Mr. Orton

Your boy BRC here. We've had our ups and downs together and i'm sure you would understand and forgive that in the past I have cursed your name... but you were a Bronco after all. I just want to thank you for how you've handled a difficult situation in a very professional way. I know that when Denver set you free that KC was prolly not your ideal destination but you have embraced your chance here with grace. I hesitate to speak for everyone but in my opinion you have given us, Chiefs fans, a ray of light through a cloudy season that has shed only darkness upon us. While those who are a mile high celebrate thier savior, I just want you to know that I and many others celebrate ours. God Bless.

Kiffin has also found it hard to win without being able to pay players.

You know who's to blame for the Baldwin - Jones fight?
The secondary.
If just one of those guys stepped in front of Baldwin this wouldn't have happened... everyone knows he can't get by a jam.

(Above is a link to Yahoo's carrer stats for Barrett Ruud... just so all the stats are there to prove that I'm only slightly being a homer about his value.)

It appears that Tampa Bay is going to pass on re-signing Ruud... and Kellen Winslow Jr and the rest of the team aren't happy about it... This kid (28) has been a VERY consistant performer for them and by all accounts a leader in the locker room. A former Blackshirt, Barrett is a smart player and a helluva tackler... He won't be flashy but that is EXACTLY the kind of player we need next to DJ. He would be a strong upgrade over Belcher and given the head scratching lack of interest in him I would bet we could land him for a very resonable price.

Am I drinking too much Husker Kool Aid? Am I wrong on this guy? Let me know what you think....

Dear Steve Breaston,

Your boy BRC here....can I call you Stevie B?.... No?.... That's cool.... I would like to welcome you to Chiefs nation with much anticipated arms wide open. I believe your addition will solidify a, at times, struggling offense. I think I can speak for most Chiefs fans when I say we are VERY excited to have you as a part of our family.

(P.S. If you work your tail off and maybe throw in some MMA you may just unseat a former Chiefs WR and become a legend in Canada.)

This one has me scratching my head because I would assume that both Leinart and Jackson wanted to be starters buuuuuuuuuut now they will be locked in a 3 way QB battle with skrappy Charlie Whitehurst. Good fit for Leinart.... I predict he opens the season as the starter.

Mike, thanks for the couple of solid years and for helping mold this young nucleus into winners. You will be missed.

Arrowhead Pride The Chiefs... The Movie

This morning I was reading my daily dose of Arrowheadlines (Thank you NJ Chiefs Fan for all your hard work) and the first link was to an article written by Bob Gretz entitled Summer Blockbuster - The Chiefs... The Movie.

If you would care to read it... I just happen to have a link on me: The Chiefs... The Movie

I started to read the article but it became quickly apparent to me, half way through reading Gretz's reasoning for his pick to play Clark, that I didn't care WHY he picked those actors... it was more fun to scroll through the side by side pics and envision said actor playing said character. I have a few thoughts and changes..... This is where you jump.

"From the 2008 team, Ellis alleges that cornerback Donald Washington traded memorabilia for tattoos. Washington now plays for the Chiefs; his agent, Neil Cornrich, did not return SI's calls requesting comment."

Good Article from SI on the back story of Jim Tressel.
Page 3 mentions the above quote about Washington.

Things I'm man enough to admit I was wrong about on AP:

  1. Legarret Blount - This one has to go first. I have been VERY critical of Blount and I have to say I was wrong about his ability to be a productive player in the NFL.
  2. Josh Freeman - So far Freeman has looked like a promising young NFL QB. I never doubted he had the tools, I just didn't think he would pan out.
  3. Terrence Cody - I haven't be "wrong" really but he hasn't made the impact I thought he would (insert fat joke below).
  4. Tim Tebow - Again, I haven't been "wrong" but he has had very little production thus far on a bad team
  5. Sam Bradford - I figured this guy was overrated as the #1 pick but he has been very solid this season

I'm really suprised he wasn't even kept on at least as depth....

Just noticed I was beaten to this by mere seconds by KcChiefsfan506....

