I know it's an unpleasant thought, but let's say that Utah will lose one of its next 3 games.

Would you rather it be against TCU or BYU?

With a win against TCU and a loss against BYU, Utah gets a share of the MWC championship. I'm not sure what bowl game they go to since there would be a 3-team tie. Zoobs would get another year of trash talk, would revel in knowing they beat us and ruined our BCS aspirations.

With a loss to TCU and a win against BYU, TCU will claim the MWC title and will most likely go to a BCS bowl. Utah would go to the Vegas Bowl and stomp on whoever from the Pac-10. BYU would, haha, go to the Armed Forces bowl and we'd all enjoy a year of poking fun at our little sisters down south. Utah would get BCS money and wouldn't have to worry about getting drilled by whatever BCS team they would have been matched up with. Let's be honest, Alabama, Texas, Oklahoma or Florida would mop the floor with Utah.

IF we have to lose a game, I hope it would be against TCU, I don't think I could stand another year of losing our rivalry game. Even though beating TCU and losing to the y would give us a share of the MWC title, it would be a tougher pill to swallow.

With that said, holy crap, what a great year! I can't wait to see what happens tomorrow night. Let Christmas come 3 times this year, on the 6th, the 22nd and of course 12/25.

What will be considered a successful 2008 for the U?

Playing a bowl game in 2009? That would be nice.

For me, a 10-3 or 11-2 record with a win over BYU will be considered successful in my eyes. I actually think TCU has a good chance of winning the MWC this year. They are flying under the radar this year with no pressure. I think Utah will be the lone MWC team to beat TCU this year (in our black uni's no less) but with a pair of conference road losses will leave us in 2nd place.

It's nice to talk about undefeated seasons and BCS games, but let's just enjoy what we have now and if the Utes drop the Michigan game and on the road to AF, I hope we'll still come out and support the team week in and week out.

I think we can be spoiled fans sometimes. I like Whittingham and don't like to see U fans calling for Kyle's head if we don't win the MWC or make it to a BCS bowl. This shouldn't be a make or break year for him. Of course it would be different if we only win 4-5 games, but that won't be the case. He is a solid football coach who wants to be here. He is loyal and has improved his coaching each year.

With that said, let's hope I'm way wrong and we go 12-0 with a spot in the BCS game against Florida. Kyle vs. Urban, how much fun would that be?
