What iF??
What do you think would have been the Giants fate if they had not lost the Meadowlands Meltdown game to the Eagles? Would they have been successful in the playoffs. Not many people remember that if we would have won that game, we would have been in the playoffs instead of Green Bay, with a possible 1st round bye. So for all we know, we could have replaced the Packers in the Super Bowl. Ideas??
GMEN Wide Receiver Update...And Not A Good One
It was reported today that our 3rd down specialist Steve Smith will require knee surgery that is going to side line him for THE REST OF THE SEASON!! yes, you read it right, smith us out for the rest of the 2010 season. this really hurts us, especially with the value he has to our team. nicks, mario, boss, pascoe, the RB's and hagan will need to step up. oh and that brings up manningham. he said in an interview that he will be reared and ready to go. its gunna be a crazy day at the meadowlandsm and an interesting one at that. thoughts??
Giants Game Monday Night
The NFL Network has just stated the Giants game will be on Monday night and NOT tomorrow!!!!! So maybe after all we will be able to whoop brett favre if this extra day gives him time to rest up. we will see what happens, but i cant wait to see a win either way!!! this should be an interesting game with all of the hype. go giants!! (maybe this can give smith and nicks time as well)
A Win is a Win!!!!
That's how I feel. Any way to get a win, especially with our injuries, we should take. With two exact opposite halves, I was at the game, and enjoyed myself very much. I feel confident going into next week, where I don't think we should have a problem with Washington. Minnesota might give us a bit of trouble (we have not played well against them in te past few years), but I think we can pull it off. I think our best chance of making the playoffs is going into the Philly game winning 3 in a row, and hopefully having a split with them and the Packers. Who knows...it should be interesting. Thoughts? And whats the timetable for the return of Smith, Nicks, O'Hara, and Diehl?
Looking ahead, and with a positive outlook...
Yeah, all of the injuries are killing us but I still think we have a great shot as making the playoffs. Winning the next 3 games in a row is not a big deal. Really! We can beat the Jags, the Redskins are a hit or miss, and look at the Vikings. By the time the Eagles game comes around, we will hopefully have almost every one back, of course probably not Nicks, and if we almost beat them with injuries last night, hey, who knows? So what do u think our chances are of making the playoffs? And whats the timetable for the return of our o-linemen? Stay strong and believe in our giants!!
Transfers...
Out of any professional athlete in all of sports, which one person would you chose to become a New York Giant? What position would you have them play? Why would they be successful? For me.... I think that dwight howard would be an awesome tight end. He's big, has good hands, can jump, and is relatively fast for his size! Imagine, him and kevin boss playing together, i think that would be pretty cool to watch. (Have fun beating that!!!)
If you could...
If you could go back in time, which NON-PLAYOFF, HOME, game at giants stadium would you want to go to? I am only 16, so I cannot remember all of the great regular season games that have been played, however my choice would be the NFC Championship Game against the Vikings. I was young, but I have heard and seen highlights about it. Not only because the Vikings are my least favorite non-divisional team, but because it was a blow-out. So, what do you think???
HMMMMM...
If you were able to chooseONE Giants player or coach come to spend an entire day with...who would it be? Why? With this person what would you choose to do, and why? For me, I would want to spend a day with Ahmad Bradshaw. He has so much energy and I would think he would have a great time spent doing anything. I would definitely go out to eat, play some madden, and have him take me to an inside look at the New Meadowlands Stadium!!
Thoughts?......
Just the other day, I was playin Magdden '10 and, of course being the G-MEN, I came to remember that the Giants have their red alternate jerseys. Now, I completely forgot about these, being that they never wore them this year (thank God.). Anyway, do you think that the Giants should dump the red alternate uniforms and bring in their throwback uniforms as their new alternate. I think this would be a great idea, as I never got to see the Giants wear these (I was born in '93). What do you think?
Who is your favorite Giant EVER...and WHY?
Out of pure curiosity, who is your favorite Giant of all time. Why is he your favorite. Was it his number, position, energy, skill, personality...?
