I've been a Steeler's fan since October 5, 1980.

When people in Portland, OR see me sporting my Steelers lanyard at work or shirts, hats, etc., they always ask, "Oh, are you from Pittsburgh?" No I am not. I became a Steeler's fan to spite my older brother. I was nine years old at the time, and he was ten. We were fighting earlier in the day and I was really ticked off at him. I remember that he was a Vikings fan because he liked the idea of being a viking with horns on a helmet. The Vikings were playing that day and I hadn't really been interested in football before that, but I decided that I would watch and root against his team. The Vikings were playing the Steelers that day. The Steelers man-handled them and were up 23 to 3 at the end of 3 quarters. Lynn Swann was my favorite player and I had no idea that the Steelers had already won four SBs until the following year. I've been a fan ever since and I still have that Lynn Swann Jersey. The numbers are worn because I wore it every day that I could.

I have become a lifelong fan and admirer of this team's rich history, fantastic fans and deep love for their football team. I firmly believe that if you are not a crazy Steelers fan, then you're not really a Steelers fan.

The Humility of Being a Hack - NFL Draft

I've been a die hard Steelers fan since the four Lombardi era. Some might have referred to me as a front runner at the time, but in all honesty I became a fan to spite my older brother. I didn't...

2014 Steelers Offensive Juggernaut

Yes, we finished 2013 well. We didn’t finish as well as we needed to, but we closed the gap quite a bit. Here’s a little bit of what we have to look forward to in 2014 when we’ve got the ball in...

Will the Steelers finally STOP playing down to lower level opponents?

Year after year I can't help but notice that our Steelers appear to play their best when they are the undeniable underdog. They seem to find a way to play down to lesser opponents and then try to...

First Round - 2014

I see more talk about trading down. I am pretty sure that will not happen, why? - too many weak teams desperate for a QB. This pushes starter talent down in the draft. The only way that I could see...

Free agency bargains?

I know that the draft is sexier than the girl next door, but...If the Steelers do as they usually do, we can expect them to continue tinkering in free agency for low cost, potentially high value...

New fight songs in the NFL

Mock Draft - Pick Three (if the Steelers get a 3)

3-5 are my favorite rounds this year for getting depth and play makers. If we get one or possibly two 3 round compensatory picks... Lache Seastrunk (slim chance that he will be available) He...

Mock Draft - Pick Two

I see this pick as a bit more dicey... depending on who is available. Justin Gilbert (CB) if available - He's big, physical and makes splash plays on defense. He might turn out to be the best NFL...

Mock Draft - Pick One

We all realize this is premature... but we're not playing football in Steeler Nation so let's have some fun with the hope of 2014-2015. Too many shifts will occur between now and the draft, and a...
