Josh Howard out "indefinitely"; catalyst for a trade?

With Redd hobbled again, but likely to make a return to the court sometime soon, would a Josh Howard/Dampier for Redd and some combo of PF/C trade be realistic and a smart move for both teams? With Howard hobbled as well, the Mavs would be banking on Redd being able to contribute soon and fill a big whole in their starting line-up, as well as adding a guy like DG (he's actually playing well of late) or the combo of Elson and Thomas to strengthen their front line. The Bucks get a very good, starting SF (though unable to contribute for who knows how long, the current line-up is playing solid team ball, producing wins and energizing the fan base) and a back-up C with both players' contracts expiring at the end of the year (I believe Dampier's contract has a stipulation for the second year based on limited playing time this year).

Redd could help the Bucks, no doubt, however, I can't imagine Hammond has plans for him in this rebuilding process (remember how the pundits thought trading Stackhouse for the little known Hamilton was a mistake?)! The Bucks could potentially be a MAJOR players in the big 2010 free agent bonanza (not that I think they'll land LeBron, but I do think Bosh or Wade are both possibilities if the team had the available resources).

It's all about the future ... though the present compilation of players is very fun to watch!

A trade that allows Bucks to land Boozer ...

What do you think: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=lzkp3q ?

It seems like it works well for everyone involved! Dallas gets Redd (as all the rumors seems to indicate they ARE intested). Utah gets a starting wing and a back-up to Millsap, and the Bucks get two expiring contracts, and fills that gaping hole at PF (plus a promising young sg).

I still think Boozer would be gone in 2010 if he plays for the Bucks, but at least this finally gets the team looking even more financially stable (somehow, Hammond needs to get rid of DG).

San Antonio's 2nd Round Pick

I'm confused as to why Blair dropped so far when a lot of what I was reading (fan and NBA insider alike) he was a mid first rounder and a probable solid contributor right away. But I'm even more confused as to why he didn't end up on this increasingly young Bucks team. Could Blair have been the PF this team has been lacking for decades ... a true PF? It seems no one really would have guessed he would have dropped so far, but he could have been a Buck! What would it have taken for SA to simply include a 2nd round pick in the very lopsided RJ trade? My guess is that if Hammond was just a bit more adamant, he could have gotten that 2nd rounder that ended up being DeJuan Blair! And furthermore, SA has been known for evaluating talent and, given their choice for Blair in the 2nd round, it seems if they were willing to gamble on Blair, there must be something there.