I was just in SD this week for business The big news down there was that the SD team doctor had written 108 perscriptions to himself. The more that this gets looked into, there may be a few less SD players to contend with in the opener.

(I thought this was a nice catch by Supersport and didn't want it to get lost in a FanPost. Good work SS. - BigRedChief)

BigRedChief to the Field Gulls?

I have been informed by Joel and Chris Thorman that I may be traded to the Field Gulls, the Seattle Seahawks SBNation home, in the coming few days. Joel said Pete Carroll has contacted him about acquiring my services in hopes of boosting team moral and has made a very compelling offer. I can only assume the compensation will be something along the lines of two twinkies and a Capri Sun pouch.

All of this good vibe and positivity coming from Arrowhead has me kinda worried that we might actually win some games this year.... hurry someone get T.O. on the phone.

Hello AP, BigRedChief here,

With tensions running high due to the Big 12 shake up I would like to take a moment to say that reguardless of our collegiate alliances we are all Chiefs fans. It's the diversity of our backrounds that makes AP so great, a place were we can all go to discuss the Chiefs and NFL football in general. Remember that who you root for on Saturdays does not affect who you root for on Sundays.

Go Chiefs!

They break his salary down to how much he earned per completion and win. These stats probably make Al Davis wish he stayed dead.

Good Morning AP, BRC here....

Last night I was... I wouldn't say upset but more disappointed. I do believe my last comment, before I HAD to put the laptop down and walk away, was "Someone point me to the ledge". I could't wrap my brain around some of the picks.
I awoke this morning with a new found respect for the picks and a much better outlook. This is a team that Pioli and Co. are building for US, not for what we WANT. It's about the product on the field and the quality of the players on the field.
- McCluster in the slot will, most likely, be a fantastic addition to a position that has been less than stellar. Looking forward to his versatality and production.
- Arenas WILL BE a very good return man and for those who have never seen this kid play, well you are in for a treat because this guy is a flat out exciting showman. I have no doubt that he will be a fan favorite very soon.
- Tony Mo (that's right I am already using a nickname for him) Has all the tools to be a very good NFL TE. Think Cottom but a better blocker. Hopefully the health issues will not be an issue. I love this kid's hands.
Finally, it occured to me that what seems to be a logical choice to me may be completely different than what this staff wants on the field. They are changing the game. This is what all great teams and coaching staffs do, they break from the norm, they change the way the game is played. I can honestly say that I have no idea what is coming next but I am sure that it is going to be a team like no other in the NFL. This staff, well most of it, has done this once before in NE and became the class of the NFL birthing leauge wide copy-cats and The Patriot Way.

This is the start of The Chief Way.
Go Chiefs!!!!

Mr. Eric Berry, it's your boy BRC here, how are you this morning?

First I would like to welcome you to the Kansas City Chiefs. We are a class organization, we have the best fans in the NFL and we are passionate about our football team. We look forward to seeing you lead our defense to great heights. From your gametape I can see that you are an impressive football player and judgeing by the way you conduct yourself I can see that you are just as impressive off the field. I have no doubt that you will be an excellent addition not only to our favorite team but also to our community. Welcome to Arrowhead Mr. Berry, you're going to love it here.

Arrowhead Pride The Chiefs Cannot Afford to Lose on Draft Weekend

I posted this as a reply to Matt Connor's front page article entitled:

The Chiefs Cannot Lose on Draft Weekend

I thought it was a pretty decent play off of what he was trying to get across but this time with reasons we cannot afford to lose on draft weekend.

(Btw, that is a great article by Matt)

I thought this was interesting, especially the new "taunting" rule, I could definately see the NFL putting that into effect.

Watching the Superbowl play out the way it did, I started thinking about what would mean more to me as a Chiefs fan. Would I rather be like the Colts and hold a decade of dominance filled with expectations, disappointments, playoff loses, two Superbowl appearences and one win? Or the like the Saints where we experianced the low of the lows in a history of disappointment only to finally experiance the sweet taste of victory?
It appears we have experianced the low of the lows now but should we rise to dominence, would you be happy with a fleeting moment of greatness or would you rather win consistantly and be disappointed consistantly if only to win one?