My favorite Giant of all time is Jessie Armstead No. 98!!! Now, being that I have only been around for 16 years, he is the first person who I truly remember of my youth. Of course there's LT, Simms, Bavaro, and others, but he is my favorite. My uncles took me to meet him a few times, and I have at least four different versions of his autograph hanging in my room. I still have my first No. 98 jersey packed away in my attic, by Jessie is, and always will be, my favorite Giant player ever!
Question???
If you were able to choose any three players in the NFL, that are not currently on the Giants, and place them on the G-MEN's roster, who would you pick? For these three players, which Giants would you be willing to trade away? (At a reasonable price)
For me, I would add Troy Polamalu, and Lary Fitzgerald, along with Jon Beason! It is a tough decision but they would obviously help both sides of the ball!
My feelings...
Where to start... Overall, we know this season was a huge disappointment. However, I have to say one thing on this topic. I have been a die-hard Giants fan for all 16 years of my life. Through all the ups (SB 42...) and downs (49rs loss...), i have never had anything bad to say about the G-MEN. HOWEVER, with all of the pride we as fans show to our team, they really didn't even try to reward us back. Hey, there is always next year, and you can't win them all, I get that. But, at the same time, pride, tradition, and glory is something else. For the past two months, I feel that the players didn't want to play, even though they were 5-0. They dissapointed me, and i am ashamed of the way the final two games were played.
THE FINAL GAME IN GIANTS STADIUM!!!! and they play like that? Are you kidding me? THE FINAL GAME OF THE SEASON!!!! and they didn't even bother tackling. (How many times were our defenders standing around????)
So what i am trying to say is... the season is over, and there is nothing you can do about it. I just wish that some sort of pride and thanks would have been shown to us, the loyal fans. Because if you ask me, i am as loyal as it come to the Giants, and i don't get paid to be that way.
Your thoughts????
In defense of Sheridan...
first off, i think the offensive play by the Giants should be realized as a positive. 38 points against the Eagles is quite a feat. however, as we all know, the all-mighty giants defense that has been the base of our team for the past couple of years needs to step it up.
along with this, to me, sheridan isn't the main problem. (of course he has something to do with it...) is sheridan the one putting on the pads and playing. i don't think so! you can only do so much from the sideline. i think it is time to stop worrying about sheridan and have the players themselves step up. what are your thoughts????
dont forget...a dallas loss to the Saints (which is very likely) and we beat the 'skins...we're in the playoffs and will control our destiny to stay there
What are the chances...
what do you think the chances are of the Giants completing all five of these ideas...?
1) beating Atlanta this week,
2) winning in Denver (regardless the traveling saga),
3) winning 2 of 3 out of the three consecutive division games to begin the December season (Dal.,Phi.,Wsh),
4) beating favre at the end of the regular season,
5) and finally surviving the playoffs, making the superbowl as a result!?
100-85% (very good chance)
84- 70% (its a possibility)69-50% (hmm...not so much)
49-20% (it would be a miracle)
19-0% (it cant happen AT ALL)
Season Prediction!
So far, the Giants are 4-0, as we all know. If you were to pick a finishing regular season record, and playoff picture for them, what would it be. My guess is this...
12-4 regular season record... winning the division again.
(I think the saints and Vikings will give us a run for top seed)
Honestly, i believe that if the Giants can make it to the playoffs without the first two seeds, they will have a better chance of making the super bowl. I think they will win all three playoffs games, the last one being at the Meadowlands, and going on to win the super bowl. i think this is another Big Blue year!!!!
Giants Future!
I have come to the consensus that I was a little too rushed on counting out the other NFC East teams. I was wrong for automaticall saying the Philly defense is done, even though it is shaken up. However, I still believe that Dallas and Washington will not be too big of a worry for us. I still feel confident that the g-men will be able to win the division. Even though they have a tuogh schedule this year, they usuallu pull through. I still want to know how far you believe the Giants will make it this upcoming year?????
Go Big Blue!!
What do you think will be the ending position for the g-men by the end of the season?
Not make the playoffs, win division, make a wild-card spot, win conference, win/lose Super Bowl?
I feel that they have a very strong chance of making and even winning the Super Bowl. Dallas is done already without T.O., Philly almost lost their entire defense, and the 'Skins can't beat our defense. I think that we have a great chance of winning the division, making the playoffs as a 2 seed, and making it back to the game where we belong.
