS, 3B, and some 2B, i mean former 1st rd pick and rookie of the year in the AL he has shown he has power, but hopefully he can stay healthy... prob only a one year deal so he can rebound. Well hopefully he can rebound here in pittsburgh!
Pirates Promote TABATA to AAA!
According to John Perrotto the Pirates are promoting Jose Tabata to AAA. Tabata is batting 303. with 2HRs (15 Doubles) and 25 RBI in only 61 Games due to injury early on this season...Tabata is on fire his last 10 games hitting 390 and has been crushing the ball the past month of July... Jose is only 20 Yrs old and in triple A nice birthday present for Tabata who will be turning 21 Yrs old on August 12th.
Zach Duke Best Pitcher Available on the Market?
Alright with the recent trades of Freddy and Jack, i really like the return a lot... and think NH and his staff did a tremendous job on both deals...that being said I don't think they should try and stop there, as i sit here and look at other trade rumor sites I see that Cliff Lee is now off the table (Phillies), Jarrod Washburn (Seattle) will probably not be moved since the recent acquisitions of Jack and Snell seems to me like they think there trying to go for it, and with Roy Halladay's price tag being so high! Who does that leave as the best available pitcher at the deadline???
My opinion it is Zach Duke, whos having a career year and has improved tremendously working with Joe Kerrigan and almost every time out he has a quality start. Yesterdays game vs SF it was said that Detroit, LA Angels, and the Texas Rangers were all there and scouting Duke, who i might say pitched a hell of a game going 7innings of shut out ball and upped his trade value even maby higher than it already was....
So my question is if NH should be trying to move Zach hard? or Let the teams come to him? I know hes not in no urgency to deal Duke but i think Zach could bring us a incredible return.... if 31yr old Freddy Sanchez making 8.1mil next year can bring us a Tim Alderson!!! What can a starting pitcher (always coveted at the deadline) 26 yrs old, having a career year with a 3.26 ERA bring us?????? I would love to find out though, don't get me wrong i like Zach Duke a lot and enjoyed watching him pitch this year.... But his Value never be higher, and the bucs are moving towards 2011 and 2012....I Feel they should move him and get an try and get an incredibily haul for him! Which i believe they can get from all the teams mentioned that was scouting him... Thoughts?

Completely Agree with everything John Perrotto said...Just clean slate everyone thats not apart of the future and let these kids play...i know the trades of Jack and Freddy at the end of the month will probably be the hardest for all the fans who are anti-huntington...but i feel this is the only way they will contend again.
Should the Pirates make a play for Delmon Young?
I was on a MLB Rumor site and I saw on Article say that Delmon Young of the Twins is "exceptionally available." Which got me thinking he's a former 1st Overall pick, Right Handed Bat with loads of potential, and is still only 24 years old. The only thing is the power hasnt really been there but in his 2nd year in the bigs with the Rays he did drive in 93 RBI's... I'm just wondering if you guys think the Pirates should take a chance and try and acquire him if it all works out he has the potential to be a middle of the order type of bat in my opinon...if the Twins don't ask for too much i think i make an attempt to acquire Young...Just my opinion though.
Can Andy LaRoche play 2nd Base?
With the logjam at 3B with Andy LaRoche, Neil Walker, and Pedro Alvarez... and a great probability that Freddy Sanchez will be moved in the next month...What are the chances of the Pirates moving Andy to 2B and bringing up Neil Walker and let him play 3B?
I think this makes the most sense out of all the situations instead of moving Neil to another position like Shortstop which i don't think he can play... I do believe Andy played some 2nd Base in the dodgers system coming up through... and his numbers right now are more in line with a 2nd Baseman with about a 300. AVG and only 2 HRs.....What do you guys think?
