Stein: Blazers "Registered Interest" In Trading For DeMarcus Cousins
Marc Stein of ESPN.com reports that the Portland Trail Blazers were one of eight teams to "register interest" in trading for disgruntled Sacramento Kings big man DeMarcus Cousins.
------------------------
"Of the eight teams ESPN.com has confirmed as registering interest in trading for Sacramento's DeMarcus Cousins in the past week, in the wake of Cousins' recent one-game suspension, five of them hail from the East. According to sources close to the situation, they are: Boston, Detroit, Indiana, New Jersey and Washington. (Portland, Houston and Utah are the others.)"

Howard to be dealt to Nets tomorrow
If Crash is sitting tonight we may have something to get excited about.
Chuck Hayes contract Voided
Wow, that is shocking. I would have loved to have this guy on our team, I suppose that our recent signings would keep us from taking a flier on him.

Cho pulls the deal KP never could
I am very happy for Rich Cho today. He did what the Golden Boy never could. He stole a very good to great player for next to nothing. Pritch had countless opportunities to make deals like this with tons of assets and huge expiring contracts but couldn't get the deal we needed or wanted. And Cho did it while being hamstrung by injuries to the team robbing him of much of his flexability.
This was a textbook trade by Cho who got what he wanted by offering expiring contracts, fringe players, and picks that should land in the back half of the draft. When the deal was leaked and Jordan backpedaled Cho did not panic and give up Rudy or Batum to keep the deal together. He worked the phones, looked for other deals, and allowed Charlette to come back to him.
Cho played well with Larry Miller and Paul Allen and everybody won, something Pritch and Penn said couldn't be done. Bravo to you sir....and thank you.
Cho 'nuff

Bobcats want Rudy thrown in
Looks like the deal for Wallace may still be on but the Cats want Rudy thrown into the deal.
Not sure I am cool with that unless Brandon can play more than I think he can or Batum plays some 2
Deadspin: Greg Oden's "Part Time Athlete, Full Time Player" T-Shirt
Wow dude.
Deadspin.com has posted a picture of Greg Oden wearing a Nike t-shirt that reads, "Part Time Athlete. Full Time Player."
KP getting Pritchslapped around the league
The Nets and Hornets took a pass on the Golden Child and now it looks as though the Knicks will as well. The league knows more about what KP did and didn't do in Portland and it shows. The concenses here was that he was the best GM in the league but no that he is available he is getting passed on for....wait for it......wait for it.....Allan Houston.
We all need to be very appreciative of Cho and our owner and there should be a temporary ban on the word Vulcan.
Cho 'Nuff's wiki page
How long until "Captain Conzanno Conspiracy" points out that Cho is from Seattle and that Paul Allen is moving the Blazer's and that this hire is part of the master plan?
Suns to aquire Hedo and Childress
Interesting. Lose Amare, gain Hedo, Childress, Warrick.
Pfund the next GM target
Longtime Heat GM. Wheeler and Dealer, looks to be exactly what PA has been after. Pfund may be trying to get the hell out of Dodge since is only has 3 players under contract and may not get any of the bigtime FA's and lose Wade.
Gomes contract voidable for one million if cut
This makes some sense. Martell was owed 10 million over the next 2 years and Gomes can be cut and we save all but a million. I wonder if we can trade him as well with Joel and Andre?
PG Upgrade
Sorry, junk drawer was full. I have been beating my head against the wall trying to figure out a better option at PG that addresses our future and gets value for Rudy. What do you all think?
Where do I go in Vegas to watch the game the game tonight?
I haven't been to Vegas in 10 years so I thought I would ask my friends at BE for advice. I am looking for a good place to watch the Blazer game tonight with my wife. Any suggestions?
Big Announcement
They have been teasing about this big announcement all week. Anybody catch what it was?
Blazers to make offer to Miller
Having a problem with the link. If you go to realgm.com you will see it as a headline.
I like miller if we are getting him cheap.
Knicks 5 year offer to Sessions, do we strike now on Lee?
If this report is true than the Knicks probably won't want to have both Sessions and Lee on the books next year for the big FA season. Do we sign Lee to a sheet the prior to their offer to Sessions so they won't match while they wait for the Bucks to make up their mind?
Good stradegy!
We need to upgrade from Canzano and Quick with a sign and trade
These two clowns are killing me. Quick has been making stuff up all summer and Canzano is starting up his Vulcan crap and tying every piece of news he can to the Brandon Roy contract extension.
Quick picked a fight early last year with Oden and his reports half killed the fan support he had and Canzano is always harping about some rediculous conspiricy theory involving the Vulcans or Paul Allen's finances.
I swear that they would both be happier with the Jail Blazers/Patterson era so they can have some real bad news to report.

Could we be considering trading LA?
If we are signing Milsap for 7.5-10 million a year and locking up BRoy for the 5 year max does that leave LA on the trading block?
We all new that there would be some tough choices over the next couple of years but that was before the cap was lowered for 2010-11. If we have BRoy, Millsap, and Oden set for the next several years we could trade LA for just about any PG in the league not named Chris Paul or Derron Williams. Would you be happy with the following lineup?
PG Devin Harris/Jerod Bayless
SG Brandon Roy/Rudy
PF Millsap/Pedagraph
C Oden/Pryz
SF Batum/Webster
Just a thought.

REPORT: Ariza to go to Blazers or Raptors
Looks like whoever dosen't sign Hedo has a deal for Ariza.
Ben signs for 5 years 55 Million (what recession?)
I wonder if this kills any Heinrich deal?
Boozer holds the key to most of the FA action
Boozer has to make a sober decision (pun intended)
Boozer is deciding today whether to opt out of his deal sometime today. In December he said there was no way he would NOT opt out of his deal. But now the economy is so bad that the only team that could give him a raise or even approach his 12 million dollar salary is Detriot and most GM's don't think that they will bid against themselves and offer him somewhere around 8 million a year.
If Booz stays in Utah than they won't be able to keep Milsap. That also means that Detriot will be looking to spend their money somewhere else and Hedo's name keeps coming up.
Interesting day for Boozer and Utah.
POR/DET/NOH
I think this deal makes sense for everybody. NO picks up expiring contracts that they need along with Rudy for star potential. Detriot gets a lot better PF option than Boozer or any other UFA along with the ability to use their FA money on other players or using it next year and we get the SF and backup PG we need.
Thoughts?
Please explain something to me
What is the deal with the mid level exception. I understand it to allow a team to go over the cap without paying the luxury tax. My question is when can we use it? Can we make our trades, sign our free agents until we are out of cap room and then sign a player like McDice to the MLE essentially adding 5-6 million to spend on free agents? Does the fact that we have a player signed to the MLE (Joel) exclude us from using it again? If so, if Joel is traded (let's say we trade him because we bring in Lee) do we gain the MLE again?
I know there are several of you in here that are smarter than I am so please explain this to me.
Ford: Amare to Warriors dead
According to Chad Ford Amare is not going to GS. What is Nellie going to do with ANOTHER high scoring shooter? Then again......Nellie is crazy.
