Hey guys, long time reader and occasional poster here, Rob D in Virginia.  Two things I love are Philly sports and cooking.  I always cook homemade cheesesteaks before the first game.  I have been inspired this year to try something new since this year's game is early.  We'll start the drinking here around 8 or 9 am, so we're gonna need something substantial as our drinking base.  I have invented the BREAKFAST CHEESESTEAK!  Complete with all of the essential cheesesteak ingredients(shaved ribeye, whiz, onions and mushrooms)  but here's the kicker; add a fried egg over easy, crunchy hasbrowns, and 3 slices of crisp bacon!

Fuck yeah I'm excited about football! Damn, it's been a long offseason! I"m writing about food. What I want to know is this; how do you guys prepare for the first game? Do you have any traditional cuisine?  Let me know what your Vick-tory food is.  GO BIRDS!

I need to throw this out there...

Who thinks we would have won against Detroit last week with Kolb Starting?  Who would have thought at halftime the Green Bay game would have been decided by 1 score? I don't think too many people can argue that point.

I think Kolb has a lot of potential and I would love to see the Eagles move their offense towards a style of play that suites him, but guess what?  That isn't going to happen this year.  Our o-line is mediocre when they are playing their best football.  Kolb will be destroyed.  He may get more concussions, no wait, he will get more concussions.  What good does that do us?  

Think back to the early 2000's when we made it to 3 NFC championships.  It was on McNabbs legs, period.  JimmyK, someone's opinion who I value, and I know many of you value, say that Vick is playing the best football of his career. I have been blown away.  I don't just think Vick gets us more wins, he gets us to the playoffs, where we should be.  I haven't seen more talent on the field during Reid's tenure. This is a football team. It is their job to win.  Why settle for less. My opinion is to let Kolb ride the pine another year, unless you're ok with him getting destroyed and the eagles losing. Build an O-line, then start Kolb.

The brain trust over at ESPN's "First Take", have stated that Donovan McNabb will almost certainly want to be traded due to the team's free agency activity(or according to them inactivity). They pointed out that the eagles have let LJ, Considine, Dawkins, Buckhalter, and Lito go and have only signed Andrews (a move I really like). They even suggested a McNabb for Cutler trade.

My question for everyone is, at this point what would it take to make McNabb Happy?

It says the Bronco's anounced signing Dawkins today to a 5year, 17million dollar contract. He is slated to make 9million the first 2 years; 7.2 million guarenteed. Dawkins is my favorite ATHELETE of all time, but a 5-year contract seems extreme. I am sorry to ruin everyone's day with this link, now I shall start drinking and try not to cry in my beer. Sounds like a country song.
